The city-state of Krenelace is a place of prosperity, order, and opportunity. Within the strong walls the people are ruled over by a cherished King, whose popularity stems from his adventuring days, his old party in the city as his council of advisors. The populace enjoying fair rule, magical law enforcement, and even indoor plumbing; Krenelace is the best place one could hope to live.So, when a group of low-level thieves steal a pile of treasure no one will miss why does the king mysteriously collapse, and the advisors blame this "act of terrorism", putting the city into martial law? This unfolding conspiracy threatens to unravel everything that Krenelace has worked so hard to build and drag everyone within the sky-reaching walls into early graves. (Note: This is a work of fiction that I wrote as a writing exercise using the game Dungeons and Dragons. As I write, character choices are met with dice roles on my end effectively playing the game Dungeons and Dragons and thus leaving the path of this story up in the air. Crucial misses and critical hits may wildly drive this story in crazy directions that I won't be able to predict from update to update. Thus, there will be races, spells, gods, and functions of the game that are recognizable from that game. However, all characters and setting pieces are of my own creation. Even though this is an exercise, I do hope to approach this project like I would a fully original one with professionalism and my best writing.
