Chapter 4: Meeting Claire

Y/n POV

I'd just graduated from Duel Academy.  I watched the Graduation Match Zane had against Jaden.  And, man! Talk about epic!  It was a real nail-biter.  Never imagined it'd end in a draw, though.

"Wow, guys.  That was some duel.  You two were awesome." I said to them.  "Thanks, Y/n." Jaden said.

"Yeah.  Best I've had, in a long while.  I look forward to another rematch." Zane said to Jaden.

"Same here, Zane.  You too, Y/n." Jaden said.  "'Kay.  Until then." I said, fist bumping Jaden, then Zane.  We agreed to stay in touch.  Then, we said our goodbyes after the ferry/plane ride home.

That Evening

I'd finally gotten home.  But when I unlocked the door, I found that Claire wasn't around.  "Hello!?  Claire!?  Hm.  She must still be at work." I surmised.  So, I decided to go to my room and wait for her to get home.  But when I entered, I found I had a surprise guest.

It was Camula.  She lay sideways on my bed, with her shoes discarded on the floor.  "Good evening.. my darling.~  You weren't joking when you told me your place was small.  But I must admit, it is rather... cozy.~" she said in a sultry tone.

"Camula?!  How'd you get in here!?" I questioned.  "Oh?  Not happy to see me?  After that night we had?" she asked me.  "I never said that." I said plainly.  "Well, then.." Camula trailed off, as she got off my bed.

'Dem legs.~' I thought, lasciviously.  Then, I was snapped out of my thoughts by a sudden pain in my neck.  Camula had decided to help herself to a bite.  "Ow!  Jeez, Cammy!  A little warning, next time!" I exclaimed.

As soon as she stopped feeding, Camula licked the bite mark and said: "Sorry, my love.  You just taste so good.~  And, speaking of which..." she started.  She sat back down on my bed and raised her right leg.  "...I think there's something of mine you've missed tasting.~" she finished, flexing her big toe.  It was obvious what she was hinting at.

"Oh, Camula.  You 'are' a temptress.  Give me that foot." I said, getting on my knee and grabbed her foot.  I gave it a kiss, then started licking.  "Oooh.~ Y/n.  That tickles.~" she said, lasciviously. "But, you know you love it.  Anyway.  You never did answer my question, earlier.  How'd you get in here?" I said, in between licks.

"I have my ways, my love.~  Now, why don't you tell me more about yourself?~" she proposed.  "Okay.  What do you want to know?" I asked, before nibbling the ball of her foot.  "*giggles* Well.  You already told me a bit about your past.  Now.  What were your parents like, when they were still alive?" Camula inquired.

"Well.  My father was a cook.  He loved cooking.  And, so did I.  So, when I was a kid, I decided to try it for myself.  Naturally, I messed up the kitchen, on my first try." I told her, receiving a chuckle.  "That sounds adorable.  Now.  While you're telling me the rest, give my other foot some attention." Camula said, giving me her left foot.  I started licking it and resumed my story.

"At first, Dad was furious at me for making a mess of his kitchen.  But, after I told him I wanted to be a cook, like him.  He his mood quickly changed.  And, after we cleaned up the kitchen, he showed me the ropes of proper food prep.  My culinary skills improved more and more, as the years went by.  I even helped out the cooks in the kitchens at the Ra and Obelisk Meal Halls." I continued, in between licks.

"Sounds like your father taught you well.  And, what was your mother like?" Camula inquired.  "Well.  She was always into the oriental stuff.  She taught me so much about it.  Legends.  Spiritualism.  Yoga.  Even, oriental cuisine.  I decided to try them out.  That's also the reason why I use my Spirit Deck.  Because, those monsters remind me of the legends she taught me, as a child." I explained.

"So, you use your deck is a way to honor your mother's memory?" she asked.  "Yeah.  In fact.  She was a duelist, herself.  She taught me how to duel.  Even helped me build my deck.  And, remember my Amaterasu card?  It was a birthday gift she gave me, before... you know." I said, distraught on that last part.  "Oh. I.. I'm so sorry." Camula said, sadly.  "Don't worry about it." I said, giving a tickle to her foot.  "*giggles* Alright.  Alright.  Stohop." she begged.  And, I complied.

