CH. 2 | THE VILLAIN KIDS

AMOR GROANED as he was awakened by an obnoxious knock on the door to his dorm. He sat up, and rubbed his eyes. "What the heck?" he said to himself.

He got out of his bed, then went to the door, and opened it, revealing his younger twin sister, Audrey, who definitely did not looked pleased.

"Thanks a lot for interrupting my dream with a hot actress once again, Aud," Amor said with an annoyed look on his face.

"Well," Audrey spoke. "I'm glad I did because you have fifteen minutes. Get ready."

"Get ready? For what?" Amor asked confused.

"Uh, the villain kids' arrival," Audrey said in a 'duh' tone.

"Shit!" Amor cursed.

"You forgot?" Audrey said, rolling her eyes.

Amor nodded. "Yes."

"Well, you have fifteen minutes, so, hurry up, and come outside to the courtyard," Audrey told him, then left.

Amor shut the door, then went to his closet, and quickly found an outfit. He then did his daily hygiene, and went out the door.

He walked out the dormitory, and saw Ben, Audrey, and Fairy Godmother with the welcoming committee. He approached the three.

"Oh," Fairy Godmother grinned. "Glad you could make it, Amor."

Amor nodded with a grin in response. He looked around the courtyard, raising an eyebrow at the marching band playing.

He turned to Ben, and said, "Is the marching band really necessary, B?"

"I want the new arrivals to feel welcome," Ben replied with a smile.

"Really?" Amor asked. "Do you want them to feel welcome or to scare them off?"

Ben chuckled, shaking his head.

"Scare them off," Audrey said quietly under her breath.

A black limo pulled up in front of the dormitory. Two boys came out of the limo, engaged in a game of tug-of-war, fighting over a scarf.

Carlos, son of Cruella De Vil, who was on the ground had white hair, while the other boy, Jay, son of Jafar, who was standing had long brown hair with a beanie on his head.

Three other teens stepped out of the limo. Mal, the daughter of Maleficent snapped, "Guys, guys, guys! We have an audience."

Jay and Carlos stopped their game of tug-of-war, looking, and noticing they indeed had an audience.

Jay put on a fake charming smile. "Just... Cleaning up."

"Leave it like you found it!" Fairy Godmother said in a singsong voice. She added, "And by that, I mean just leave it."

Jay reluctantly threw the scarf and a couple other objects back in the limo. He then hissed at Carlos, "Get up."

Noticing Audrey, he put on a charming smirk, approaching her. "Hello, Foxy. The name's Jay."

Audrey laughed awkwardly. Fairy Godmother peeped in front of the girl. "Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother, headmistress," she said, then curtsied.

"The Fairy Godmother? As in, 'Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boo'?" Deimos, the son of Diaval asked.

"Bibbidi-Bobbidi. You know it," Fairy Godmother said, pointing at Deimos.

"Yeah, I always wondered it felt like for Cinderella when you just appeared, out of nowhere, with that sparkly wand and warm smile... And that sparkling wand," Mal said.

Real subtle, Mal, Deimos thought as he gave his best friend an amused look.

"That was a long time ago. And as I always say, 'don't focus on the past or you'll miss the future'," Fairy Godmother said and did an odd jazz hands gesture.

Ben spoke up with a smile, "It's so good to finally meet you all. I'm Ben."

"Prince Benjamin," Audrey corrected. She then added, "Soon to be king."

At that, Evie, the daughter of Evil Queen's face lit up. She stepped forward, and said, "You had me at prince. My mom's a queen, which makes me a princess."

"The Evil Queen has no royal status here," Audrey said through a false smile. "And neither do you."

Evie's face fell, and she went back, standing next to Mal. What am I going to do with that sister of mine? Amor thought.

Sensing the tension, Ben spoke up. "This is Audrey," he said, gesturing to the brunette girl.

"Princess Audrey. His girlfriend," Audrey said. She then took Ben's hand in hers, and said, "Right, Bennyboo?"

Ben chuckled. Amor looked at the couple with a look of slight disgust on his face. He didn't have anything against his sister and best friend's relationship, he just thought the two could be a bit too lovey-dovey with one another.

"And this is Amor," Ben introduced his best friend.

"Prince Amor. Soon-to-be royal advisor and my twin brother," Audrey said.

"Ben, Amor, and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow," Fairy Godmother told the villain kids. "The door of wisdom are never shut!" she exclaimed, separating Ben and Audrey's hands. She then added, "But the library hours are from 8:00 to 11:00. And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews." And with that, she walked off, with the marching band following behind her.

Ben stepped forward. "It is so, so, so good to finally me..." He tried to shake Jay's hand, but instead, was met with a punch in the shoulder. "Meet you all."

Ben spoke as he shook each of the villain kids' hands. He shook Deimos' hand a bit longer than he should have. "This is a momentous occasion, and one that I hope will go down in history..." He then licked his fingers after shaking Carlos' hand. "Is that chocolate?"

Mal's eyes were locked on Amor. She found him interesting even though he hasn't said a word yet. Noticing Mal looking at him, Amor sent her a wink.

