This is my ONC submission for prompt 23: They were not real, everyone told me they were not real. But why are they here? Why are they trying to talk to me? Why are they calling me the ONE? Why are they staring at me like that?Avery had been bullied in first grade, for she has a broken leg. After watching a video about a monster, she says that the monster already got to her bully. Nothing changes. The Inequality Monster, which is what she called it, is on the loose, leaving her on her own to hopefully catch it. After going through a portal, she goes face-to-face with the monster since she's The One, according to society.If she fails, the entire world is in danger, and the blame will be on her. Will she be able to find help or be solely on her own to attempt to defeat the monster? Or it can also be called the city of demons, Mato.In Mato, there lived a group of monsters named Yomotsu Shuuki, they were a group of monsters that would attack humans they saw.So what does this have to do with gender equality which no longer exists?The answer is that the level of power between men and women is very unequal.In Mato, there is a peach that will give strength to those who eat it. But only women get strength, while for men no matter how much they eat the fruit they will not get strength.
