Chapter 33

Bill can't believe the sight of the mother of his youngest son lying on the cold table in the morgue. He can't imagine anyone having this much hatred towards Katie. Tears stream down his face as he tries to figure out how he is going to tell Will that his beloved mother is gone, not to mention in such a violent manor. He places his head in his hand and just let the tears flow harder, he can feel the police officer's hand on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry Mr. Spencer."

"Do you have any leads as to who did this to her?" Bill demands through his tears.

"Not yet, we are looking into usual suspects. We will of course have to ask you a few questions at the station. Now that we have the positive ID we are going to send someone to talk to her sisters too. Is there anyone else you can think of?"

Bill searches his memory to think of anyone, "She has been seeing that lawyer from Forrester, Carter."

The detective pulls out a notepad and writes Carter's name on it, "Thank you Mr. Spencer. We'll look into it. By the way, who is that woman in the lobby who keeps making demands? Does she know the victim?"

Bill realizes he is talking about Hope, "Yes, that is Katie's niece Hope Logan."

The detective takes out his pad again and writes her name down.

Later down at the police station it is a parade of who's who. Brooke walks in crying and sees Hope, "Hope!" Brooke cries out as Hope turns and runs into Brooke's arms.

Donna and Ridge come in at the same time. Donna hystarically crying, Ridge comforting her. Brooke getting mad at the sight of the two of them together, "Why are the two of you together?" She says with venom in her tone.

"Now is not the time Brooke," Ridge snaps shutting Brooke down in her place. Then he places a comforting arm around Donna.

Hours go by as several members of the Logan, Forrester, and Spencer families are questioned. No good lead looks obvious, they would have to dig deeper. They pull Felicia to the side again, "Miss Forrester, we would like to take a more thorogh look into the Forrester computer systems if you don't mind."

"No, of course," Felicia says, "anything I can do to help. But may I ask why?"

"Two members of the Forrester Creations team were murdered in the same way. There has to be some connection to Forrester."

It dawns on Felicia for the first time that these two murders can be connected and anyone at Forrester could be next.

After everyone filters out of the police station the detectives continue to look at the Forrester hard drives. They begin to notice that a few of the files have been accessed recently. They notice one in particular that was several years old. It was footage from the Forrester CEO office of a discussion that Brooke and Katie Logan were having. The detectives play the footage. As the footage plays they begin to realize they are watching Brooke and Katie argue over Bill Spencer. Katie begins calling Brooke several deragatory names, including some colorful names that they are to understand were given to Brooke by the late Stephanie Forrester. The detectives look at each other and begin to come to the same realization. One detective speaks up, one of the detectives call over Lieutenant Baker, "Sir I think you should see this."

Lieutenant Baker makes his way to his IT saavy detectives, "Did you find something?"

"We were looking through some of the footage that was recently accessed." One of the detectives explained, "This was one of the most recent clips. It was from several years ago so it doesn't make much sense that it would have been accessed." He hits play and lieutenant Baker watches as Katie berates Brooke, calling her all sorts of names in the book and accuses her of stealing her husband.

"Well would you look at that," Lieutenant Baker says in a matter of fact tone, "I think we need to have another talk with Brooke Logan.
