Sonic has always viewed his super form as something positive, something he could control and use in case things take a turn for the worse. Something that made him feel powerful enough in order to defeat his enemies and make everyone happy and hopeful. Super Sonic is what most people think of when someone mentions Sonic the Hedgehog to them.Super was always what Sonic turned to when the problem became too much to handle with his base form alone, like Giganto, Chaos, Dark Gaia etc. He has control of Super, using him as a nice little cheat in boss fights. Chaos Emeralds, the gems that release Super, were always frustrating to track down but it was always worth it in the end.Then, as he turns 16 things just got weird. At first, he starts to feel lonely even when he's hanging out with his friends. He told them about it, and they thought it was weird since he's not alone. And then it escalated into jealousy. Something was definitely wrong, Sonic never felt jealousy towards anyone. But what was most frightening, was that the jealousy was directed at him. His friends, his home, and his perfect life.As it turns out, in trying to give everyone else freedom, Sonic denied the freedom of one person AND held them in shackles unintentionally. Super Sonic. Apparently, they are not just a form anymore. They're a living being. And he used them for their power, and unknowingly made them suffer and feel like they wouldn't be accepted if they revealed themself. Once finding this out, Sonic was guilty and determined to make this right. But by the time they figured out about them though, Super has had enough, and turned to the dark side.
