Ch.6 Time cell

~Y/n pov~

A portal suddenly opened up just as we were about to die.

And then, we were back at the TVA.

Mobius took both Loki and I back to that room.

We were separated from Sylvie.

Loki struggled against the guards, "The TVA is lying to you."

"You know, it occurred to me that you're not really the God of mischief." Mobius replied.

"Oh, here it comes. What am I? The God of back-stabbing?"

"Just kind of an asshole and a bad friend." Mobius turned his attention to me, "Y/n I expected better of you."

"When we're going to stop lying to me and tell me I was a variant."

Mobius frowned, "What? I don't know what you're talking about? What lies has Loki put in your head?"

"Nothing. He didn't do anything." I responded, "He did bring back the memories the TVA stole from me, though."

Mobius opened up a portal and the guards shoved Loki into it.

It closed behind him.

"Now that he's gone you can tell me the truth." Mobius sent me a reassuring smile.

I frowned in response, "I'm telling you the truth. You never told me the truth. I'm a variant."

"You were made by the TVA."

"Bullshit! Loki knew me. We knew each other, until the TVA stole me away and erased my memories. So no, Loki is not manipulating me." I panted, out of breath after my rant.

Mobius' smile dropped and he didn't say anything more.

Another portal opened and I got shoved into it.

Where am I?

I turned around and saw a familiar scene. Is that Thanos?

"Undying? You should chose your words more carefully."

I watched in shock as Thanos choked Loki.

He gagged and his eyes were bloodshot.

His eyes turned to look at me. They were pleading for help.

It was like they were piercing through me. I couldn't do anything.

There was a sickening crunch as his neck snapped.

Thanos threw him aside as if he was nothing.

"Undying? You should chose your words more carefully."

I watched as the same scene played out over and over.

It's all my fault. All I did was watch. If only I was stronger.

I fell to my knees and sobbed.

Why did it have to be this way? I just wanted to be happy. I wanted Loki to be happy.

And he can never be happy with the TVA around. As soon as he does something to make him happy the TVA will come and take him away.

Because in the 'sacred timeline' all he does is suffer. It's not fair.

I gasped for breath as I cried my heart out.

No one was here so what did it matter.

I cried until my eyes were red and stung. I cried until I could cry no longer.

I must've watched Loki die fifty times now.

There was a flash of orange as a portal opened up and I was dragged out of it.

~*~

I sat on the floor unmoving, my hair covered my eyes.

All was silent.

"You were telling the truth." Mobius stated.

He must've seen what I saw.

"I don't trust Loki. Who knows if he was telling the truth."

I heard a scoff, "I was."

I sniffled slightly, hearing his voice.

"Y/n? Are you okay?" Loki knelt down beside me.

I shook my head and leant forward, burying my face in his chest.

Loki shuffled slightly and pulled me onto his lap, his arms wrapped around my waist.

He whispered sweet nothings to me and gently stroked my hair to try and calm me down.

I eventually did calm down but I refused to let go of Loki so he just sat on the floor with me still on his lap.

He drew soothing patterns on the back of my hand as he talked to Mobius.

"You said the TVA is lying to me. Tell me about that." Mobius spoke up.

He has been quiet the whole time.

"Stop beating me up and I'll tell you."

"So it was a lie. How long have you worked for the variant?"

"Working for her? Please!" Loki scoffed.

"So are you partners?"

"We're getting nowhere with this." Loki rolled his eyes, "At least leave Y/n out of this okay. You've lied to her for however long she's been here and showed her the most painful memories. You've broken her!"

Loki was getting more and more annoyed.

I placed my hand on top of his.

Mobius ignored what Loki just said, "We pruned her."

My head shot up, "What?"

"The Loki variant."

"They pruned Sylvie." I muttered.

If I could cry I would.. but no more tears would come out.

I bit my lip in frustration.

Loki knew I was tired so he did all the yelling for me.

"You what?!"

"You're welcome."

"No, you're lying. Where is she?"

Mobius raised his eyebrows at Loki.

"You better hope you're lying Mobius." I glared at him.

He smirked, "Oh, I see what happened. You love them."

I stiffened.