"Anyway.  So, I use my Spirit Deck as a way to honor my mom's memory.  And to honor my dad's memory, I plan to use my skills in the kitchen to get a job as a cook.  I'm also gonna use part of my income from those to help Claire pay the bills.  She's done plenty for the both of us, over the years.  Now, it's my turn." I said.

"I see.  It seems, there is more to you than, I first thought." Camula commented.  "Shall we get more acquainted, then?~" I asked, flirtatiously.  "Yes.~  Now, get up here!~" she told me. So, I moved from her gorgeous feet to her gorgeous face. And, we kissed like there was no tomorrow. As we did, everything else just seemed to disappear. Even time felt like it lost meaning.

We were both in ecstasy for what felt like an hour. But, that was interrupted when a familiar voice called to me: "Y/n! You home!?"

"Who is that?" Camula inquired, "Oh, boy. Yeah, Claire. I just got here, a little while ago." I called back. "Good. Then, get your butt out here and rub my feet! And don't forget the massage oil!" she ordered, "*sigh* Okay! Coming! Sorry, Cammy. Gotta take this." I said, leaving the room.

Claire Sunrise. The woman who took me in after my parents' deaths at the hands of her jealous brother. She was a tall, light-skinned lady with short, blue hair. And, had a decent amount of muscle on her, due to all the hard work she had to do to support the both of us over the years.(Not to mention, was pretty big upstairs.😉) And she'd always have me massage her tired feet, after she got home from work.(Whenever I wasn't at Duel Academy.) Seemed like the least I could do. And, tbt, it was how I awakened to my foot fetish.

And there she was. Sitting on the couch with her big, bare feet resting on the coffee table. I approached with the bottle of massage oil she asked for.

"Hey, Y/n. So how was your last year of school?" she asked me, "Interesting, to say the least." I started, putting some oil on my hands.

"Really? What happened?" she asked, "Well. There was this spunky freshman. And he had the skills to back that up. He even wanted to challenge Zane. But I told him he had to go through me, first. Even though Zane decided to duel him, anyway." I continued, rubbing the oil on her feet.

"Ooooohhhhh.~ Oh, yeah.~ That's the stuff.~ So, what happened? Did one of you lose?" she inquired. "Nah. Both of us beat the pants off him. But, I have to admit. He managed to impress both of us." I continued.

"Wow. So, what was this kid's name? What was he like? Was he cute?" she inquired, "Well. His name's Jaden Yuki. He seems like a nice guy. He's good at making friends. Fun loving. Quirky. Gutsy. And, his heart's always in the right place, but his head is another story. But, as for that last part... Sorry, Claire. But, I'm the wrong person to ask about that." I told her, "Dang. Oh.~ A little lower.~" she told me. So, that's what I did. "Oh, yeah.~ Right there.~" she moaned, "And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Some pretty crazy stuff happened, during the later months." I told Claire, as I got in between her toes, "Oooh.~ L-Like, what?" she asked, "You wouldn't believe me, if I told you." I said, "Try me." she said, "Okay. But, you'll think I was eating nachos, before bedtime, again. Alright. Here goes." I said, before explaining what went on.

I told Claire everything. From the Shadow Games. To the Duel Monster Spirits. To the Sacred Beasts. To the Shadow Riders. To Jaden saving the world. I even told her that one of the Shadow Riders was actually a teacher at the academy. But... she just burst out laughing.

"Told you you wouldn't believe me." I deadpanned. "Hahahahahaha. Oh, man. Sorry, kiddo. It's just that.. Hahaha! That just sounds ridiculous!~ I mean. Duel Monsters cards coming to life? Magic items that steal souls? A vampire? An amazon? An Egyptian Pharaoh? An ex-carney turned dark magic-user? One of your teachers turning out to be a clone? And, your school's Superintendent trying to take over the world? You've been reading too much manga. And you really should stop eating nachos, before bed." she said, mirthfully.

