A Colorless Week
Harold Wilhelm Ford hated hospitals. He always grew nauseous of its scent. Everything about the plain-colored walls reminded him of his dark, bitter past. But with his mother's state of health, he was always brought back to the place he wanted to stay away from. He felt as if he was confined with his mother. Dreading, he counted the days as they slowly passed by. They rarely left the room for other reasons than to take a test, but before he knew it, his mother was already going to be discharged. He couldn't have been more glad. Well, that was what he thought until he met the patient in the room next door. He always heard her arguing with the nurses. But he didn't expect that he would meet her for himself. She was strange, but unmistakably familiar. It took a quick stare to remind him of the girl who loved him since the start. She was Harriet Jane Asher, his childhood neighbor. He was shocked to see her in that condition. He remembered her to be the type of girl who was very healthy and rarely got sick. As he caught up with his friend, he understood her situation deeper. Unconsciously, his sympathy made him stay a bit longer at the place he disliked the most. They got closer to each other, and it brought back memories of their childhood. He realized that spending time with her made it easier for him to move on from his past. But even though she opened up to him, there were still some things that were a mystery to him. "Why was her room painted with colors of the rainbow? But whenever I pointed at a rainbow in the sky, she would feel sad and tear up?""Why did she have all those coloring materials, when all she ever drew were monotonous sketches of the same shades and shadows?""Why was she so similar to the only girl I ever loved?""Why did she remind me so much of the person I so wanted to forget?"He wanted answers to his questions. But it seemed as if the odds weren't in his favor.

Izuku Midoriya ... anyone who had every know always saw him as a weak quirkless hero wannabe, well at the end of the day that was true. Izuku's whole life had been meaningless, painful and just plain dark. His life story would be an abusive father, a sweet but weak mother, an bullying best friend, then came the biggest shock of his life, he was quirkless... he had always wanted to he be a hero, it was one thing he could look forward to in the future but... he was quirkless. 'One day dad will go away and I will be strong enough to take Kacchan head on and to protect mom from anyone' was what he thought... Now though, when he thought of the future all he saw was dark emptiness in which he stood all alone. His 3rd year of middle school. He had meet the greatest hero in the world, who he believed would save him from his miserable life but... alas he was introduced the the reality the he had wished to ignored. But maybe... no, not really, he had always known at the back of his mind that there was no chance, that this is just the way the world worked and that he can't be anything even if he wished it. But none the less he worked hard as hard as he could, he practised at the beach everyday, he planned his meals, he put a proper schedule for manage his workouts and had learned a lot of different things, well since he was quirkless he would have to make up some how. He learned how to wield knifes, he soon realised he was better with both hands and became a duel wielder. He researched a lot more into UA applications forms on the UA site and (he may have hacked the site, but hey, he needed to know) to get to know who he would be facing in the UA entrance exam. He didn't get much but he did realise that they would either be fighting giant robots or be passing a obstinate course But even after all this work and effort .......... "Your quirkless, please refrain from acting like this and except reality!"

The book I wrote the poems in, was a gift from a dear friend of mine. The book had the scent of the cologne he used to apply. Every time I opened it, the burst of the scent just blessed my soul. It gave me a lovely experience when writing poetry. Wolverine, the first poem in this book was inspired by him. Even though it has been a long time since we've been in contact, I have a beautiful and long memory of him. For some time, I felt alone, nobody had a clue of how I truly felt about everything. Only a pen and paper were a source of comfort, even so, they failed to hold me. Until I found the One meant to hold me and never to break me. You'll find out more along the way...I've been given a gift of words, poetry, and quite literally a book. I would love to share that with you.I wish you a beautiful journey through this messy, imperfect, filled with grief, loss, pain, joy, memories, and high school life.
