Third Person's POV

"Remember class, the Genin exams will be in 3 days! Please make the most of your time practicing and studying everything you've learned here in the academy, okay?" Iruka announced, the students answered him with a 'Yes sensei!' and they were dismissed. All the students went to do what they want to do, some went home or somewhere to train and some went to hang out. Naruto walked out of the classroom passing by a few other students

"Hey it's him, the dead last of the grade!"
"He's gonna fail that's for sure"
"Someone like him can't be a ninja"

Naruto, who is already a lower A-rank ninja at 12, heard the conversation. He turned to look at them with an innocent look, the other students noticed him and glared at him or made a disgusted face

"What are you looking at?" one of them asked meanly, Naruto just gave them his trademark grin and said
"I'm gonna become Hokage, ya know!" with that, he left, leaving the students to do whatever.

Naruto went to one of the training grounds, placing a seal on a 3 kilometer perimeter to notify him if anyone were to go there. He then started training.

"Finally, you can get out of that place and show your true skills" Naruto sighed
"I know right.. everything in the academy was basic and boring that I had to sleep through class" Naruto said as he threw a few shuriken, then it was Kurama's turn to sigh

"And because of you sleeping through class I had to keep an eye out and miss my sleep" he said as he crossed his arms, Naruto laughed as he threw a kunai to the target

"You lazy ass fox"

"You annoying brat"

They insult each other showing how close they are. Naruto did a few signs and said
"Futon: Daitoppa (Wind release: Great Breakthrough)" he blows out a powerful blast of wind that cuts a few trees, his seals reacted telling him that someone was coming. Naruto formed a sign and said
"Kai (Release)" dispelling the seals he placed and used the Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique) disappearing in leaves out of the training ground. He relocated in an alleyway and made his way home. He passed by the academy and saw Mizuki. Mizuki noticed Naruto and waved at him, Naruto returned the wave and smiled. Then they went to their business

"I sense hatred from that guy" Kurama noted as Naruto nodded
"He clearly hates us" Naruto glanced back at Mizuki who was clenching his fist and smirking evilly. 'I have to keep an eye on him' he thought, Kurama nodded in agreement.

For the past 3 days, all of the graduating students trained and studied what they learned at the academy, except for a certain blonde who trained A-rank and lower techniques and only had to read the history and basic information once as a review.

It was finally the day of the exams. The students took their usual spot in the classroom for the written exam. Iruka handed each student a test paper, he went to the front and announced

"1 hour starts now!"

Then all the students started writing their names and answered. Some were struggling and others answered okay while Naruto answered his test for only 15 minutes. He turned his paper around for the back to be shown placed his pencil at the side and rested his head on his desk
'Wake me up when it's over Kurama' he said in his mind as he drifted to sleep. Kurama looked mad since his sleep was interrupted but took a look out anyway for his host. Iruka noticed Naruto asleep and frowned, 'I hope it's not a blank sheet..' he thought then continued to watch over the students.

The written exam was finally over, as Iruka collected the test papers and counted it to double check that all students passed their papers, the students were talking with each other, talking about the test they just took. Kurama didn't even bother to wake his host since Naruto couldn't care less. Iruka then explained about the showcase of skills part of the exam, Kurama woke Naruto and Naruto listened to Iruka with a frown, since they are to be called in alphabetical order, Naruto decided to sleep again pissing Kurama off who only sleeped for a few seconds.

A few momemts later, Kurama woke Naruto since it was his turn, Naruto stood up and went outside for the test of Bukijutsu (Weapon Techniques) specifically, the test for Shurikenjutsu, where all they had to do was to try and throw their kunai and shuriken to the target. Nobody watched him since they didn't really care about him, well, except for a certain Hyūga. Naruto walked to the center, a certain distance away from the targets and from the teachers watching. Naruto saw Iruka and Mizuki,

"That Mizuki is up to something" Kurama pointed out
'Yeah..' Naruto agreed with Kurama in his mindscape, he took about four shuriken from his pouch, did a stance and threw them sloppily, making two hit the target's center while one hit the target a few points away from the center while the other one missed. He then took two kunai from his holster and threw 1 missing the target and the other one near the center. As he finished and left he saw Mizuki smirking slightly. Naruto furrowed his brows as he walked back to the classroom.

It was time for the Ninjutsu test and it was Naruto's turn, this time his spectators were only Iruka and Mizuki.
"Okay Naruto, create 3 clones" Naruto formed the sign ready to do the Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique) but noticed Mizuki looking at him intently, he then used 0.1% of his chakra making a pale clone that was sloppy who ended up wobbling to the floor.
"You fail!" Iruka announced, Mizuki stepped towards Iruka and said
"Oh come on Iruka.. at least he made a single clone"
"Exactly. A single clone. He was supposed to make 3 clones but only made 1" he stated, Naruto acted like he was sad and went out of the classroom. Kurama in his mindscape was extremely mad

"What was that kit?! Why'd you do that?!" he yelled at his host

'It's Mizuki-sensei.. I think he's up to something..'

