Consequences Rewrite 2016

Short fiction based on our infamous Consequences stories.

If you're struggling with your writing and need a prompt, why not do a Consequences Rewrite? It can be a good way to get those creative juices flowing if you're not in a writer-y mood. And if you like what you've written, you can even have it featured in this book.

The rules are simple:

1) Pick ANY chapter from a Consequences book on @UonCreativeWriting. It doesn't matter if someone has done that chapter before. And it doesn't even have to be just one.

2) Re-imagine it as a coherent story in your own style. Introduce characters, your own characters, flesh out the setting if you like, maybe add an ending if there isn't one already.

3) Keep as much or as little of the original story as you like.

4) Write! Try to spend about 15-30 minutes on the first draft. There are no hard time limits, but definitely don't spend more than an hour on it. Think of it as a writing exercise. Don't take it too seriously, because hey, it's only Consequences.

5) (Optional) If you think your story is good and you'd like to send it in to be posted here, click my username @UonCreativeWriting and then click the Message button. Paste your story into the message and say which chapter you based it on. Feel free to re-draft it before sending.

6) If you send a story in, you will also get a chapter dedication that links to your account. So if you are sending it via Facebook, make sure to tell me your Wattpad username.