"That is hilarious. I can't believe it! It's unbelievable that you would even fall for one Loki, nevermind both of them!" Mobius laughed at me.

"Shut up! You don't know anything." I growled, "The TVA kidnapped you from wherever you came from. They probably stole you away! You had a life. You're all variants. Ever single one of you."

Mobius paused. He looked lost.

Then, he left. Just like that.

~*~

Mobius came back into the room, "You were telling the truth. God I feel like a jerk. I'm so sorry."

"Let's go then." I smiled.

Any sign that I had been crying was gone.

Mobius opened a portal that we all walked through.

"I think you have something of mine." The judge told him.

She was surrounded by guards.

"Yeah, I accidentally picked up yours." Mobius took the tempad out of his pocket and passed it to one of the guards.

"What's going on? What's the problem, Ravonna?"

She stayed silent.

"You know where I'd go if I could go anywhere? Wherever I'm really from." Mobius smiled sadly.

The guard suddenly stepped forward and pruned him.

I watched in horror as he faded into nothing.

"Mobius." I mumbled out.

Loki looked scared. His breathing was uneven and I could tell he wanted to cry.

Even after all Mobius did. He was just doing his job. I can't blame him.

We were both pretty close to him.

The guards restrained us and started leading us somewhere.

~*~

We all stepped into a lift.

To my relief, Sylvie was here.

When the judge wasn't looking I shuffled closer to her so I could talk to her.

"They told me that they pruned you and they made me relive my worst memory." I bit my lip.

She frowned, "Well I'm still here. Can I ask what your worst memory is?"

I nodded, "Watching Loki die. They made me watch it over and over again. I couldn't do anything."

Sylvie gave me a sad smile, "You won't have to see it ever again. I'll make sure of that."

I smiled back.

I quickly looked away as the lift doors opened and we were shoved forward.

We entered a room.

Up some steps sat three lizard creatures.

Are those the Time Keepers?

"Gracious Time Keepers, as promised, the variants." Ravonna spoke.

"After all your struggle, at last, you've arrived before us." The middle one announced.

Something about this whole thing felt wrong. This was too easy right?

They led us straight to the Time Keepers.

"What do you have to say for yourselves before you meet your end, variants?" Another Time Keeper spoke.

"Is that the only reason you brought us here?" Loki asked, "To kill us? I've lost track of the number of times I've been killed, so go ahead. Do your worst."

"You and your bravado are no threat to us, variant."

"Oh no, I don't think you believe that." Sylvie replied, "I think.. I think you're scared."

"No. Variant. You're nothing but a cosmic disappointment."

"Did you bring us here to mock us?" I spat, "You're just like the rest of us. You think you're better than us all. News flash: you're not."

"We don't think we are superior. We know we are and so does everyone else. Delete them."

"I'm not done with you yet." Sylvie growled.

The lift doors suddenly opened and our collars fell off.

The guard threw Sylvie a weapon.

I'm guessing she's on our side then.

I summoned a sword and started fighting them off.

We had to be careful not to be hit with their glowing sticks.

"Protect the Time Keepers!" Ravonna yelled.

We took down all the guards.

Now all that was left were the Time Keepers.

"You're a child of the Time Keepers too, Sylvie. We can talk."

"Oh yeah?" Sylvie ran towards them and threw her blade at them.

It's head rolled off and stopped in front of us.

They all collapsed like machines.

I approached and head and noticed it was sparking. There were wires.

I kicked the head away, "An Android. You've got to be kidding me."

"Then, who the hell is behind this?" Sylvie yelled, annoyed.

"Why are they messing with us like this?" Loki frowned, "Who created the TVA?"

"I thought this was it." Sylvie angrily kicked the head as well.

"What the hell do we do now?" I asked.

"I don't know." Sylvie sighed.

I noticed Ravonna had gotten up.

I quickly jumped in front of Loki.

She hit me with it.

I was being pruned, this was it.

It seems my effort were in vain though.

Just before I disappeared, I saw her prune Loki too while he was caught off guard.

~*~

It was dark. The floor felt hard.

Wait floor?

"Y/n." Someone gasped.

They sounded young.
