Chapter 10

Athena walked out of the room that Coulson was in and walked back to her own. As she walked down the  hallway she remembered the memories she got from Russia. They were somehow stored in liquid form, but at the same time she was glad. It made it easier for her to give them to Natasha.

Athena walked into her room and grabbed the memories and walked out. She walked towards Clint's room while nervously playing with her fingers.

Athena arrived to Clint's door and knocked on it. "Come in," she heard his voice say from inside. Athena opened the door. "Hey, Athena," he said as he looked over at her. "Hey," Athena said.

"What's up?" He asked.

"I want to give Natasha her memories back, but I don't know how," Athena said as she held up the vial. "And you're scared," he said.

"Yeah, and that, I guess," Athena said, not having thought about that part of it. "What's your plan?" He asked and Athena shrugged. "I was hoping you could help me with that," Athena said and he looked at her with almost an annoyed look, but it soon softened once he saw how nervous Athena actually was. "Alright. I'll help you," Clint said.

"Thank you," Athena said.

The two of them talked for a while and began to theorize about a few things. They had no idea how long it would take for Natasha to remember. So, Clint came up with the idea to talk to Fury. Even though Athena was not happy with him at the moment.

They arrived to Fury's office and knocked. "Come in," they heard Fury say, but only Athena walked inside. "Hello, sir. I have a question about the whole memories thing," Athena said and Fury looked up from the paper in front of him. "Continue," Fury said.

"How does it work?" Athena asked and then thought up more questions. "How does she get her memories back from this vial? How long will it take for her to remember?" Athena rambled.

"You slip it into her water bottle or any other beverage she might have. She'll get her memories back in a couple weeks," Fury said.

"A couple weeks?" Athena asked, not happy with the answer. She was hoping it would be sooner. "Yes, it will take awhile for her to fully remember," Fury said.

"Okay, thank you, sir," Athena said and she walked out of the office and met Clint on the other side. "What're you thinking, kid?" Clint asked.

"We give her the memories. But it'll be a bit difficult to tell her about what's going on though," Athena said and Clint shrugged. "You can tell her once she gets her memories back. Just dump it into her water bottle," Clint said and Athena gave him a skeptical look.

"It'll be fine," He reassured and Athena nodded as they approached the training room. They walked inside and saw Natasha sparring with a couple of newbies. Athena nudged Clint with her elbow. "Which one is hers?" Athena asked and Clint looked over at all of the water bottles. "That one," he said as he pointed at a plain black water bottle.

Athena walked over and picked up the water bottle and opened the lid. She dumped the vial into the bottle and sat it back down. Athena walked back over to Clint. "The deed is done," Athena said and the two of them left.

"Agent Brown, report to Director Fury's office," Athena heard some say over her ear piece. "Yes, sir," Athena said and walked in the direction of Fury's office.

She walked up to the door and knocked. "Come in," Athena heard Fury say and Athena walked into the office. She sat down on the chair. "What's the mission?" Athena asked, just making an assumption. "It isn't a mission, but more of a scouting mission," Fury said and Athena nodded.

"Okay," Athena said, a bit confused. "You will be going to Midtown High School," Fury said.

"May I ask why?" Athena asked.

"Stark has taken an interest in a hero in Queens, by the name of Spider-Man. You're his intel," Fury said and Athena nodded. "Okay, if you don't mind me asking, why me?" Athena asked.

"Because you are the same age as his real persona, Peter Parker. You're dismissed," Fury said and Athena stood up and walked out. Athena was a bit worried about the whole High School thing and she only had two days to prepare for it.

Athena didn't know exactly how high school works. All she did know was that she knew she isn't knowledgeable enough to be a freshman in high school. Let alone a sophomore. So, she did what anyone would do. She tried to catch up. Meaning that she was going to read the textbooks for every grade until she reached 10th.

Athena woke up and put her books away. She checked the time and it was seven. She had time for a training session.

She got ready and walked towards the training room. She had other important things to do, but she needed to make sure she was keeping up with her training.

She walked into the training room and started warming up. "Someone's up early on a Saturday," A voice said and Athena stood and looked at who was speaking. She saw Clint grabbing his bow and arrows. "Yeah, well, I have to go to high school on Monday," Athena said.

"Seriously?" He asked.

"Yeah," Athena said.

"Why?" Clint asked and Athena started to wrap her hands so she could work on her hand to hand combat. "Apparently Stark is interested in some new superhero guy. He wants me to give him intel on the guy," Athena said.

"Nice. Which high school?" Clint asked and Athena tried to remember what the school was called. "Midtown, I think," Athena said, not overly confident in it. "Oh, that's a nice school. It's for super smart kids. Whoever this kid is, sounds like he is a mini genius," Clint said.

"Oh, really?" Athena asked and Clint nodded. "Oh, wonderful. I'm going to fail out of this school before I can give Stark any intel," Athena said and Clint shrugged. "You don't know that, kid," Clint said.

"I haven't taken any academic classes since I was seven, Clint," Athena said and Clint shrugged. "You'll be fine," Clint said and Athena just shrugged as she started to hit the punching bag. She was just doing some random punching combos.

After a long training session, Athena went back to her room and took a quick shower and once she was finished she sat down on her bed and began to study. If she was going to a smart kid school, she had to be a smart kid too. No matter how hard it was going to be for her.

By the time she finished reading through textbooks meant for a 7th grader, it was about three in the afternoon. She could feel her brain slowly running out of steam as she stood from her bed to get a brain power snack. She still had 8th and 9th grade textbooks to look through.

Athena walked out of her room and started down the hall towards the cafeteria. She walked inside and grabbed a pop tart, an apple and a couple of grapes. She walked over to table and as she did she saw Natasha walk into the room. Athena grabbed her plate and quickly left the cafeteria, just in case Natasha remembered. As much as she wanted her mother to remember her, she didn't need any distractions while trying to study up for this mission.

Athena walked into her room and sat down. Grabbing the 8th grade math textbook and began reading it. As stressful as this entire thing was for her. Athena found reading through them and actually understanding them surprisingly easy. All of the textbooks made sense, but that might also be because they are middle school textbooks, not high school ones. She also didn't take into account that since it's a school for smart teens, they might be teaching them at a higher level than normal teens. Which will only add a few more textbooks to her list.

Athena almost spent eight hours reading school textbooks, she was so determined that hadn't even noticed it getting dark outside. But those eight hours were very productive. She had gotten to the point where she began to read the ninth grade textbooks. She hadn't gotten very far into the science one when she decided to call it a night.
