Not So All-Powerful

A/N POV

The next day Jungkook was sore. But that was expected. He wore a sky blue long knit sweater that reached his mid thighs, and black skinny jeans. It covered up his entire body, so as to not show the bruises that had started to turn a painful looking blue and purple. He had a slight limp, which was due to one of the kicks delivered to his lower thigh. Usually he had no problem walking. He just had to hope no one noticed. He met with Yugyeom at school as usual, and thankfully, the younger was too caught up and telling him about yesterday's events at the cafe that he didn't notice his best friend's odd walking. Jungkook sighed in relief, as Yugyeom was the only person he interacted with during school other than Namjoon.

If Yugyeom didn't notice, no one else would. They started off to their respective classes, both content; one from being able to talk to his best friend and the other from being glad that he didn't have to worry about anyone finding out anything. What they didn't notice was the dark brown eyes following them from a distance, narrowing as he noticed the small limp in Jungkook's step. Why the man cared, he had no idea why, but something in him wondered what caused the slight disruption in the younger boy's walk. He shook his head. You hate him, Taehyung. Don't go around caring for people who will care for you back.

                                                                                       ____

Jungkook headed to Art after Business. He was excited to see Yugyeom. Their Art teacher let them sit wherever they wanted as long there were no disruptions during class, so they sat next to each other.

"Yugy!", he yelled across the room.

"Hey Kookie!"

"Mr. Kang is telling us the project today right?", Jungkook asked as he sat next to his best friend. (A/N - to my fellow MOAs, no that is not Taehyun, he's younger than all the BTS members he couldn't be teaching them- well maybe he could but he's not here so -_- it would be cool tho)

"Yeah."

Just then the teacher entered.

"Hello guys! As you know, we have a project being announced today. I decided since you all have been doing art that I tell you to do for so long, I wanted to give you a more broad area to work with this time. I want you all to make an art piece that describes happiness. Now, I don't want to see smiley faces on everyone's canvases. It would be what you think of what you think of happiness. Yes, this is a partner project, so you will be working with someone. Sadly for you guys, I have already picked partners."

A collective groan rippled through the classroom.

Mr. Kang just chuckled (A/N - these next names will be from groups I know, but their ages do not correlate with Jungkook and Taehyung's ages. Just pretend they are the same age as them), "Alright, these are the names of the students I have paired:

Lisa and Jennie.

Jisoo and Rose.

Taehyun and Beomgyu.

Soobin and Yeonjun.

Huening Kai and Jinyoung (A/N - because Kai has no ship and after extensive research about Got7 ships - since I don't know the ships - and trying to figure out the most popular, Jinyoung had no one so I put them together)

BamBam and Yugyeom...."

Jungkook smirked at Yugyeom and his best friend's face turned red. He knew Yugyeom had been crushing on BamBam for a very long time, and was happy he had a chance to let BamBam know he actually existed. But he now wondered who he was with now.

"Mark and Jackson.

Jaebum and Youngjae...."

Jungkook looked around the classroom at everyone who was already with their partner and realized there was only one other person in the room other than him left to get partnered. His eyes widened as he looked towards him and found Taehyung staring right back at him, equally stunned.

Dang it, they both thought as the teacher finished.

".... and lastly Taehyung and Jungkook."

They were the only two people who made no move to reach the other.

Slowly, Jungkook stood up and inched towards his mortal enemy. Taehyung noticed that the slight limp was still there, and wondered what happened, but pushed the thought aside, instead asking sarcastically, "Eager are we?"

"Shut up. You might not want a good grade, but I do. And so we're going to do this right."

"Riiiight. And what makes you so sure I won't leave this all for you?"

"As you know, I'm not afraid of you. I'm not gonna do work I don't need to. You're doing this."

"You seem so confident that words are gonna make me do this."

"I know words aren't enough. But the right threat might be."

"Oh? And what might little Kookie have against me."

Jungkook turned red at the nickname, and Taehyung chuckled in amusement. The younger boy looked up with newfound determination. It wasn't much, but making Taehyung do this was gonna be his small first step at getting rid of the older's power in this school.

