Everything was running smoothly in Jinyoung's life. A month had passed since Jackson said yes to being with him forever. His family were ecstatic with the news...well, except his best friend slash cousin, Mark, who still thought that he was being reckless. Besides that, everything was doing great.

Jackson stayed longer than he should have in California. Bambam continued to complain about Jinyoung staying with them not because he didn't like his big brother's boyfriend...oh, fiancรฉ but it was the shenanigans at night.

"You two are really something else, you know." Bambam said as he sat down on the chair to eat breakfast.

Jinyoung feigned innocence as he placed a plate in front of the younger one and his fiancรฉ, "We are something else alright, but I have no idea what you're implying to, Bammie."

"Oh, you know damn well, what I was implying to, Jinyoungie. Are you guys still in that honeymoon stage? I mean, you should at least tone it down by now, right?" Bambam asked, looking at his brother who was pretty quiet.

"We didn't even get married yet let alone in honeymoon stage...unless you meant, I still not tired of showing your bother how much I love him...then yes, that will go on until we're old and grey, right, baby?" Jinyoung replied.

"Jack, you ok? Jinyoungie broke you last night? Didn't he?" Jackson didn't reply and just took a sip of his green tea. Bambam glanced at Jinyoung who was sitting beside Jackson now and glanced at Jackson with a frown. "Jinyoung, I told you to be gentle with him." Bambam said with amusement.

"Baby? Are you ok? What's wrong? Did I really break you last night?" Jinyoung asked worriedly.

Jackson almost choked on his tea, he waved his hand, "No...oh gosh, no... I am not that fragile, babe....and you know that! I was just thinking...but nothing important though."

Jinyoung raised one brow, "Is this about your appointment today? What is it anyway? Business meeting?"

Bambam froze and stared at his brother. He remembered what day it was. He looked at his brother, "You're seeing Tracy today?" Jackson was surprised and glared at his brother. Jackson hoped that Jinyoung wouldn't ask who Tracy was but he was wrong.

"Tracy? A new business partner?" Jinyoung nonchalantly questioned so he wouldn't come off as being a jealous fiancรฉ.

Jackson tried to calm himself before he replied, "T-Tracy...ummm...a friend. Tracy is my childhood best friend who works here in Cali."

"Hmmm...just a friend? Not an ex or something?" Jinyoung continued asking, trying to calm himself.

"Oh, friend and something. Ouch! FRIEND!!! Yeah, Tracy is Jack's best friend since they were in kindergarten...in Hong Kong." Bambam loudly uttered while he rubbed his shin after Jackson secretly kicked him under the table.

Jinyoung ignored the something part that Bambam mumbled about. He didn't want Jackson to know that this new info bothered him. He wanted Jackson to see an understanding Jinyoung, not the petty one that he was. He finished his coffee and took his plate and Jackson's to the sink and washed it. Jinyoung went to their bedroom to get ready for work. An hour later, he emerged from the bedroom and saw Jackson who was still sitting by the dining table, talking quietly with Bambam but stopped when they heard him entered the dining area. He approached his fiancรฉ to give him a kiss, "Ok, I hate to go before you but I have to get going. Have fun with your friend....see you tonight. Bam, have fun at work and try not to ruin your brother's company." Jinyoung uttered with amusement.

Jinyoung closed the door and couldn't shake the feeling of uneasiness, like a storm was about to get unleashed after a wonderful and blissful thirteen months he spent with Jackson. He prayed that he'd be wrong.

โฉโฉโฉ

Jinyoung got home before dinner. He was surprised to see Bambam in the kitchen since he was used to seeing Jackson in the kitchen every evening, preparing their dinner. He cleared his throat and Bambam turned around to look in his direction.

"Hey, Bam...smells good. What ya cooking?"

"Hey. Welcome home...um, where's my brother?"

"What do you mean? Jackson's not home yet?"

"Um...no. I thought he was with you. Hold on, let me see if he texted me."

"Nope. He wasn't with me. I actually texted him during my lunch but I didn't get any reply. I texted him when I left work and I thought maybe he was busy cooking...do you think he's still with Tracy?"

"Um...I-I don't know...he didn't text me either....Oh my -" Bambam nervously replied and started dialing his brother's number. "Oh my gosh, Jack...please pick up...pick up!"

Jinyoung scrunched his brows and wondered why Bambam seemed so nervous and worried. There was something that he couldn't quite point out. Did Bambam know something that he didn't? Was Tracy not just a friend? Jinyoung thought.

"Fuck! Jackson...the fuck! Pick up!" Bambam now frantically frustrated when his brother didn't pick up at all.

"Bam! What's going on? Calm down. Maybe your brother was just caught up with something...maybe he and his friend were catching up so well that he didn't notice the time. Relax coz you're making me nervous."

