Split Lips

That night, Kenny brought home another nameless girl. He slammed his door behind them and wrapped his arms around her curvy figure.

"What happened to your face, Ken?" She looked at his split lip and swollen cheek, concerned.

"Oh, this?" He smirked. "I got in a fight. You should see the other guy, baby." Not wanting to talk about it anymore, he quickly pulled off her shirt and unhooked her bra.

Just then, Karen ran into the room crying and hugged Kenny. The girl immediately covered herself with her hands and fumbled for her clothes.

"Hey, wait!" He said as she left the room, ignoring him.

He then looked down at Karen, "What's wrong?"

"It's Dad again," she sniffled. "I-I thought that he had calmed down from earlier..." She trailed off.

Kenny sighed, "You could've gone to Kevin, I was in the middle of something."

"You know he's never around," she buried her face into his chest. "He doesn't give a crap about us."

"Watch your language. You're only twelve."

"But it's true!"

"I know I just... Don't want to believe it," he sat down on his bed, followed by Karen.

After a couple of minutes of silence, she blurted out, "Do you love her?"

"Huh?"

"You know, the girl that was just with you."

"Oh, yeah. She has giant boobs," he chuckled a little.

"No, I mean are you in love with her," Karen looked up at Kenny.

"I guess not."

"Then why were you doing that with her and all of the other girls you bring home?"

"Well, Karen, when a man and a woman love each other very much-"

"But you don't," she cut him off.

Kenny frowned and after a moment of thought replied with, "I guess I just need someone to love me. Or at least feel like someone loves me."

Karen kissed his cheek, "I love you, big bro."

He looked down at her, "You're going to grow up to be a great girlfriend to some lucky boy. You know that, right?" She giggled in response. "It's getting late, you should get to bed."

"Fine. But don't go out as Mysterion tonight, okay? I'm worried about you."

"Wait, you know I'm Mysterion?" Kenny said, surprised.

"Sorry. I've known for a while now. I didn't want to tell you because I knew it made you happy. It made me happy," she smiled. "Guardian Angel."

Kenny smiled back and kissed her forehead, "Alright, go to bed. And lock your door."

"Goodnight!"

"Sweet dreams, lil sis."

It was hard for Kenny to fall asleep. Other than the nightmares, it scared him thinking about Karen growing up. He tried to shake it off and fell asleep a while later.
