The sun gently traced her delicate skin while she peeked through the dusty windows. Her fingertips hovered over the desk, tracing the old wood's worn surface and she sighed deeply in delight, enjoying her alone-time by herself, breathing in and out softly with closed eyes.

Betty Cooper, Riverdale's very own girl next door, was sitting in one of the creaky chairs in the middle of the Blue and Gold, Riverdale High's news paper office. She wasn't expecting anyone, nor was she willing to be disturbed. She was simply taking a little time for herself, enjoying her only time of the day where she didn't need to engage in conversations, nod and listen to other people, and hear her best friend talk about the oh-so-very important problems in her love life.

Don't get Betty wrong. She loved her friends, she loved socializing and she adored her best friends, but it was also relaxing to just sit and be alone for a while, to hear the tapping of her fingertips against her computer andย  let her mind break free.

Betty was a good girl. Like those who appeared in movies or books, those who the whole story always circled around but were interesting anyways because they all were told in different ways and in different words. But it was still just that. She was still just that basic, plain good girl no one got dissapointed in and who had too much pressure weighing her down by her shoulders.

It may have sounded very dramatic and sad, but she was who she was and she was most likely always going to be that kind of person. Maintaining high grades, getting supported by friends and family and having her whole life already at the age of only 17 planned out to the fullest.

She knew where she wanted to go after graduating, she knew what to study and look for in her life. She knew she just needed to keep going in the same direction, and everything would be fine. Her whole planned life would succesfully come through just the way she planned it, without any distractions.

But oh boy, was she wrong.
