The story goes that one day Ali - may Allah be pleased him - noticed that his wife Fatimah -may Allah be pleased with her - had in her hand an 'Ood al-Arak, also known by the name: Siwaak سِواك and she was using it (For those of you who don't know, a Siwaak سِواك back then was their equivalent of our toothbrush nowadays. It is made from the branches of Al-'Araak tree شَجَرُ الأَراك). Not hoping but still writing.

Oh, how I love it! To be able to write about life in the summertime, the bright sky turning soft pink as you stay up late outside and the warm French countryside. But above all, how I love to narrate various love stories.Born in the countryside of my beloved France, my 20th summer has arrived as I'm about to turn 21. I was never a big fan of the family gatherings, the dog days, the swimming pools and the crowded beaches. But what about the gentle kiss of the sun on your skin, the smell of freshly cut grass, the night rides, the strawberry pies you make with your grandma and all the stargazing that starts at midnight? As a reconciliation with this crazy time of the year, I started to write about it. It wasn't enough, so I included human beings who were or weren't friends, were or weren't lovers, were or weren't a family. Everything fell into place. And it all made sense. I'm over the moon to introduce you to a new season of my writing journey. I hope you'll find some comfort there now that it's SUMMER IN THE FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE.
