After four seasons with the Portland Thorns, Bradie Van Dyk knew she needed a change. She wanted to broaden her horizons, discovering new possibilities away from the US.

When the opportunity arose for Bradie to head across the pond and play for Manchester United, alongside her USWNT teammates Christen Press and Tobin Heath, she grabbed at the opportunity. Although she would have to leave behind her Portland Thorns team mates, she was excited for the new adventure.

Also heading to Manchester, was her best friend, Sam Mewis. Sam and Bradie had been friends since they first entered the national team scope, and going to England together, was always the dream. However, they'd be playing for the other teams rival.

Staying behind in Portland was Bradie's longterm
girlfriend. Emily. Emily Sonnett. Bradie didn't want to leave Emily behind in the US, but they knew it was going to be the best thing for both their careers.
