Chapter Forty Three

Sivaangi blinked back her tears as she traced the empty bed on her left. She hugged a stiff pillow and rested her cheek on it as she half leaned herself on the pillow. She couldn't describe in words of how much she misses Ashwin, physically and mentally.

Two nights ago, Sivaangi was in the embrace of her husband, basking in his warmth. In his embrace, she felt complete and it is in his embrace where she felt the most alive. Now, to be in a bed without Ashwin, she plainly felt empty.

The day went painfully slow for Sivaangi. She said she won't cry to Pugazh who said he'll let her talk to Ashwin only then. So, she tried to be normal and didn't ask her brother about her husband. After having dinner for namesake, she laid down on the bed, lost in his thoughts.

Sivaangi winced when she felt pain in her lower abdomen. After their love making, she was sore down there for sure but this lower abdomen pain worried her a bit. She doesn't have any clue if all women experience this after intimacy and she doesn't have anyone to ask, not even her mother.

Rolling on her front, Sivaangi twisted in the bed. Her thoughts stayed with Ashwin, his safety, yes, but she also felt alone. Huffing, she buried her face in the pillow out of annoyance.

"Enaku cool drinks la yedhayo kalandhu kuduthu ipdi panitinga la!" Sivaangi grumbled, "Thangamm, nerla vandhadhum ongala yenna panren nu parunga!"

Sivaangi didn't stop with Rakshan. She went on scolding all her brothers and Baba Baskar also, for letting Ashwin send her away.

"Huh, na thirumba Chennai vandhadhum Ashwin thavira onga yarutayum pesa maten!"

Sivaangi jerked when she heard a knock.

"Papa?"

"Idho varen neyy" Sivaangi said and walked to the door.

"Ashwin" Pugazh said as soon as Sivaangi opened the door.

Pugazh extended his mobile and Sivaangi stared at the old Nokia mobile for a moment before getting it from her brother with a nod. He gave her a quick smile and walked away. Closing the door, she sat down on the bed and put the mobile on her ear.

There was silence from both sides until Sivaangi heard Ashwin heave a deep sigh followed by his, "Hello"

"Hmmm" Sivaangi hummed as she laid down on the bed.

"Saptiya?" Ashwin asked with a bit of hesitation in his voice.

"Hmmm" Sivaangi hummed again blinking back her tears.

"Sivaangi..."

"Hmmm"

"Kovama irukiya?" Ashwin asked.

"Ama" Sivaangi said resting her cheek on the pillow she was hugging before. She heard Ashwin heaving a sigh at the other end.

"Ipo na yenna nu sollatum?" Ashwin asked calmly.

"Enaku yepdi theriyum? Enta keta neenga yellam panringa? Inoru cool drink kuduka solunga, mayangiduren. Aprm neenga yedhuvum solla vendam, na kekavum vendam!" Sivaangi snapped losing her cool.

There was silence from the other end.

"Yean amaidhiya irukinga? Yethachum pesunga" Sivaangi said, her voice breaking, "Neenga enta solli, na pola nu adampidichu neenga Pugazh anna kuda anupivitrundha kuda parava ila..." Sivaangi's voice shivered.

"Sivaangi..."

"Onga kuda, onga nenjulla saanju thoonguren nu nenapula dhan kanna mudunen. Mulicha neenga ila nu therincha apo dhurama anupitinga nu purincha apo enaku yepdi irundhuchu nu theriyuma?"

"Alaadha di" Ashwin sounded low but Sivaangi let her tears out. He stayed mum for a couple of minutes letting her cry.

"Idho, idhuku dhan. Nee aluguradha paaka vendam nu dhan thoonga vachu anupunen!" Ashwin snapped hearing Sivaangi cry, "Nee pesama aludhute iru, na phone ah vaikuren!"

Sivaangi blinked when Ashwin ended the call and cried. The other side Ashwin groaned and buried his face in his palm. He has been on his feet the whole day going here and there with no proper sleep, trying to fix things here. The last thing he needed is to hear his wife cry.

Rubbing his face in his palms, Ashwin sat straight and called Pugazh's number again. Sivaangi picked the call but kept mum.

"Sorry" Ashwin said in a soft tone.

"Ena yepo vandhu kuptu povinga?" Sivaangi asked in a low voice.

"Seekiram, evlo vegama mudiyumoh, avlo vegama" Ashwin said calmly and added, "Unaku matum dhan ena vitutu iruka kastama iruku nu nenakuriya? Enakum nee ilama iruka kastama irukum nu thonalaya?"

