Humanity was forced to abandon its ancestral home and seek refuge among the stars aboard the interstellar ark known as the starship Von Braun. Professor Hugo Cornelius Barlowe, a brilliant roboticist and exobiologist, has hatched a plan to save the human race: Project Regenesis, which involves sending pairs of autonomous robotic probes he built called "Horus Probes" to different inhabitable worlds in search for a new home for the human race. the story follows two horus probes named Leonardo Da Vinci "Leo" and Isaac Newton "Ike" as they crash-land on the backwater planet of Darwin IV and are stranded on the alien world as they learn about the planet and its diverse array of bizarre creatures while trying to find a way to re-establish contact with the Von Braun and get off the planet.