"I kicked that habit, already. Mostly. Anyway. I kinda left something out." I told her, "Really? Let me guess. A UFO visited your school, too?" she joked, "Heh. I wish. Anyway. This year, I... met someone." I confessed.

"*gasp*  Woah! Really?! Who is it?! What's she like?! Is she nice?! Is she pretty?! Is she a student?! A teacher?!" Claire inquired, ecstatically, "Well, 'no' to those last two questions. But, as for the first one: It's.. sorta complicated. 2: She wasn't all that cool with everyone, at first. But, that changed. And I guess she is pretty nice, now. And as for the 'is she pretty?' question: Yes. Very." I informed her. "Oh, I can't wait to meet her!~" she said, giddily, "Actually, about that. Ya see, Claire. She's..." I trailed off.

"Right here." a certain voice spoke up. Camula came out from the shadows, with her feet still bare and shoes in hand.

"So. You must be Claire. The pleasure is mine. Y/n's told me much about you." she said, "Ah. Is that right? And, you are?" Claire questioned, "Oh. I'm sorry. How rude of me. My name is Camula. Y/n's fiancé." Cammy explained.

Claire had a shocked expression on her face, for a few seconds. Then, she gestured for Camula to come sit next to her. And after leaving her shoes by the door, she complied.  "Hey, Y/n. Thought you'd have landed someone your own age. But, you always were into older girls. And you weren't kidding. She is quite the looker. Not to mention, that accent." Claire said, slyly, "Yeah. Just makes her even more charming." I said.

"It does. It really does. Anyway. You told me, before, you beat this Jaden Yuki kid. Mind telling me how it went?" she asked, "I'm actually curious about that, too." Camula said, "Well. Okay." I said, telling the story of how I kicked Jaden's butt.

Flashback3rd Person POV

Jaden approached the Obelisk Blue Dorm to challenge Zane Truesdale to a duel. But, the other Obelisks wouldn't have it. They barred his way and pushed him to the ground.  "What's your problem?" Jaden questioned.

"I ain't got no problem. But you sure will, if you don't beat it." one Obelisk said in a condescending tone.  "Yeah. Zane wouldn't waste his time with you. You're still probably wet behind the ears from Pre-Duel-School." another said. in that same tone.

"I am not!" Jaden protested, before he got splashed in the face with a bucket of water.

"Hehehehehehehe. Now, you are." the second Obelisk said, haughtily.  But before they could walk away, a voice spoke up. "What's going on, out here!?" he questioned, impatiently.  And the voice belonged to none other than Y/n L/n.  Second most respected student in Obelisk Blue.

"Y-Y/n. Hey. Didn't see ya, there." the first Obelisk said, nervously.

Then, Y/n noticed Jaden on the ground, soaking wet. "Picking on Slifers, again?" he deadpanned.

"This one barged into our dorm trying to challenge Zane to a duel." the second Obelisk told him, "Really? You're either big on guts, or short on brains." Y/n said to Jaden, "Wanna find out?" Jaden asked, confidently.

"Well if you wanna duel Zane, you gotta get past me, first." Y/n told him, "Fine. I never back down from a challenge." he said, confidently, "You ARE gutsy. What's your name, Red?" Y/n inquired, "Jaden. Jaden Yuki." the Red Wonder told him, "Ah. So, "you're" the Jaden Yuki I've been hearing about. The one that beat some of our best duelists. Hehehehe. Well, like I said. If you wanna shot at Zane, you gotta prove yourself first, by beating me. Y/n L/n." he boasted, "Alright, then. Get your game on, Y/n!" Jaden declared.

The 2 Duelists got into position, activated their Duel Disks and drew their 5 cards.

Jaden LP: 4000 Y/n LP: 4000

"I'll make the first move, if you don't mind." Y/n said.  "Fine with me." Jaden said.  "Alright!" Y/n said, drawing his first card.

"I summon a monster in defense mode. Then, I place 3 cards face down. You're up, Jaden." Y/n said, ending his turn.

