Kathryn: I checked my email a few days later from the kiss. Harry hadn't called. He hadn't said anything to me. I just let myself believe he was busy. 

Anyway, I opened my email. That's when something stood out from the crowd. I opened it.

My name is Aaron Cones. I am a musical recruiter at EMI Music. You sent your song to me. I gave it to an up and coming boy band, The Boyz You KNow. I enjoyed the song and so did they. Now I was curious. This band would like you to be a permanent songriter for them. If you would be intrested email me back. The business would take place at the LA headquarters of EMI. I read the email over and over. Yet I wasn't excited. I didn't know why. This was my dream wasn't it? I mean I had always wanted this. But now my dream was coming true and I wasn't as excited as I had always dreamed. I looked down, where my phone sat on my desk. That's when I realized why I wasn't happy with this. Harry. I had feelings for Harry. I mean, I always kind of had, but I never expected it would get in the way of things. I didn't want to leave if it meant leaving Harry. 

Shut up Kat! a voice in my head screamed. Harry has a girlfriend he is happy with and loves. You have dreamed of being a songwriter forever. You can't throw away that dream over a guy with a girlfriend. 

What if he's not happy with her though a voice inside me whispered. I sighed. He had kissed me. What if that was a sign he wasn't happy with Anna anymore? But he hadn't called me either. Grrr. Why did I have to be a girl who thought everything through. Or who had to have a crush on a boy she could never have.

Harry: I got a text from Kat. I sighed. I couldn't ignore what happened forever. I checked her text. Please come by my place soon. I need to talk to you she had sent. 

I replied How soon is soon? 

Kat only took a few minutes to reply Well, if you don't show up sometime soon I'll hunt you down. And with paparazzi, that won't be hard. I laughed. Of course. 

See you in two hours. I have to finish up work. I'll be over then. I sent.

Kathryn:  I was sitting on the couch, biting my nails. I had stopped so long ago, but now it seemed like a good idea again. I heard a knock on my door. I grabbed Baby, who rushed quickly to the door. I opened it to see Harry. 

"Hey," I said. 

"Hey," he said back. We were quiet between each other for a few moments. 

"Come on in," I said after what felt like an eternity. 

"So, um, I need to talk to you about a few nights ago," Harry said. 

"Yeah, but I need to talk to you about something first," I said. I showed him the email. He read it, and by the looks of it, he reread it. 

Harry: I couldn't believe the words on the screen. Kathryn was going to get her dream. And leave me. I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach as I realized the second part. She was going to leave me. 

Kathryn: I watch Harry as he looked into my eyes. "Wow," he sighed, "Congratulations." 

"Thanks," I said, not smiling. 

"So when will you leave?" Harry asked. 

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," I said. Harry nodded. "I want to know what that kiss meant to you. I don't want to leave wondering what could have been. So I want to know, if I were to stay, would you break up with Anna for me?" 

"What?" Harry asked. 

"I'm not going to stay here if I'm always going to be wishing I could be in Anna's shoes. I want to go if that's the way its going to be. If we're just going to be friends," I said, "But, if you truely meant what you said, that you loved me. If you truly meant that kiss, then I'll stay. But I'm not going to wait around for it. I'm not going to just believe that you love me. I want to be with you if I'm going to stay." 

"So I would have to break up with Anna," Harry said. I nodded and waited. 

Harry: I thought for a few minutes. I loved Anna. I felt bad I had kissed Kat. But I didn't want to give up Kat. I wanted to be with her. Only I loved Anna. She was the one I had been with for years. She was the one I was dating now. She understood my busy schedule. She was the one I had loved for years, the one I pictured in a white dress one day. How could I give that up for Kat to stay. And this was Kat's dream. I didn't want to be the reason she gave that all up. So I decided on my answer. 

"I don't want to be the one to stand in the way of your dreams Kathryn," I said, my voice barely more than a whisper. Kathryn frowned and looked down into her lap. 

"Oh," Kathryn said. I felt bad. Why couldn't I do this without hurting her. 

"Its nothing against you. I just know you've always wanted this. I don't you to give that up because of me," I said. 

"Sure," Kathryn said, smiling, "Whatever works right." I looked down. 

"Kathryn, Anna and I are extremely happy. We love each other. How can I just throw that all away for someone?" I asked. 

"I don't know," Kat said, "I just hoped I wasn't some regret for you." 

"I don't regret anything between us," I said. 

"Sure," Kathryn said. "Well, that's all I needed. I'll see you some other time Harry." I felt terrible. I got up and left. As I walked out, I saw Kathryn, tears in her eyes.
