It came to Dontivitch, a small town on the edge of Germany, some years ago. I of course speak of the scarlet plague epidemic of 1771, an illness of such terrible property that in the short time it lived across Europe, it had proven worse then the last sweeping plague of such magnitude. Coming from a village with travelers most seldom, we had thought little of the crisis for we already were faced with few blessings of our own. As what would be proved however was a large difference to our expectations.