"And, you're going down, Y/n." Jaden boasted, drawing his first card, "I summon Elemental Hero Avian, in attack mode." (Elemental Hero Avian ATK: 1000) "Then, I play Polymerization. Fusing Avian with Elemental Hero Burstinatrix to form Elemental Hero Flame Wingman!" Jaden declared, (Elemental Hero Flame Wingman ATK: 2100) "Now, attack Y/n's face down monster! Infernal Rage!" Jaden commanded. His monster was victorious, but not without consequences.

"You just picked a fight with the wrong monster. I reveal the Spirit Monster... Otohime!" Y/n announced. (Otohime ATK: 0 / DEF: 100)

"A 'what' Monster!?" Jaden questioned in confusion.

"'Spirit'. And when this one is Normal or Flip Summoned, she lets me change the battle mode of one of your monsters. So, Flame Wingman now switches to Defense mode." (Flame Wingman DEF: 1200)

"And since he destroyed my monster.. normally, it's Attack Points would come out of my Life Points. But, Otohime doesn't have any. So, my damage is 0. So, you just wasted one of your best cards." Y/n explained, "Yeah, yeah. I don't need the play-by-play. I'll just throw down a face down. Alright, Y/n. Gimme your best shot!" Jaden said, boisterously.

"I like your enthusiasm, Jaden. Let's just hope it doesn't come back to bite you." Y/n said, drawing his next card. "Alright. I play the Spell Card... Next World! Here's how it works. I select a monster on your field, and this card lets me summon a monster from my hand that's the same Level. And since you only have the Level 6 Flame Wingman, I can summon the Level 6 Fenghuang!" (Fenghuang ATK: 2100)

"And when this monster is Normal Summoned, all your face down Spell & Trap Cards are destroyed." Y/n explained, as his feathered friend burned away all of Jaden's face downs.

"Next.. I play the Equip-Spell, Sword of Kusanagi! When the monster equipped with this card attacks a monster in defense mode.. if it's Attack Points are greater than the defending monster's Defense Points, the difference is dealt to you as damage. Now, Fenghuang! Attack his Wingman, with Solar Wind Burst!" Y/n commanded. Fenghuang unleashed a wave of fire that swept over the field, and destroyed the Flame Wingman. Jaden LP: 4000 > 3100

"I think that's enough damage, for now. So, I think I'll end my turn. And, since I have. Watch this." Y/n said, before Fenghuang turned into a tiny ball of light, and disappeared. "What the!? Where'd he go?" Jaden questioned in shock, "Back to my hand. You see, Jaden.. Spirit Monsters only stick around for one turn. Then, they return to their owner's hand at the turn's end." Y/n informed him, "Really? Cool!" he said, enthusiastically, "Ain't it? Oh. And when Sword of Kusanagi goes to the Graveyard, it returns to my hand. So I can use it, again, later. Now, I believe it's YOUR turn?" Y/n, reminded Jaden.

"Oh, right. And now that your field is empty, if I get a monster out, you're in trouble. So, here goes somethin'!" he said, drawing his next card.

"I summon Elemental Hero Clayman!" (Elemental Hero Clayman ATK: 800 / DEF: 2000)

"And, since you have no monsters in play.. I get to attack you, directly. Now, Clayman! Attack Y/n's Life Points with Clay Clobberer!" Jaden commanded, prompting his Hero to deliver a big blow right to Y/n's Life Points. Y/n LP: 4000 > 3200

"I think you've had enough, for now. So, I'm gonna throw down a couple of face downs. Then, I'll switch Clayman to defense mode... And call it a turn." Jaden said.

"You're not half-bad, Jaden. But, let's see how you handle my next move." Y/n said, drawing his next card. "I play Pot of Greed. So, I draw 2 more cards.

