_

I'm awoken by a blaring noise sound close to my ear. Cringing, I roll over to the other side of my bed, covering my head with my duvet, in attempts of blocking out the sounding alarm.

A few seconds later, I throw my blanket off of me, in fury of not being able to dilute the noise. The intense sunlight beams down onto my eyes, making it difficult for me to open them.

I reach behind me, my eyes still fixed shut, attempting to turn the alarm off blindly.

"Will," I groan, rubbing my eyes, protecting them from the harsh brightness."Could you please shut the alarm up!"

I wait for the stopping of the noise intently, considering that Will is always the first to wake up from the alarm.

After a few seconds, I furrow my eyebrows, due to still hearing the obnoxious squeals coming from beside me.

"Will!" I say a little louder this time before finally deciding to force my eyes open.

I turn around, expecting to see Will. However laying in his bed, is Mike Wheeler.

I contort my face in confusion, however just seconds later it melts away, turning into a giddy smile.

I shut the alarm clock off; Mike is still fast asleep, not affected by the screeching sound.

I've been a light sleeper all my life. Always on edge, worrying about the unknown. I know that's not normal, but with my life and my past, it's just become my normal.

I lay my head back into my pillow and close my eyes, still grinning.

Yesterday was incredible. I had a fantastic date with Mike. We laughed, talked, and I felt our bond grow stronger. The dinner was amazing, and we were all blown away by Joyce's cooking. Though she had to admit that she had asked Mrs. Wheeler for a few tips and tricks, which made all of us laugh. Dinner continued happily and the gloomy sense which once filled the room while we were exchanging what we were thankful for, had disappeared and was forever forgotten about.

By the end of the night, I was so emotionally drained, from all the excitement, laughs and tears shed, that I fell right asleep. Forgetting completely about the fact that Mike was sleeping in the same room as me.

I look over at Mike. He is facing me, however, his eyes are still glued shut. His blanket is pulled up just above his nose, letting the freckles under his eyes still noticeable. His black hair is tousled around messily, and I can hear his soft breathing against the sheet.ย

I smile at the view of him, amazed by how he can look so adorable without even trying.

Today Will and I will be taking Mike to school with us. I used to imagine how it would be when I would finally be able to go to school with him โ€” us walking down the Hawkin Highschool Hallways hand in hand, blending in with every other typical teenager. But now that's all different, and I'm scared. Scared for him to see me uncomfortable and insecure, the way I usually do in school. I don't want him to feel bad about having to leave me tomorrow which I dont even want to start thinking about. The thought of that makes my heart sink, and I feel as if I'll lose a part of me again when he leaves.

However, today is the one day; we can act as a regular teenage couple, and going to school together.

"Good Morning," Mike croaks from across the room, shaking me out of my thoughts.

I look over at him, greeting him with a smile. "Morning."

"What time is it?" he asks me, rubbing his eyes.

I look over at the alarm clock, trying to the depict numbers. "six four five."

I shake my head. "I mean six forty-five," I say correcting myself.

He smiles at me as if telling me he is proud, and I smile back at him cheekily.

"We have 30 minutes until we need to leave, so we better get up.", I say stretching my arms in the air.

He nods at me in response yawning and throwing the sheets off him, revealing his white v-neck shirt and blue boxers.

I get out of my bed, Mike sits on his bed, for a few more seconds, still trying to wake up. I slip on my loafers and head towards the bathroom. Though when I reach for the door, I stop, turning around and heading back towards Mike.

I smile as I near him, reaching over his bed to plant a soft kiss on his lips.

"Almost forgot," I mumble against his lips.

I move away, winking at him before I walk away. His whole face has turned tomato red; however, he is grinning from ear to ear.

-ย

After brushing my teeth, I walk back into my room, Mike is already gone, which probably means he's already prepared for school and in the kitchen.

The complete opposite of Will.

I decide to wear a grey knit skirt, with a simple white sweater and beige colored ugg boots. The temperatures had dropped since yesterday, and it is really starting to feel like fall.

I walk into the Kitchen, seeing Nancy, Jonathan and Mike surround the Island, sitting on the bar stools. Joyce is standing over by the Fridge, pulling out beverages and packing our snacks.

Jonathan and I have been telling her that this isn't necessary and that we can manage packing our own lunches, but she insists.

"Good morning, El!" Joyce speaks while closing the fridge and leaning against the kitchen counter. "Sleep well?"

I nod, smiling at her in response.

I look over to see Mike, drinking a glass of milk, and next to him is a free bar stool.

