"How am I supposed to go back and be with her when he's constantly there at her side?"

"Maybe grow up and remember which one of you is actually married to her yeah?"

"Yeah and you forget which one of us was the one she loved first?" I sighed. When I got to the hospital Mills was stood outside of the ward. I felt angry but I went and stood next to him. He didn't even look at me.

"How comes your stood out here?" I smiled.

"She was sleeping." He faked a smile. "I'm going to head home anyway."

"Peter. Thank you." I smiled as I went in and she was peacefully asleep laying there. I sat down and held her hand. She moved around a little before opening her eyes and smiling at me.

"Morning." I laughed.

"Hello." She smiled.

"Feeling better?"

"Yes actually. Can we go home?"

"Well I spoke to Will and he said yes we can." I smiled. She got up and put some slippers on, She was wearing her pajamas and a dressing gown still. I had her bag as we headed out to the car. She used my arms to get down and into the car. I helped her and got in the driver side after putting her bags into the boot.

"Where are we going?" I smiled.

"Home." She smiled holding my hand as we drove back home. When we got there she went and had a bath and stuff. I said my goodbyes and headed off to the firehouse to start my shift.

It felt good having a bath. Bump was massive now. Well I was exactly 9 months and 1 day over today. I couldn't see my own legs so it was horrible to walk because it felt like I was floating a little bit. Like right now laying in the bath I am laying at a bit of a strange angle. I'm on my side and I can hardly fit in the bath. I reached a point where I didn't even really care anymore, as long as I could have a bath and clean myself up I was okay. I got changed into my shirt, fleece and work trousers and headed off into work. When I got there after putting my bag in the locker I went into the common room with everyone.

"You still working?" Otis laughed.

"I am."

"You look like your ready to pop." Herman smiled joking around with me.

"I am." I laughed. Just then we got a call out. Car crash apparently. We all headed out including Boden. I went with Brett and let her drive to the scene and when we got there it was a lot worse than any of us had anticipated. Police were already there. The fire lads hang back at the trucks standing and watching as there was nothing anyone else could do. Brett ran over to the boy sitting on the edge of the road. The car was completely crumpled, looked like it hit a tree, rolled over and just a mess. I ran over to the car and we had 2 entrapments.

"Hello my name is Gabby. I'm a paramedic what are your names?"

"Lauren and Ari."

"Okay Lauren and Ari. What pain can you feel now?"

"My head hurts." Lauren cried.

"It's my legs. There trapped." Ari screamed out.

"Okay sweetheart." I smiled, I ran back to chief.

"Get the doors off, let me get in set them both up then cut the roof off."

"Okay lads you heard her." While they worked on getting the doors off I ran to Brett who was clearing up. The boy was the driver and was taken to the police station after being arrested for dangerous driving. After 10 minutes the doors off, I ran to the car Brett helped me get both girls up on heart monitors, oxygen masks and as Brett backed off I was put under a blanket with the girls as Lauren screamed as they started cutting the roof. I suddenly felt really warm, like really warm and a bit wet.

"Are we leaking petrol?" I shouted.

"No leaks." I heard back through the cutting. I looked down and of course. Well I hadn't wet myself so there was only answer.

"Not right now." I sighed. "My water's have broken." I radioed.

"You have to be kidding me. We can't get you out the car until the roof's off and that will be another 10 minutes." Kelly replied.

"It's okay. Carry on. Contractions shouldn't start for hours anyway." I was just stood in wet clothes. My light blue trousers were dripping. Ari's heart rate started dropping.

"Come on Ari. Keep your eyes open. Come on. Talk to me. Come on sweetheart. Ari? Come on." I squeezed her hand, Lauren was screaming and crying. Her heart stopped. I pulled the blanket on her legs up and over her head after unclipping her from machines, the blanket just allowed her some respect and privacy. It took a while but the roof of the car did come off eventually. They took Ari out and body bagged her. I stood up and slipped a back board behind Lauren. We got her out and on a stretcher and the other ambulance took her to the local hospital. I'd heard that they had found 3 casualty flung 20ft from the car open window from not wearing seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene. I went over to the guys and Matt took me by the hand as I sat down on the ambulance step.

"So what happened?" He smiled. They were all surrounding me.

"My water's have broken. Look at my trousers. I know contractions could take hours but still I'm now officially in labour." I smiled, resting my forehead against his.

"Let's get you to med to double check they actually broke." He smiled, I hopped into the back of the ambulance alone while Brett drove. I was so excited now. It wouldn't be long until I had my little baby. When we got there Brett come with me to find Will. He managed to get me in with Anna who did a quick scan and internal examination.

"You are now in labour. You don't need to come in until your contractions are 10 minutes apart okay?" She smiled.

"Okay. Thank you." I hugged her and smiled before we headed back, stopping off at my apartment on the way back.
