i groaned into my pillow and ruffled my hair. i looked at the time.

11:54pm

6 minutes left.

11:55pm

5 minutes left, and its all over.

4 minutes left, does jungwon have nothing to say?

3 minutes left, no new messages from him.

11:58pm

2 minutes left, oh my god.

1 minute..

i jumped and fell off of my bed and immediately checked my phone notification.

new message from jungwon<3.

without wasting any second, i immediately opened the texting app.

'something to tell me? is it serious? what if he confesses? no of course not.. but why would he ask me to talk after school? at the school rooftop? just like any other romantic cliche scene where the guy confesses to the girl.'

'calm down y/n. dont overthink too much or you'll just end up getting hurt again. dont let him hurt you again.. i shouldnt let my guard down!'

i tried forcing myself to go to sleep, but as expected, i just couldn't. all ive been thinking about for the past 2 hours is what the hell he has to say.

i only have 3 hours of sleep left but i could care less.

what will jungwon tell me? is it that important to the point where he'd only tell me in person? why couldnt he say it through text? the only possible answer is him confessing but i doubt that. no way he fell for me. thats not.. like him.

a few hours passed and it was 5am.

i only got 3 hours of sleep. great. just great.

i quickly got out of bed and and dressed up.

i didnt feel like eating breakfast, my mind is too occupied.

i went to school, my mind just thinking about what jungwon has to tell me.

i would space out often and i couldnt even talk to yeona and aera properly.

"hey." aera placed a hand on my shoulder.

"is something bothering you? you've been acting different. are you okay?"

"yeah. did something happen? you can tell us." yeona asked, concerned.

i looked at the both of them.

"you know how jungwon and i um.. how do i say this.. broke up? kinda.."

"its been 10 days already?" yeona widened her eyes.

"yeah, what happened?" aera asked.

"well.. jungwon said he had to tell me something after school. at the school rooftop! and i have been thinking about what he wants to tell me."

"whats weird is that he couldve just told me through text, you know? whats so important that he has to tell me in person instead of saying it through text?"

"okay, no shit. high chance he will confess, but!" yeona replied.

"i dont want you to expect anything.. because if he doesnt confess at all, then.. you'll just end up hurting yourself."

"yeah but what other possible answer is there?" aera

"i dont know! maybe he has something to give?"

and that made me think.

what if he was returning the ring and necklace i bought for him?

the bell rang, signaling that the school day was finally over. everyone was relieved and was excited to go home.

almost everyone, atleast.

y/n ran towards yeona and aera who were just as nervous as her.

"go, y/n. hes probably gonna wait there for a while if you dont go now."

jungwon was in another class so y/n wasnt quite sure if he already went to the school rooftop or not.

"we'll be nearby, we promise." aera assured.

and with that, y/n ran towards the school rooftop.

"please."

"make it worth my time."

"please tell me that you like me too."

"thats all i ask."

"please!"

and there he was.

looking at the sky, hands in his pocket, not noticing y/n's presence.

he looked like he was having a very peaceful time.

"jungwon!"

the boy turned to look at the girl, and warmly smiled.

"y/n."