"Maybe the ability to get you kicked out of this school." Jungkook smirked. He'd just turned the tables. He'd had this for a while, but he was waiting for the right time to use it.

Taehyung's eyes widened at what Jungkook put on the table.

Flashback

"Hey Jimin hyung." Jungkook greeted.

"What's up Kookie?"

"You know how you mentioned you're good with computers? I have a favor to ask if that's okay."

"If it doesn't land me in jail I'll do it."

"That really depends on how well you do this. If you get caught too early.. there might be some minor consequences."

"Okay... go on."

"Well, you know how Taehyung bullies kids? I figured there has to be some way to catch him. Do you have access to any cameras?"

"You're talking about the school security cameras aren't you?"

"No. That would definitely put us behind bars. Whether we get caught at the right time or not. I'm talking about your own cameras."

"Yeah I do. What are you planning on doing with them?"

"If we could hide cameras in some of the lockers, like ours, and position the camera to see through the vent holes in the locker doors, we could catch Taehyung."

"Can't you just ask the teachers to check the security cameras?"

"The teachers are afraid of him too. At least the ones with authority to access the cameras. If we get this, we can take it straight to his father. Yes, Taehyung's his son, but he can't let his son go, it's bad for his reputation because it shows bias."

"It's not a bad idea. Are you really going to take the recording to his dad?"

"Not immediately. First I want Taehyung to realize the terror he puts kids through when threatening them with their position in the school. If he really doesn't change, I'll turn it in. So, you in?"

"Heck, yeah. This is probably the most exciting thing to happen to me since I discovered bagels."

End of flashback~

Jungkook pushed the recording forward, to show how much evidence he had. Taehyung tried to grab the phone, but Jungkook was faster.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Now you know how it feels?"

"What the heck is your problem?"

"You. And I'm not stopping until you fix yourself."

"Fine I'll do the stupid project."

Jungkook smiled his famous bunny smile, and Taehyung realized how cute he looked when he smiled, only used to the glares thrown his way. Wait- what the heck? Cute? Really Taehyung? The older mentally slapped himself, shaking his head.

Jungkook just looked over at the other's randomly moving head with an odd stare, before shaking it off and saying, "Okay, first we need to figure out what type of art to do. Do you have any particular strengths?"

Taehyung thought about that. He did like to sketch over anything else, liking the lines all over the page. Jungkook on the other hand was better at painting, having loved the feeling of the brush as it glided across a canvas since he was young.

"Sketching.", he answered shortly.

"Well, since our two strengths clash, we could do a collage of sorts. You do half and I do half. Literally."

The older imagined what the younger was explaining and genuinely thought it was a good idea. Of course, he wouldn't tell the younger that. Sure, he might've gotten to hate him a little less, but that didn't make them friends.

Taehyung nodded in agreement to the idea, just as the bell rang. As the older turned around to leave, he felt a small hand tugging on his sleeve. He turned back to see a red Jungkook, and was confused before seeing the slip of paper he was holding out. Taehyung just stared at the paper, leaving Jungkook to have to explain, "T-to talk about the project l-later. And to know when to meet up and stu-stuff.", the ravenette stuttered out. Where his sudden shyness came from, he didn't know, but the taller blonde knew he was enjoying seeing the one guy willing to fight him, uncontrollably blushing right in front of him. Taehyung smirked and took the paper, with Jungkook's number written in clear, pretty numbers.

"Noted." Was all he said before leaving Jungkook in the room alone.

A/N - WELL. I decided, let's be cliche again and put the two enemies together for the art project. Idk why I made both of them like different types of art but HeRe wE aRe sO dEaL WiTh iT oR DiE, no pressure. More words in this one, tho that's probably bc of the flashback added in. I decided to let Taehyung have a taste of his own medicine out of sheer spite even tho I'm not actually in the story. There might some Taekook DeVeLoPmEnT soon, bc they hate each other too much rn. I kinda made Taehyung question bit during this chapter but it wasn't nearly enough.