Next, I activate 2 of my face down cards. The Spell, Spring of Rebirth! And the Trap, Spirit's Invitation! The first one grants me 500 Life Points, every time a monster returns to it's owner's hand. The second one sends a monster back to my opponent's hand every time a Spirit returns to mine. But, I have to pay 500 Life Points during my Standby Phase to keep it in play. Now, I summon Inaba White Rabbit, in attack mode." Y/n announced, (Inaba White Rabbit ATK: 700)

"That's your big card? What am I supposed to do? Trip over it?" Jaden asked, cockily.

"No. You're supposed to be afraid. Because, this little guy can zoom past your monsters and strike your Life Points, directly. White Rabbit. How 'bout a demonstration?" Y/n said, prompting the little bunny to, literally, rocket at Jaden's Life Points. He was hit right in the gut and knocked off his feet. Jaden LP: 3100 > 2400

"Man. That little bunny really packs a punch." he groaned in pain, "He does. He really does. Now, I place one card face down. Then, one monster face down, in defense mode. And I'll leave it at that. And since my turn is now over, Inaba returns to 'my' hand.. and Spirit's invitation returns Clayman to 'yours'. And since two monsters have returned to their owners' hands, Spring of Rebirth grants me 1000 Life Points." Y/n explained, Y/n LP: 3200 > 4200

It was now Jaden's turn. 'Wow. This guy's not too bad. I mean. Not only did he knock down almost half my Life Points, in only a couple turns. But, he also set up a combo that takes my monsters off the field while making him stronger. Y/n's played his cards well. But, not as well as 'I' can.' Jaden thought to himself.

Meanwhile, 3 familiar female figures were walking nearby. It was Alexis, along with her 2 friends, Jasmine & Mindy. They noticed the commotion and went to see what was up. "What's going on, over there?" Alexis wondered, "Looks like that friend of yours, Jaden, is dueling against Y/n." Jasmine informed her, "He 'what'!? Oh, no." Alexis sighed. Then, they rushed over toward the action. The duelists noticed the newest spectators.

"Hey, Alexis. What's up?" Jaden greeted her, "Well, we heard a commotion and saw you dueling against Y/n." she told him, "Yeah. He told me I gotta beat him, if I want my shot at dueling Zane." he explained.

"Of course he'd say that. Y/n makes every duelist who wants a shot at Zane go through him, first. Not surprising, considering how close they are." Alexis explained. "What do you mean?" Jaden inquired.

"Guess ya don't know. Zane's my best friend. He and I have been buds since we were kids. We honed our skills together, for years." Y/n said.

"Woah. I had no idea you guys were that close. So, I'm guessing you're almost as good as him, huh?" Jaden surmised.

"You could say that. So, if you can't beat me, you don't have a chance against him." Y/n told him,

"Hahahaha. Really? Well, that just motivates me, more. So, here goes somethin'!" he said, drawing his next card.  "I summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman, in attack mode!" (Elemental Hero Bubbleman ATK: 800)

"And since he's alone, I can draw 2 more cards. And one of them is the Equip-Spell, Bubble Blaster! Which gives Bubbleman some extra pop with 800 additional Attack Points!" (Elemental Hero Bubbleman ATK: 800 > 1600)

"And I think I'll have him test his new weapon on that face down card of yours. Fire! Bombarding Bubble Barrage!" Jaden commanded, prompting his monster to blast Y/n's. But, this one wasn't a Spirit. "Huh?" he wondered,

"Surprise! Not all my monsters are Spirits. I do have a few Non-Spirit Monsters in my deck. And the one you attacked just now was Magician of Faith. Now, I can add a Spell Card from my Grave to my hand." Y/n said, putting Next World back into his hand.

"Well, then. I'll just throw down a face down. And summon Wroughtweiler, in defense mode." Jaden said, ending his turn. (Wroughtweiler DEF: 1200)

It was now Y/n's turn. "Alright. My move." he said, drawing his next card, "First, I pay 500 Life Points to keep Spirit's Invitation on my field." Y/n LP: 4200 > 3700

"Now, I play Soul Exchange! This lets me choose a monster on your field to sacrifice. Next, I activate the Ritual Spell.. Shinobird's Calling! With this, I can summon a Ritual/Spirit Monster from my hand, after I sacrifice 8 stars worth of monsters. And thanks to Soul Exchange, that just got a whole lot easier. So, I sacrifice the Fenghuang in my hand, along with the Wroughtweiler on your field to summon.. Shinobaroness Peacock!" Y/n declared, (Shinobaroness Peacock ATK: 2500.)

