I escape through my creative writing and art. Many people tell me to show this world what I am actually made of but I was afraid of how people would react to my writing. This is my time to come out the shadows before I chicken out.

"Ezekiel listen, I know it's hard to accept that she isn't 5 years old anymore," Mami began, "But at the end of the day, Desiree is 17. She's nearing graduation, then soon enough college and then soon enough she'll be out of the house." Mami's tone was soft, like the one she used to talk to Andreas and Lucia whenever they did something wrong. "You know she's getting older, we should let her out of the house at least once. I mean, if it's what she really wants," Mami glanced over at me before lowering her tone so much it became a whisper, "then you should let her soar the city."*************As the oldest sibling, Desiree Herrera (or Dedé, courtesy of Mami) has been granted with the most extravagant gift from her father - little to no freedom. The most "freedom" she gets (which isn't technically freedom, but is instead a basic human right) is going to the park across the street from her family's supermarket for her lunch break, until those 45 minutes are over and she's back to working, then back to her father's car once her shift ends and finally, back to her cramped home. But as she grows older, Desiree seeks more than just a 5 minute walk to a jampacked park everyday; she seeks real freedom - much to her father's disapproval. Desiree won't stop searching for this freedom though, because if it's what she really wants, then she should be allowed to soar the city.

I live on a lone street near Quebec, it's a contry-like area. There's a so-called 'haunted house' here but the creeps seem to rather live in a normal house and watch me through the blinds in my living room. I work at Cogs & Gears which is a little glasswork shop in downtown Quebec. I hate my job but it's the best-paying job I can manage, so I guess I'm stuck with it. But my life's not all bad, I have a great view out my window. I have lots of passions and hobbies, like gardening. And catching rats in the creek at the back of my backyard.Author's note : The main character's name, gender, age, etc is unknown.