"Apo kudayeh katti pidichu vachukalam la?" Sivaangi asked in a longing tone.

"Na kaaranam ilama yedhuvum seiya maten nu theriyum la?" Ashwin sighed.

"Enoda Chithapa prachana pannuraara? Avar-" Sivaangi started but Ashwin cut her in middle.

"Enn ta ipo yedhuvum kekadha di. Na solra nelamai la illa. Koncha naal Pugazh, Benzy kuda iruku. Maximum one week. Adhukula na unna vandhu kuptu poren. Adhuvaraikum enta pesanum, poganum nu adam pannama irukanum. Puriyudha?"

"Ashwinn ye-"

"Ena nambura la, Sivaangi?" Ashwin asked in a stern tone.

"Ama"

"Apo na sonna padi irukanum. Purinchuko"

Sivaangi stayed mum for a couple of seconds before she opened her mouth.

"Enaku neenga ilama empty ah feel agudhu Ashwineyy" Sivaangi said hugging the pillow in her embrace.

"Hmmm"

"Na evlo feel panni sollitu iruken, neenga yenna da na hmmm ah? Huh!" Sivaangi scoffed.

"Nee feel panni sonnadha dhan ketutu feel panitu iruken" Ashwin muttered and Sivaangi couldn't hear properly.

"Ahn?"

"Adha vidu. Unaku vali yedhuvum ila la?" Ashwin asked concerned.

Sivaangi contemplated whether she should tell her lower abdomen pain to Ashwin given he's already tensed with other issues. BUT she knows that she shouldn't keep this away from him. What if it gets worse? If she tells him later then he would be pissed. Plus, she isn't comfortable sharing about this with anyone else than him.

"Ashwineyy, onnu sollanum"

"Yenna? Pain inum iruka?" Ashwin asked concerned.

"Adhu yenna nu therla aana anaiku night aprm irundhu lower abdomen la oru stabbing pain. Enaku idhu normal ah ipdi dhana ila idhu vera yedhuvuma nu therla. Keela soreness kuda koranchuruchu aana indha pain irundhute iruku" Sivaangi said slowly.

"Enta nethu morning eh sollirukalam la" Ashwin sighed.

"Sollren la enaku idhu normal ah ila vera yedhuva nu therla nu" Sivaangi said.

"Seri, yartayum sonniya?"

"Ongala thavira na vera yaru ta solla?" Sivaangi sighed.

"Seri, Benz-" Ashwin started but Sivaangi cut him in middle.

"Venam! Avangaluku inum kalyanam kuda agala. Athuvum idha pathi pesa enaku kuchama iruku, Ashwineyy" Sivaangi whined.

Ashwin thought for a second and said,

"Anga Manimegalai nu oru sooniyam irukum la. Avang-"

"Yedhu, sooniyam ah?" Sivaangi can't help but chuckle despite everything.

"Ama, adhu oru sooniya kelavi dhan. Avanga ta sollu" Ashwin said.

"Ila, enak-"

"Psch! Yenna panudhu nu lam solla vendam. Hospital ku kuda vara sollu, na Pugazh ta sollren hospital kuptu poga solli"

Sivaangi thought for a second and agreed.

"Romba valikudha?"

"Ila bearable dhan. Seri agiruven"

"Hmmm, seri, na phone ah vaikava?"

"Namma room la ya irukinga?" Sivaangi asked.

"Illa" Ashwin said and knowing what Sivaangi would ask, he added, "Master edathula iruken unn annanunga kuda"

"Hmmm"

"Thoongu di"

"Enaku neenga ilama thookam varala" Sivaangi whined and said truthfully, "All I can feel is your touch on me. Enaku onga warmth venum thoonguradhuku"

Ashwin sighed and ended up talking with Sivaangi until she fell asleep. His body was aching and he was damn tired but not wanting to leave her sleepless, he ended up staying till late. He roughly had some five hours of sleep before he had to get up and deal with his issue.

The next day Pugazh took Sivaangi and Manimegalai to the hospital. Doctor wrote down couple of tables for Sivaangi and suggested her to take a culture test if the pain remained after completion of medicines. Doctor assured her that its normal after first intimacy and asked to take proper pre and post hygiene routine after their love making.

Ashwin called Sivaangi to check up on her after her hospital visit. He listened patiently and asked her to take rest. Sivaangi had a good time with Husein and Manimegalai as they teased each other. She was paranoid yesterday as she couldn't come with terms to Ashwin's absence, her anxiety acting up. But now, she's calm, knowing that her husband will come back to take her with him soon.