Infront of it lays a plate with two lightly toasted eggos on it. He pats down on the chair, signaling me to sit, I smile at him and oblige.

"I- I wasn't sure what you wanted to drink," he starts, nervously picking at his fingers. "but I thought you'd like eggos considering-"

I cut him off by kissing him on the cheek quickly, in attempts of not having everyone see it. His body jerks, out of shock, making him spill a little of his Milk on the counter. He grins and I smirk at him in response, beginning to munch down on my eggo.

"What is taking Will so long?" Joyce exclaims, throwing her hands in the air as she heads down the hallway to his room.

Jonathan and Nancy have already finished eating and are clearing their plates, I watch Jonathan walkover to Nancy, wrapping his arm around her, and planting a short kiss on her lips. He walks away to his room. Nancy smiles, looking down at the floor.

I hear Mike, snort, as he bites down on his eggo.

Nancy looks up at him, with an offended look written all over her face."Mike dont even start with me!".

Mike looks up at her, dropping his ego, and throwing his hands in the air innocently. "What?!"

"Oh, you know what!" she snaps at him. "I get it okay, you guys love each other, but you and El were kissing each other at the table last night, and you guys are like what 14?"

I sense a sudden heat arise in my face, almost forgetting about everyone having watched our pretty intimate moment yesterday.
"So don't even start with me okay?!", she finishes.

Mike says nothing for a few seconds.

"You're right," I answer, looking over at Mike who is staring daggers into the kitchen counter, he's checks turning more red with every passing second. "He's sorry, right mike?"

He doesnt say anything.

"But I gotta admit," Nancy starts smirking down at Mike. "You guys are pretty cute."

"Nancy just go!", Mike mumbles, clearly still drowning in embarrassment.ย

"Mike Wheeler the hopeless romantic," she continues mockingly, placing her hands on her cheeks.

"Nancy!", he exclaims, making me laugh a little.

She winks at me laughingly as she leaves the room.

By now, Mike has his face buried in his hands on the countertop.

"Hey," I start softly reaching for his arm.

He glances up at me.

"It's okay," I say comfortingly.

He sighs, a smile growing on his face as he nods.

"You're right," he responds, grabbing onto my hand with his other hand. "I just hate it when she teases me."

"Trust me I get it," I answer laughingly. "I have two brothers! I've just gotten used to it."

We laugh, as we see Will storm down the hallway, carrying one shoe in his hand. The other is on his foot, however, untied, causing him to limp into the kitchen. Jonathan and Nancy follow him as they walk out to the door.

"Let's go!" Jonathan says, signaling us to follow.

I shove the rest of the eggo into my mouth as I reach for my backpack and follow them out the door.

"Bye guys have a good day!" Joyce yells after us.

-

While walking out to Jonathan's car, I observe Mike's outfit. He's wearing dark grey jeans and a thin grey sweater, with a white collared shirt pulled over the top of it. I'm not used to him dressing like this, it seems more mature and grown-up, but I like it.

Nancy and Jonathan get in the front of the car, and I sit in the middle between Mike and Will.

Jonathan starts to back out of the driveway, while Mike reaches down for my hand, intertwining them.

"Wheelers welcome to our morning ritual," Will announces as he reaches over Nancy's seat nudging Jonathan and making him laugh.

Mike looks at me, furrowing his eyebrows; I roll my eyes. "Seriously guys, can't we skip a day!"

But its no use. I watch as Will leans over me, turning up the music and 'the clash' starts playing.

Will and Jonathan start jamming and bouncing around in their seats as Nancy watches them in hysteria.

Mike and I face each other and giggle, as I rest my head in the crook of his neck. Even with the blaring music, I feel calm and at peace, right here on his shoulder.

-

As we pull up infront of the school, Nancy takes in a big sigh of relief. "Thank god! My ears where about to blow off my head!"

Jonathan and Will laugh as we all step out of the car.

We start to head towards the school entrance, as Jonathan stops infront of us. "Okay, you guys know to be here at-"

"2.30 on the dot", Will and I respond plainly in unison.

Nancy chuckles as she grabs his arm, leading him into the building.

"I've got first lesson chem," Will says, walking next to Mike and I. "See you guys later."

We smile at him, and as he waves us goodbye.

As we reach the front doors, Mike looks down at my hand, reaching for it and squeezing it comfortingly. Our eyes meet, and we smile at each other as we push open the doors.

-

Our hands automatically disconnect as we walk into class, being greeted by Ms.Harold, Will's not so favorite teacher. However today he doesnt have her. For him, it's a Thanksgiving miracle.