"I get that, but you didn't have to purposely fail"

'No, I think I really had to fail' Kurama looked at Naruto with a questioned look
'If I'm right then he must be planning something involving me..' he assumed, Kurama calmed down and sighed

"Whatever, I trust you kit"

Outside of the academy the students with a Konoha forehead protector showed that they passed the test and are offically Genin. Parents were proud and some looked at Naruto sitting at the swing and gossiped. Naruto didn't give a damn since he's focused on Mizuki's intentions. Speak of the devil, Mizuki appeared by Naruto's side and brought hin somewhere. They then had a talk about the exams

"You know.. there's another way for you to pass the exams" Kurama furrowed his brows while inner Naruto did the same. Naruto then looked at Mizuki curiously
"There is?" he asked
"Yeah. Want me to tell you?"
"Please tell me Mizuki-sensei!" Mizuki slightly smirked evilly but smiled
"All you have to do is to steal the Scroll of Seals from the Hokage's office and learn one jutsu from there" Narto smiled and stood up
"Really?" Mizuki nodded
"Then I'll do it!"
"Okay. Meet me at the forest around midnight with the scroll, I'll help you out" he stood up and smiled
"Thank you Mizuki-sensei!" Mizuki smirked evilly for a while but Naruto noticed it.

It was night time and Naruto sneaked into the Hokage's office.
'So that was his plan'

"Right. Careful kit, you might get caught" Kurama warned, Naruto only smirked
"It's fine, I stole it once so I can steal it again" Naruto said remembering when he was a 4 year old he stole that same scroll to learn the techniques inside that piqued his interest. As he took the huge scroll he shunshined out of the Hokage's office and reappeared in the forest to wait for Mizuki. Naruto went to a tree's trunk and sat cross-legged.

"So? What are you gonna do?" Kurama asked, Naruto crossed his arms and closed his eyes and said a 'hhmmm...' then he opened his eyes
"Show off a little maybe" Naruto said grinning in excitement. Kurama did the same and the both of them waited.

After Hiruzen announced that the Scroll of Seals was stolen, again. Iruka directly dashed to find Naruto. He went to the forest jumping from tree to tree and looked around, until he saw the spiky blonde haired boy with a large scroll at his side. Iruka dropped to the ground a fair few feet away from Naruto

"Naruto!" he called catching Naruto's attention, Naruto grinned and said
"Iruka-sensei! I learned one technique from here so can I take the exam again?" Iruka looked at the boy with a confused look
"What? Who told you that?" he asked
"Mizuki-sensei told me! That if you learn one technique here then I can pass and become a Genin!" Naruto explained while flailing his arms. Iruka then made an expression of realization, 'Don't tell me..'
"I can't believe you fell for that" a voice said, revealing Mizuki standing on a tree's branch.

"You really are stupid" Mizuki said as he grinned evilly
"M-Mizuki-sensei.. I can take the exam again right..?" Naruto asked nervously, Mizuki laughed crazily and said
"Naruto.. do you know why people hate you?" this made Naruto show more curiousity, Iruka's expression showed fear
"You can't Mizuki!" despite Iruka telling him to stop Mizuki continued on
"That's because you are the Kyūbi" Naruto widened his eyes in fear
"K-Kyūbi..?"
"Yes. You killed a lot of people 12 years ago, even Iruka's parents. That's why he hates you"
"Stop it Mizuki!" Iruka shouted, then Naruto cried while holding the scroll

"Now Naruto.. give me the scroll"
"Don't do it Naruto!" Naruto only stayed put, not moving an inch. Mizuki didn't want to waste any time so he summoned a large shuriken and aimed it at Naruto
"Then I'll take it myself!" he then threw the shuriken at Naruto
"No!" Iruka ran to Naruto, 'Please make it in time!' he thought, but it was too late. The shuriken hit Naruto. Iruka's eyes widened and Mizuki smiled evilly only for their expressions to become a surprised one as Naruto and the scroll disappeared in smoke.

"I see now.." a voice said, the two academy teachers turned their head to the darkness, a figure was forming revealing Naruto
"Naruto..?"
"You demon brat.." Mizuki threw another large shuriken, Naruto took out a kunai as Iruka went in front of him and blocked the shuriken. This action surprised Naruto
"Sensei?"
"You're not the Kyūbi.. you're Uzumaki Naruto!" Naruto smiled, happy that his teacher acknowledged him
"Yeah!" Mizuki was shaking furiously
"Damn you!" he shouted as he threw plenty of shuriken only to be deflected by Naruto. Naruto turned to Iruka and grinned
"Iruka-sensei, just sit back and watch!" Iruka looked at him confused, Naruto looked at Mizuki and made a sign, 'That sign..' Mizuki thought

"Taju Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Multiple Shadow Clone Technique)" then about a thousand Naruto's appeared surprising Iruka and Mizuki
"Okay everyone! Let's beat him up!" one of the clone's shouted and the rest of the clone's shouted back in agreement beating Mizuki to a pulp.

A few moments later, Mizuki passed out and Naruto dispelled his Shadow Clones. He walked to Iruka who was exhausted
"You okay Iruka-sensei?" he asked worried about his teacher
"I'm fine.." Iruka answered, coincidentally Iruka had a forehead protector with him. He took it out and gave it to Naruto
"Huh?" Naruto stared at the headband in shock, Iruka laughed and said
"Congratulations! You graduate!" Naruto looked at Iruka then back at the headband then at Iruka and smiled with teary eyes
"Thank you Iruka-sensei!" he said as he took the forehead protector from Iruka's hand and wore it. After Mizuki was arrested they went to their own homes.

It was already dawn. Naruto woke up early and went to his balcony, he leaned on the railings and watched the sunrise.

"You're finally a Shinobi"

"Yeah.." a few moments later when the sun rose, Naruto stretched and tightened the tie of his forehead protector and looked at the horizon with determination
"It's time to show them.." he jumped off his balcony and did his trademark grin

"The real Uzumaki Naruto!"

Yeeyy!! He's a Genin alreadyy. I'm so proud of my boy😭 anyways, the fun starts here! Look forward to next chapter!