"And when she's summoned, I can return up to 3 Spell and Trap Cards from your field to your deck. So, I'll pick 2 of your face downs and that Bubble Blaster!" he explained, as 3 of Jaden's cards were returned to his deck. (Elemental Hero Bubbleman ATK: 1600 > 800)

"Next, she lets me summon a Spirit from my deck that's Level 4 or less. And I choose.. Amano-Iwato!" (Amano-Iwato ATK: 1900 / DEF: 1200) "When this big guy's in play, the effects of all Non-Spirit Monsters are negated. Next, I'll give my lovely ShinoBaroness a little gift. The mystical Mirror of Yata. This mirror allows any Spirit who holds it to stay on the field. Now. Amano! Attack his Bubbleman!" Y/n commanded.

"Hold it right there, cavemouth! I activate a Trap! A Hero Emerges! Now, you have to pick a random card from my hand. And if it's a monster, I can summon it." Jaden explained. "Hm. The far left." Y/n said, plainly. "Nice choice. For me, at least. You chose... Elemental Hero Bladedge!" (Elemental Hero Bladedge ATK: 2600)

"Looks like your monster's about to "cave in"! Go, Bladedge! Slice and Dice Attack!" Jaden commanded. His Bladedge reduced Y/n's Iwato to rubble. Y/n LP: 3700 > 3000

"Good move, Jaden. Didn't see it coming." Y/n complimented, "Thanks, Y/n. But, you ain't seen nothing, yet." Jaden boasted, "Well, then. I'll just place a card face down. Alright, Jaden. Show me what you got." Y/n said, confidently.

It was Jaden's turn, now. "You want it? You got it." he said, drawing his next card.  "I play The Shallow Grave. Now, we both bring one monster back from our Graves, in defense mode. I choose my Wroughtweiler." Jaden declared, (Wroughtweiler DEF: 1200)

"And I'll place mine face down." Y/n said, 'Wonder what monster he picked. Maybe, it's another Spirit Monster. Or, it's his Magician of Faith. Guess we'll have to find out. But, first..' Jaden thought to himself

"Go, Bladedge! Take out his Shinobaroness Peacock with Slice and Dice Attack!" he commanded. But, even though the attack hit Y/n's monster was still in play. Y/n LP: 3000 > 2900 "Huh?! What's going on!? Why wasn't she destroyed!?" Jaden wondered, "Because, when a monster equipped with Mirror of Yata is attacked, 'it' takes the hit, instead." Y/n explained.

"Well, your other monster won't be so lucky. Bubbleman, attack!" Jaden commanded, prompting his monster to destroy Y/n's. And, it turned out that the second guess was right. The face down monster was Magician of Faith. "Thanks. Now, I get back another Spell Card." Y/n said, as he put the Spell into his hand.

"Seems no matter what Jaden does, Y/n just bounces right back. He better come up with a good strategy, if he wants to win this." Alexis thought out loud, "Well.. I can't attack you anymore, this round. So, I'll the throw down a face down.. And call it a turn." Jaden said.

It was Y/n's turn, now. "Guess I'm up, then." he said, drawing his next card. "First, I pay 500 Points for Spirit's Invitation." Y/n LP: 2900 > 2400 "Next. I summon Asura Priest, in attack mode." (Asura Priest ATK: 1700) "Then, I equip him with Sword of Kusanagi. Next, I activate my face down card." Y/n said.

And his face down turned out to be the first Spell he brought back with Magician of Faith. Next World. "Aw, man. Not that one." Jaden said, worriedly. "Yup. And thanks to Next World, I can summon a monster with as many stars as your Bladedge. Like, Yamata Dragon!" Y/n declared, as he summoned the 8-headed beast. (Yamata Dragon ATK: 2600 DEF: 3100)  "Woah, that's big!" Jaden exclaimed.