"As the day our two peoples began to heal," he finished.

"Or the day that you showed five peoples where the bathrooms are," Mal said sarcastically.

"A little bit over the top?" Ben asked.

"A little bit more than a little bit," Mal told him.

"Well, so much for your first impression, Ben," Amor said, patting Ben's shoulder. He and Mal shared a laugh that trailed off as they stared into each other's eyes.

Noticing and not liking their interaction, Audrey cut in. "Hey, you're Maleficent's daughter, aren't you?" she asked Mal.

Amor's eyes slightly widened. Of course, he thought.

"Yeah, you know what? I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff," Audrey said through a fake smile.

When Mal didn't reply, Audrey gestured to herself and Amor. "Oh, our mom's Aurora. Sleeping-"

"Beauty!" Mal said rather loudly. She then added, "Yeah, I've heard the name." Audrey stared at her with the same fake smile upon her face. Mal continued, "You know, and I totally do not blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in the whole world but my mother to their stupid christening."

"Water under the bridge," Audrey said.

"Totes!" Mal replied.

The two girls broke out into a fake, exaggerated laugher that soon faded away. Noticing the tension, Ben clapped his hands, and spoke, "Okay! So, how about a tour? Yeah?"

Ben gestured for the villain kids to follow, and they walked to the school as Ben gave a brief background of it. "Auradon Prep, originally built over 300 years ago and converted into a high school by my father when he became king."

They stopped in front of a statue of Ben's father. Ben clapped his hands, and it morphed into a beast. Carlos screamed and jumped into Jay's arms.

Ben chuckled and said, "Carlos, it's okay. My father wanted his statue to morph from beast to man to remind us that anything is possible."

Deimos raised an eyebrow. "Does he shed much?"

"Yeah, mom won't let him on the couch," Ben replied. He, Audrey, and Amor, then proceeded to walk to the dormitory.

Deimos turned to Mal. "Did he think I was being serious or was he being sarcastic?"

Mal shrugged, then said, "Probably both."

The five villain kids walked into the dormitory.

"So," Mal began. "You guys have a lot of magic here in Auradon? Like wands and things like that?"

"Yeah, it exists of course, but it's pretty much retired," Amor told her with a light smile.

"Most of us here are just ordinary mortals," Ben said.

Deimos slightly scoffed, then said, "Who happen to kings and queens."

"That's true. Our royal blood goes back hundreds of years," Audrey said, and forced Ben's arm around her.

Ben looked up to see Doug, son of Dopey at the top of the stairs. As well as Maisie, daughter of Merryweather.

"Doug, Maisie, come down," Ben called to them. Once the two of them had joined, Ben gestured to them, and said, "This is Doug and Maisie. They're going to help you with your class schedules and show you the rest of the dorms." Looking mainly at Deimos, he added, "I'll see you later, okay? And If there is anything you need, feel free to-"

Amor noticed how Ben was looking at Deimos, and he began to feel suspicious of it, so he cut in, saying, "Ask Doug or Maisie."

Amor and Deimos both broke out into a fake laughter reminiscent to the one Mal and Audrey had shared a moment ago.

Ben and Audrey both walked off. Maisie gave a wave to the five vks, and said, "Hi, guys. I'm Maisie. Merryweather's daughter."

"And I'm Dopey's son. As in Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and..." Doug trailed off, noticing Evie. "Heigh-Ho."

Evie approached him, and introduced herself. "Evie. Evil Queen's daughter."

Doug just stared at her for a moment. Amor chuckled, then lightly hit Doug on the back. "Doug, you're drooling," he whisper-scolded.

Doug shook his head, then said, "So about your classes, we, uh, put in the requirements already."

Maisie listed the classes off, "History of woodsmen and pirates, safety rules for the Internet, and, uh, remedial goodness 101."

"Let me guess," Mal said, then popped a piece of candy in her mouth. "New class?"

Amor nodded. "Yep."

"Come on, guys," Mal told her friends, throwing her candy wrapper on the ground. "Let's go find our dorm rooms."

The five villain kids went up a flight of stairs, only to be stopped by Doug as he said, "Oh, uh, yeah, your dorms are that way, guys."

The vks proceeded to go up the other flight of stairs. Doug recited all of the seven dwarfs' names. "Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and..."

Carlos stopped by him, and said with a smile, "Sneezy," then caught up with his friends.

"We gotta go, A," Maisie told Amor. "We have to meet up with my mom."

"Yeah," Amor nodded. He turned to Doug. "See ya later, Doug."

Doug nodded in response. Amor and Maisie both left the dormitory. As they were walking, Amor said, "Not gonna lie, Maleficent's daughter seems intriguing."

"I'm not surprised. You flirt too much," Maisie said.

"I didn't flirt with her, but she was definitely giving me a look," Amor said.

Maisie crinkled her nose. "Cocky much?"

Amor shrugged. "Depends."

Loved making Amor and Audrey protective of each other in this. Next chapter is going to be so fun for me to write because what I have in mind is just yes.
