The Kingdoms of England and Portugal, the United Kingdom and the Portuguese Republic - throughout history, the British and Portuguese have been by each other's sides. An alliance has brought the representations of these nations together in friendship. This anthology will walk through the good times and the bad times, the promises and betrayals, that have befallen the two families through the centuries.A fair warning for the following is necessary. This book will contain, in minimized but necessary amounts: romance (never between countries) and all the woes that come with it; death and destruction; offensive language and terminology (only from the characters, and also minimized unless absolutely necessary); empires being racists and womanizers (ewww, but I have to include it) ; and more.Additionally, make a note that a relatively high level of reader maturity is needed to fully enjoy and understand this book. By this I mean: taking serious issues seriously, putting thought into the questions posed, considering why every choice has been made before criticising it, and, most certainly, not being offensive towards others (you are welcome to yell at the racist colonisers in this story, just not myself or any other readers).For example: I am aware that colonisers and generally terrible regimes will be portrayed in a positive light. This is because many 'good' people did bad things, and the vice versa. No one is black or white in terms of morality, and I expect the reader to be able to differentiate between what should and should not be idolized, praised, or admired.All in all, have a great day, and please enjoy the emotional rollercoaster to come. :D

A bell soundsA beautiful village over thousands of years old was in the midst of a dense forest of pine trees on the slope of a tall mountain. This hamlet was home to tall, gorgeous men and women with dark blue eyes, blond hair, and white skin color. They had no idea of their background, and if someone asked them about it, they would only gaze at the sky in horror, as if they were terrified of something vague and mysterious up there. They didn't dare to talk about their village or their background.On moonlight nights, when the sun had set behind the high mountains, the awful sound of a bell echoed in the mountains. When the bell rang, even the animals in the pen shouted and raced up and down, as if they knew or saw something people couldn't see or comprehend. They were rushing around in fear, wanting to flee the hamlet, but after a few minutes, when the bell stopped ringing, everyone fell silent and just waited for time to pass. No one knew anything about the bell or its connection with moonlight nights. The elders of the village said that when the bell rings on moonlight nights, red dust first covers the surface of the moon, and after a while when the moon hides behind dark clouds, demons descend from the sky in groups and clusters. They would roam the mountains and nearby valleys and through the forest near the hamlet and farms until late at night. When the bell rang again, all the demons howled and flew simultaneously into the sky.The mountains were cursed, and the deep valley at its base was known as the Valley of Death.
