Paws burning, Rocky ran for his life. Glancing over his shoulder, he could see his partner barging past people. Revenge glittered in his remaining eye. And he was gaining ground fast. Terrified, Rocky looked forward and picked up his pace.

I should've NEVER done the things I have done to my children, Rocky thought wistfully. Closing his eyes, he blamed himself for why his children hated him. Now is not the time to reflect on the past! he reminded himself urgently, his brown eyes snapping open. Panting, he took a left into an alley.
