En vindpust följde med honom in när han tvingade igen dörren. Gångjärnen protesterade med höga gnissel som gjorde sig hörda vid minsta lilla rörelse av dörren. Färgen som tidigare varit blå var nu en aning rostig och brunaktig. Det var länge sedan någon levande själ hade satt sin fot här inne. Sätena var svagt fuktiga och deltog i den unkna lukten som fyllde hela utrymmet. Man kunde fortfarande se ut genom fönsterna även om flera stycken var prydda kant till kant med slingrande sprickor. Hade sprickorna varit bruna hade man nästan kunnat mista det för små grenar. Det var varmt och skapade direkt obekvämhets känslor i hans kropp när han med långsamma steg gick runt och studerade så många detaljer han bara kunde. Han försökte föreställa sig alla saker som hade hänt här. Här hade tusentals människor suttit, alla med sin egna historia. Det var precis här dem hade suttit och pratat, kanske läst en bok eller bara varit tyst och låtit sina ögon vandra ut genom fönsterna, betraktat världen utanför.Och han lät sig själv uppfylla sin högsta önska.
