XXXII

My adorable little red beans are extremely dangerous.

Deruth was experiencing the chills of a lifetime. Who would have guessed that the twins had anticipated the extent of everyone's movement around them? He shuddered at the way they smiled and calculatedly looked around at their movements.

Only thing is, he can't keep them safe right now because the King has summoned all household heads to the capital.

Violan would be powerless to protect them because the countess's authority is limited to household matters and not to the education of the prospective heirs.

He's caught in a bind.

"Don't worry," Cale said as he looked up at him. He was leaning against his chest, reading a book from who knows where. Rok, who was sitting across from them, seconded. They're far too composed.

"Cale will just beat them up if things don't go our way," Rok said innocently.

"No, that is your responsibility as the Hyung-nim."

"You're the trash between us."

"Then you're in the bin."

With the banter, all of his negative thoughts vanished. They're far too relaxed. He is the only one who is becoming paranoid. They will be safe as long as they remain in the county. The Branch families have no authority in his domain.

He sighed and leaned his chin over Cale's head. He looked at Rok, who was struggling with the lemon tea that Ron had given him. His sweet-toothed son had his fill of that lemon tea.

"Rok... Cale..."

Two reddish browns looked at him.

"What is it that you truly desire?"

A soft smile both decorated their lips, and the answer that he never thought he'd have was said out loud.

"A world made more beautiful." Cale smiled brightly. Rok finishes the sentence, "where there's happiness to watch."

.

Deruth left for the capital.

Rok was startled awake because hunger had suddenly visited him while he was sleeping.

"Where are you going?"

"Kitchen."

Cale stood up after looking at the small mechanical clock. His brother is prone to getting into mischief, so he might as well join him.

Rok chose Vicross's kitchen over all others. They are fed by the official kitchen, so there are the foods they enjoy.

Rok grabbed the wok, pressed the bellows, and sat on the chair; he's still small, so he can't reach the counter top or the stove. Cale kept a close eye on his brother's back. At times, that small frame appears to be quite wide and sturdy. Cale would have been very lonely if it hadn't been for this person.

"Come on over here."

Cale stood up, drew the high stool, and sat beside his busy cooking brother. Rok gave him a spoonful of fried rice. He'd never had anything like this before. It's simple and delicious.

"This is great!" he exclaims as he looks at Rok.

Rok smiled at him and clumsily placed it on one large plate, topped with two fried eggs. They sat at the counter, sharing a single plate.

It's been nine years since they've spent every day with each other.

"Hyung... I... intend to stay in the county... how about you?"

"I don't know," Rok said, looking at him.

Rok, unlike Cale, had no lingering attachments in this place.

"Perhaps travel around the world."

"However, you can't."

"Because our lives are intertwined?" Rok chuckled, "then either I stay here or you travel with me."

Cale was overcome with sadness. He doesn't want to prevent Rok from doing whatever he wants. He wishes for him to enjoy whatever brings him joy.

"And... it's not like we can't break the link," Rok replied, "but we're still two different people; you and I are siblings even if our bonds are broken."

Cale smiled and leaned on Rok's shoulder, wrapping his free hand around his waist.

It was a brief and soothing silence.

"What are you two doing?" Vicross inquired. Instead of becoming enraged, he smiled as he looked at the mess. "You should have called for me."

"Next time!" Rok says as he feeds his brother with his spoon. Vicross took out the 24-hour smoked sausages and placed them in front of them.

"Vicross, try this! Hyung's a good cook!"

Vicross examined the spoon that had been offered to him with the fried rice. He looked at them but ate them without hesitation. He patted Rok's head and said, "This is good."

Cale and Rok kept eating while Vicross handed them milk. The young Chef began preparing their meals, and soon after, a boy with brown hair entered the kitchen, demanding food.

"Oh, what filths."

Rok noticed that this cousin of his. Arsen Henituse's second child. They ignored him and turned to look at Vicross, who was frowning aggressively at them. Vicross despises children as much as this punk.

"I am a chef for the Young Lord of the Castle," Vicross replied respectfully. He had that annoyed expression on his face. Vicross, despite being a terrifying bastard, grew up with them and knew exactly who they were. "I am not in charge of the castle's guests."

"YOU HEAR ME?! I WANT TO EAT! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PREPARE MY FOOD AND GIVE THAT TO ME!" exclaimed the punk to Vicross.

That is not the way to ask someone to give them food.

Vicross remained silent, but I swear he was planning thousands of ways to torture this punk inside his head. Vicross was about to decline politely when the punk suddenly kicked Vicross's leg and wrecked the kitchen. He was screaming, posing like he owned the castle.

"RATHER THAN SERVE THIS FILTH! SERVE THE REAL HEIR TO THE COUNTY!"

"This br—"

Cale stopped Rok. Rok watched as his younger brother threw the glass of milk at the boy, causing a splatter.

That stopped both Vicross and Rok.

Of course, they had different ideas.

Rok: Oh... scary...

Vicross: my priceless glass. I even paid my whole salary for that.

Cale smirked, completely resembling the bastard he used to be.

Cale: Oh... I missed this...

Rok: missed what?

Cale: Hyung-nim, just sit there... Let your trash dongsaeng handle the bad punk.

That made Rok shiver.

Cale went down.

"You make a mess in the morning, much less to our cook," Cale said, his voice dark and authoritative. It made the punk tremble at his feet.

"What are you talking about? He's just a servant!"

Anyone can see that red aura from Cale. s

"Just a servant? Then you're worse than a pig," Cale says as he throws the empty plate at the punk. The crashing plate echoed loudly, but there was a crackling heart near Rok.

"My salary..."

"We'll just reimburse you, Vichi," Rok said innocently as he drank the milk calmly. Although Vicross might not look like it, he likes to collect things like this. Woah! No lemon milk! Hooray for Vicross!

Cale grinned evilly and started trashing around the punk. He even kicked the low table, which caused the other to fall to his knees.

"You are not the young lord, punk," Cale growled dangerously.

"This is me, the young lord... lower that little head or I'll bash it on the floor."

Oh, the expensive liquor bottle in Cale's hand was looking extremely dangerous.

Cale chose to hit the punk with the bottle but threw it right next to his head, while Rok smiled viciously. Cale just smashed an expensive bottle of liquor. He was holding the bottle neck and the shattered glass.

"If you get it, stay out of my way," Cale warns. This is the first time Rok has seen him acting like garbage! He lived up to expectations!

The punk immediately stood up and ran away. Vicross shook his head and approached his Young Lord. He gently wiped the stains from his hand and ordered him to sit beside his brother to drink his milk.

"That was nice," Vicross commented. This vicious version of the twins appeals to him.

"Well, I'm planning on purging them before Dad gets back," Rok explained. "It's good that Cale triggered them right now. That brat's father will surely raise his concern."

"Trying to frame them?"

"Frame what?" Rok asked, pulling out the documents he had previously seized, "when they're doing the most outrageous things in the county."

"You looked like a total jerk than me brother," Cale said.

"Let's clean them up... It's faster to do this right now," Rok said with a smile.

Vicross nodded and looked at the documents. He smiled. So this is why they were playing the pitiful children before.

"Amazing," Vicross said, smiling, "you came up with shit despite acting like a fool."

"You can't fool your enemies if you can't fool yourself," Rok said as he stood up and walked away.

This is a fool's game.