"Next, I equip my dragon with Black Pendant. Increasing it's Attack Points by 500." (Yamata Dragon ATK: 2600 > 3100) "Now, it's stronger than Jaden's Bladedge!" Alexis stated, "This isn't looking good." Mindy said, worriedly.  "Yamata Dragon! Attack Elemental Hero Bladedge with 8-Headed Blaze!" Y/n commanded. His serpentine dragon roasted Jaden's hero like a Thanksgiving turkey. Jaden LP: 2400 > 1900

"And now, my Asura will attack your Bubbleman. Go! Daggers of Demise!" Y/n commanded, before his 6-armed beast skewered Jaden's other hero monster. Jaden LP: 1900 > 1000 But, his troubles were far from over.

"'Fraid you're not out of the woods, yet, dude." Y/n told him, "What do you mean?" Jaden inquired, "I mean, my Asura's attack isn't over. Because of his special ability, he can take out all your monsters, at the same time. So, Wroughtweiler's going back to the kennel. And, don't forget. Thanks to Sword of Kusanagi... you'll still lose Life Points, even though your little doggie's in defense mode. So, get to it, Asura!" Y/n commanded, prompting his monster to put the mechanical pooch down. Jaden LP: 1000 > 500

"Whoopsie! When Wroughtweiler's destroyed in battle, I get to fetch Polymerization and an Elemental Hero from my Graveyard and put them back into my hand." Jaden told Y/n.

"Too bad you won't get a chance to use them. Shinobaroness! Attack him, directly!" Y/n commanded his monster to wipe out Jaden's Life Points. "Jaden, no!" Alexis cried.

Luckily, he still had a trick up his sleeve. "I'm not done, yet! I activate the Trap.. Draining Shield! When you attack me, directly.. this Trap stops your attack, and I regain Life Points equal to your monster's Attack Points." Jaden told Y/n. Jaden LP: 500 > 3000

"Eh. I'll get you, next time. For now, I place 2 cards face down... and leave it at that. And since my turn is over.. time to come on home, kids." Y/n said, as his 3 Spirits returned to his hand.  "And, my Spring of Rebirth gives me 500 Life Points for each monster that returned to me." Y/n LP: 2400 > 3900

"And due to Yamata Dragon's special ability... since he dealt you damage, I get to draw from my deck until I'm holding 5 cards. That's not all. When Black Pendant goes to the Graveyard, my opponent loses 500 Life Points." Jaden LP: 3000 > 2500 "Finally.. when Shinobaroness Peacock returns to my hand, she leaves behind a little gift... 2 Shinobird Tokens!" Y/n explained. (Shinobird Token ATK: 1500 / DEF: 1500)

It was now Jaden's turn. "Hey, Y/n. Ya know, somethin'?" he asked, drawing his next card. "What?" Y/n asked, "This has been one of the most fun duels I've had, since coming here." Jaden said. "Same here. I can see how you were able to beat some of our best. But, you'd better keep on your guard. 'Cause, I don't plan to lose." Y/n told him.

"Me, neither. First, I'll summon Clayman, in attack mode!" (Elemental Hero Clayman ATK: 800) "Then, I'll equip him with the Spell Card, Clay Wrap. Next, I fuse him with the Burstinatrix in my hand to form... Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster!" (Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster ATK: 2000 / Def: 2500)

"And since Clay Wrap went to the Graveyard, I get to destroy a Spell or Trap Card on your side of the field. So, Spring of Rebirth... you're outta here!" Jaden declared, as the aforementioned card got destroyed.

"Alright!~" Mindy cheered.  "That'll stop Y/n's Life Points from increasing!~" Jasmine said, optimistically.  "Yeah. But, there's still a long way to go." Alexis told them.