I dont even think she's that bad of a teacher, she very friendly; nevertheless, she can be strict, which Will doesn't really like.
Teachers seem to like me here; I've unintentionally become what Will says is a 'teacher's pet.'

She smiles at the sight of me, "Good morning, Jane!".

I smile in response. "Morning Ms.Harold"

Her glance switches over to Mike. "Ah, and you must young man must be our visitor, Michael Wheeler!"

"Its Mike. But yes", he states uncomfortably.

"Okay then, welcome Mike, and we hope you enjoy your day at BH!", she finishes by clapping her hands together.

We smile at her warmly and head towards two free desks situated infront of each other to the left of the classroom. As we sit down, I start to scan the room, hoping to recognize Valerie, however shes nowhere to be seen. I position my self back to the front of the class as Ms.Harold begins her lecture, I swiftly look behind me to see Mike looking directly at me grinning. I quickly turn back around, not wanting Ms. Harold to notice, trying my hardest to focus on the words coming out of Ms.Harold's mouth, however finding it nearly impossible.

Mike is sitting right behind me, and I can't talk or look at him. It feels like torture, I can feel his eyes on me, making me grin down at my notebook.

-

After class, we rush out, and our hands instantly meet like magnets attracted to each other.

We walk towards my locker, meeting up with Will. Mike and Will talk for a few seconds about a DnD game they are supposedly planning to play after school.
As I glance down the hallway, I see a girl with ash black hair, wearing all black, walk towards me.

"Valerie!" I exclaim waving towards her. She smiles accumulating speed as she runs up to me.

It's funny. She dresses like the stereotypical emo girl. However, she is one of the sweetest girls I've ever met.

"Valerie this is my brother Will," I say, pointing at Will as she reaches my locker.

They smile at each other, warmly.

A few seconds later, her stare switches over to Mike.

Noticing this, I begin to speak, trying to figure out what exactly to say."And this is Mike, my boyfriend," I say shyly.

"Nice to meet you," she replies in a sweet tone. "I've heard a lot about you."

"Really..." he asks, in an almost nervous and concerned tone.

I nudge her playfully as she laughs. "Oh dont worry. Only good things, of course."

"Okay I'm going to go show Mike around a little bit, I want to introduce him to someone."

I raise my eyebrows, "Oh, Okay."

Mike looks at me before giving me a quick hug.
Since Mike has gotten here, I never want to let him out of my sight. But I know that this is a normal part of teenage couples lives, and I need to be able to give him some space, even if that means needing to miss him for every second we are apart.

"See you guys in third period," Valerie yells after them as we watch them walk away.

-

Valerie and I decide to sit on one of the benches outside, laying our snacks down on the table infront of us. I spot Mike and Will, talking to a boy with curly brown hair. I notice Will, with a massive smile on his face.

"Sooo," Valerie begins in a questioning tone. "That's the polaroid boy?"

I look back at her and sigh. "Yep"

"How was yesterday?" she asks me.

"It was perfect," I sigh. "He took me on a date and surprised me with this"

I bring my hand up to her face revealing the ring he had given me.

"How cute a promise ring!", she awes as she examines the ring

"What was he promising?", she says smirkingly.

I look down at the ring, twisting it around on my finger.

"Well... you know."

She raises her eyebrows at me, signaling me to continue.

"...his love."

I look up, seeing Mike look away from Will and the mystery boy, as he scans the campus until his eyes lock with mine. He smiles softly at me, making me switch my glance down onto the bench, my face turning a deep shade of red.

"Awww you guys are so cute!"

I roll my eyes at her, and we laugh, starting to unpack our meals.

"You know, tonight there is this house party being hosted by a really nice girl in our grade..", she begins while chewing down on her sandwich.

I furrow my eyebrows. "What's a house party?"

"Well, basically, exactly what it sounds like. A party at someone's house", she explains, sounding surprised by my lack of familiarity with it.

"You've never been to one?" she asks.

I shake my head.

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go? "We can go with Mike and Will as well."

I stare down at my sandwich, unsure of how to answer.

I'm still anxious when going to any social gatherings and anything related to having a lot of people around me. I continuously hear Hops voice in the back of my head telling me to be careful. And when I do things, he would not have allowed me to do, and I feel as if I'm disobeying him.

However, I know that was a different time, and things have changed. I need to be more open to experiencing things in life. Because if I dont, I will never become into my own person.

Also, it gives Mike and me a chance. It is our chance, to be normal, and be typical teenagers, even if it is for just one night.

I look up at her, smiling.

"Okay sure"
