Chapter 2

I watched Peter lean back against the railing, mirroring him with my arms crossed, a small yawn escaping me.

“Up late last night?”

“Early this morning” I rubbed my eyes “I got caught up drawing, forgot to check the time” he hummed, eyes studying my face.

“Must be quite the masterpiece,” he tucked some stray hair behind my ear

“maybe I could swing by and see it later?” I couldn’t tell him that the canvas sat in my living room drying was of him.

He would never get over it, and honestly, neither would I.

“Sure, as long as you can find me something for my scrapbook this week.” he promised he would, letting me step out before him.

“mornin’!” I called to the others as I shuffled into the room, Peter in tow.

“Look what the cat dragged in” Sam teased from his seat by the Xbox as we came in.

“Hey, you two, I didn’t realise Stark called you in” Nat peered over her magazine at us with a slight smirk.

“Mr. Stark was showing us some ideas for my new suit”

“New suit?” Bucky perked up from next to Nat, and Peter began to explain some of the details to the two of them whilst I chipped occasionally.

My hands were itching to begin designing it and soon I found myself curled up on the sofa and using my phones notes app to draw some of the elements I had in mind, using a pen with a tiny bit of hardened glue on the end. It works surprisingly well.

“That looks so cool” I lifted my gaze with a smile, finding Peter staring over at my phone.

“It looks just like Peter” Bucky chimed from the left of us “did you use an image of him?”

“Alex has studied our bodies so much she can draw them from memory. Isn't that, right?” Nat smirked and I blushed under the multiple gazes that turned my way.

“It gets easier after doing it like, ten times. It looks kind of shit but it’s better on the bigger screens as well so yeah...” I trailed off, shifting in my seat.

“Can I see?” I passed my phone Bucky’s way and let him, and Nat have at it.

“you’re really talented, I can see why Mr. Stark picked you” I couldn’t meet Peter’s eye, brushing off the compliment with a thank you as he tutted at me.

He and I began to talk about the suit, and I began to talk him through some of my ideas, showing him a few pictures and sketches I had.

He listened intently, asking the odd question here and there, Bucky and Nat began listening as well, neither of them knowing much about how the suits were created and I was more than happy to rant at them about my new hobby.

“What are you teaching them, Greene?” Steve’s voice rang out as he walked through the room towards the fridge.

By the looks of things, he had just returned from his run.

“anatomy” I replied, briefly looking up at him as I continued to show Peter the differences between nanotech and his current suit.
He probably knew more than me about it, but he didn’t once stop me.

“How was your run?” he shrugged at Bucky’s question.

“I saw a man dressed in a gorilla suit chasing a yellow truck, so better than yesterday” chuckles rang out around the room, along with a few curse words from Clint, who was currently losing against Sam.

“what's on the menu tonight?”

“Italian”

“What are you ordering?” Peter asked me quietly as the others talked. I hummed, thinking over my options.

“I don’t know, probably some sort of pasta, what are you fancying?”

“I was thinking the same”

“I promise I won't get any on your lovely Star Wars top” I grinned up at him, watching as his eyes flicked down to the top in question, smile widening.

“You can have all my tops if it means you'll look this cute in all of them” I bit my lip, turning away with a blush.

This boy.

“you’re terrible” I muttered as he chuckled.

“Only for you babe” he winked, and I hit him again, fanning my face.

“Looks like Bugboy has been taking some notes from the master” Sam boasted as he pulled a water from the fridge, gesturing our way.

“Leave them alone, Sam.”

“What?” he protested at Bucky’s warning tone “I’m just happy to see the kids getting along”

Peter and I shared an amused look, it was pretty obvious that the two of us fancied each other, but we had also been let onto the fact that several bets had been placed on us and our developing relationship (thank you Nat), so we were taking it at our own pace.

“Well, if it's too much for you guys to handle,” Peter stood up, placing the tablet I was using on the table gently before pulling me away with him “we’ll just have to hang out somewhere else”

We walked away, hearing the protest behind us as we walked into the stairwell, laughing all the way.