"Now, I'll use Rampart Blaster's special ability. Even though she's in defense mode, she can strike you with half her Attack Points. Go! Rampart Barrage!" Jaden commanded his monster to attack Y/n, directly. Y/n LP: 3900 > 2900 "Alright. I think that's enough punishment, for now. So, I lay one face down. Then, I think I'll call it a turn." Jaden said.

It was Y/n's turn, now. "Alright. My turn, then." Y/n said, drawing his next card.

"First. Since I still have Spirit's Invitation, I'll pay up 500 Points." Y/n LP: 2900 > 2400 "Then, I'll fix this little problem with Emergency Provisions. Later, S.I." Y/n LP: 2400 > 3400

"Next, I think I'll activate one of my face downs. Which happens to be the other Spell I brought back. Shinobird's Calling! So, I'll sacrifice my 2 Shinobird Tokens.. to bring back an old friend." Y/n said, summoning an all-too-familiar female creature. (Shinobaroness Peacock ATK: 2500)

"Oh, no. Not her, again." Jaden said, "Yup. And, you know what that means. That face down you were hoping to use.. goes back to your deck. Next, I'll use Shinobaroness's other ability... And summon another Inaba White Rabbit!" (Inaba White Rabbit ATK: 700)

"Aww, look at the cute, little bunny.~" Mindy cooed.  "Cute, but dangerous!" Jaden told her. "He's right. But, it's not my little friend you need to worry about. It's this! I activate Offerings to the Doomed! So, Blaster will now go bye-bye." Y/n said, as bandages wrapped around Rampart Blaster and destroyed her.

"No! Rampart!" Jaden exclaimed.  "Looks like you're wide open. Inaba! Take it too him!" Y/n commanded, prompting his furry friend to strike. Jaden: LP 2500 > 1800 "Alright, Shinobaroness. Your turn!" Y/n commanded his second monster to deliver the final blow. Jaden LP: 1800 > 0 The duel was over.

"Jaden.. just lost." Alexis said, with disbelief. But, Jaden didn't seem too broken up about it. In fact, he was smiling.

"Wow, Y/n. That was some duel." he said, "Sure was." Y/n said, helping his opponent to his feet, "Let's do it, again, sometime." Jaden proposed, "Sounds like a plan." Y/n said, "Alright. Until then." Jaden said, "Yeah. Until then." Y/n said, before the two duelists shook hands.

Flashback End

Y/n POV

"And, that's the story." I concluded.  "Wow. Sounds like quite the duel." Claire said.  "Not as good as his duel with me." Camula said. "Let's not talk about that one." I spoke up, "Why not? I'd like to hear it. And, how you two met." Claire told us.  "Okay. Here goes." I said.

Camula and I told the story of how we met. Every detail. (Except for... "that night".) And with every line, Claire began to connect the dots.  She began to realize the story I told her was true. And that Camula was the vampire I mentioned. She was pretty freaked out, at first. And it took a while to calm her down while she processed everything.

"Okay. So, let me get this straight. You're a vampire. You had a magic "Shadow Charm" that allowed you to steal people's souls and put them into little ragdolls. And you were gonna use them to start a vampire army to declare war on mankind. And on top of that, you were one of 7 people trying to unleash some kind of.. beasts for your boss who was gonna use them to take over the world. And Y/n was one of the 7 people trying to stop you?" she questioned.

""In a nutshell", as you mortals say." Camula confirmed.  "Wow. All that is just so hard to believe. But, part of me is saying it's the truth." Claire said,

"It does seem like quite the tale, huh? My favorite part is, after I beat Cammy, we all brought her back to my dorm room and tickled her silly." I said.  "Not 'my' most favorite moment. I can tell you that." Camula muttered, with a blush.  Claire and I just chuckled.

For the rest of the night, we had Camula as our guest.  Once she gave up the whole misanthropy and world domination thing, she was actually really good company.  Loved my cooking(without the garlic).  And she and Claire really got along, pretty well.

Cammy even told Claire she reminded her of an old acquaintance. But, with shorter hair, lighter skin, and not quite as much muscle. (You know who I mean.😏)

We even joined Jaden and the others on some of their adventures, from time to time.  But that's a story for anther day.