At evening, Sivaangi was watching movie along with Benzy and Manimegalai when Pugazh gave his mobile to her saying Ashwin's on the line. She got the mobile, moved to her room and placed the mobile on her ear enthusiastically but frowned when Ashwin straight away asked if she wants him or her father's inheritance startling her.

"Idhu yenna kelvi, neenga dhan Ashwin" Sivaangi replied and added, "Aana enoda appa kastam pattu sambathichadhu, enaku illa na parava illa aana undeserving person ta poe enoda appa hardwork ah asinga paduthura mathiri person ta poga kudathu"

Sivaangi frowned and shrugged when Ashwin hung up the call without any answer. Remembering him asking her not to pry into the issue, she put her trust on him and decided not to overthink.

Twisting her lips, Sivaangi went out, returned the mobile to Pugazh before sitting down next to Benzy and continued watching the comedy movie they were watching as she munched on popcorns.

There Ashwin tried to hide that he's anxious but the way he's pacing back and forth gave away to his friends that he's indeed anxious. After Sivaangi's call from hospital visit, Sandy informed him that Master, Anthony Das and Santosh are going to meet.

Sandy also said that Master didn't want Ashwin to come to the meeting. Rather he will be on the next door and will come out only if Master asks. Apparently, Santosh is bringing an ex-cop called Muthukumar who is familiar to both Master and Anthony.

Master agreed for the meeting because he didn't want to stretch the issue and solve it as soon as he can without both Ashwin and Sivaangi getting into trouble. If talk won't work then he will have to be the bad guy and protect them, which he isn't afraid of.

By evening they reached Master's godown area from Master's house. Ashwin stayed in the adjacent room along with Rakshan, Sarath and Sanjay while Master's men were out with them.

Ashwin clenched his fist anxiously as Santosh arrived with his friend Gowtham and ex-cop Muthukumar and his men. He listened patiently as they started to talk about Sivaangi to Master and Anthony.

A scoff escaped Ashwin's lips when he heard Muthukumar saying that all Santosh needs is for his sister to return back. He added that Santosh's family is already tensed as Ramakrishna is imprisoned and with Sivaangi's disappearance, they are really worried.

"Naanga yenamoh onga ponna vamba pidichu vacha mathiri pesuringa" Master was loud, "Valukattayama kalyanam panni vaika pathrukinga, thappichu vandhruka. Neenga sonna mathiri ava tholanchu pola, thapichu oodi vandhruka!"

"Inga paarunga, Baba Baskar, indha vishayam nadakura apo na India la illa. Irundhrundha nadaka vitruka maten. Enoda appa panna thappu, na adha seri seiyanum nu nenakuren. Avlo dhan"

"Avlo dhan ah? Apo ava soththu, athu kaga onga appa ivlo um pannare, adhu?"

"Ava soththu enaku thevai ila!" Santosh gritted his teeth, "Enala suyama sambathika mudiyum! Neenga avala anupunga, na avala pathukuren"

The discussion went on a while with Santosh trying to convince Master that his intention with Sivaangi isn't bad. Growing tired, Santosh started to threaten Master to take this issue legally leading to everyone raising their voice at each other.

Ashwin was completely pissed off. He quickly called Pugazh and asked him to pass the mobile to Sivaangi. When she greeted him, he right away asked her if she wants him or her inheritance and after listening to her, he hung up.

Rakshan got alarmed when Ashwin stride towards the door and held him back.

"Machi, vendam da. Master solra vara wait pannu" Rakshan said pulling Ashwin from the door.

"Vidu da!"

"Dei, amaidhiya iru da" Sanjay pulled him back too.

"Avala ongata vachuka yenna urimai iruku ongaluku! Ava enn periappa ponnu, enaku dhan urimai iruku!" Santosh snapped.

Baba Baskar caressed his beard before chuckling at Santosh.

"Avala unn kuda anupa enaku urimai ila!"

"Psh! Yenna Muthukumar, ivaru ipdi pesitu irukaru!" Santosh glared at Master who glared right back at him.

"Master, yenna maathi maathi istathuku pesitu irukinga?" Muthukumar asked sternly, "Neenga la anupala na aprm prachana agirum pathukonga!"

"Avala onga kuda anupa yarukum urimai ila!"

They all turned to right to look at Ashwin who stepped out of the room.

"Ava mela enaku matum dhan mulu urimai iruku!" Ashwin said with loud and clear as he walked towards them before standing in between Master side and Santosh's side. He looked at a bewildered Santosh and added, "Ena thaandi enn pondatti ah evan kuptu poran nu naanum pakuren!"