Bambam disregarded what Jinyoung said and continued to keep on calling his brother. Panic was seen in his eyes. He walked towards Bambam to calm the younger's nerves. "Bam, relax, please. Maybe your brother was having so much fun with his friend. No need to panic....you're scaring me now....Know what? call Tracy and maybe you'll get through."

Bambam closed his eyes and took a deep sigh, "H-he is not with Tracy. That's why I am worried. He left Tracy's office...5 hours ago. And my brother won't go anywhere without telling me or you."

"How'd you know that? I thought your brother didn't call or text you?

"He didn't but I know he wasn't with Tracy....because I called Tracy to know how the meeting went. And he usually would go a place to clear his mind after his appointment. It usually takes him an hour or two to do that then I thought he went to see you...coz....coz, you're the one who makes him forget all his troubles. B-but you came home alone...and he is not answering. I am worried because...what if -" Bambam gasped.

"What if...what, Bam? You're really scaring me now...what troubles? Is Jackson in trouble?" Jinyoung questioned.

"We need to find him, Jinyoung. Please? We can drive to places he might be...places I knew he likes to go to when he needs space....place he needed to breathe. Please, Jinyoung." Bambam pleaded.

Jinyoung had too many questions. He was confused on what Bambam was implying about. But those could be set aside for now because he wanted to find Jackson. He nodded and grabbed his car keys and coat to lead Bambam to the car.

As soon as he sat on the driver's seat, Jinyoung said, "We will look for your brother. I have no idea what's going on and I have too many questions running in my mind right now but I won't ask until we find your brother. Now, tell me where to go."

They went from one place to another, every place Bambam could think of but Jackson was nowhere to be found. It has been 3 hours since they were driving around the city. Bambam could tell Jinyoung was getting tired but would not stop until they find Jackson.

Bambam got in the car after checking the last place he could think of. No luck. Jinyoung was determined to drive every corner of the city just to find his fiancรฉ. "Where to next, Bam? It's getting late, Jackson shouldn't be out this late. What if something happened to him? Oh God, please no."

Bambam took out his phone and called someone. "Hello, Tracy? Sorry to bother you but do you know where my brother is?" Silence filled the air and Bambam was diligently listening and then all Jinyoung could hear was, "Oh....ok. Sorry to disturb you. Thanks, Tracy."

As soon as Bambam hung up, Jinyoung said, "So? Does she know where your brother is at? All this time, you knew that she might know where Jackson is and you didn't call her first to ask? The fuck is going on, Bam? I know, you're keeping something from me...I think, it's time to spill."

"Let's...let's go home, first, Jinyoung. I have something to tell you." Bambam quietly answered, which made Jinyoung's heart beats nervously. Jinyoung couldn't shake the feeling that the talk they would have when they get home wouldn't be good. He hoped his hunch was wrong.

When Bambam opened the door, he dashed all the way to his brother's bedroom and opened the closet. Empty. He opened his drawer. Empty. Jackson left. His brother left without notice. Bambam dropped to his knees and started crying.

Jinyoung heard the younger one's crying and followed him in their bedroom. He saw the opened closet and drawers. They were all empty, except for his clothes. He looked at the corner of their room where Jackson's luggage was and it was gone. He glanced at Bambam, crying his eyes out. He has no idea what was going on. He was so confused. He was drowning in thoughts. He left the younger one alone and went on the living room.

He sat down on the couch and dialed Jackson's number. Sorry the person you're calling is not available. Please leave a message after the tone. He called again and again. Same voicemail greetings. He was getting frustrated and started cursing the damn answering machine.

He took a deep breath to calm himself, "Baby? It's me. Where are you? You are making me worried. Is there something going on? You can tell me. Please. I'm here to help you carry whatever that burdens you. Please baby...answer me." Jinyoung calmly left a voicemail and hoped that Jackson gets it.

He closed his eyes, his head ached as too many questions were boggling his mind. What the fuck is going on. Where is Jackson? Why is Bambam crying? He took another deep breath and was about to get up from the couch to comfort the younger one when his phone beeps. A text...from Jackson. He gasped and hurriedly opened his phone.

SEUNIE

Hey, Jinyoung. Don't worry about me. I'm ok.

Did you eat your supper?

It's late. I hope you're in bed relaxing now.

Please don't wait for me.

ME

Seunie, how can I not worry when you're not home yet.

Where are you? I'll pick you up.

We've been driving around the city looking for you.

Bambam ran inside your room and then started crying.

What is going on?

Five minutes later his phone suddenly rang. Jackson. Jinyoung accepted the call right away. "Seunie...where are you? Bambam is crying his eyes out....please tell me what's going on?"

Silence. Jackson's breathing was the only indication that someone's on the other line. It took a minute or two before Jackson spoke, voice low and raspier than his normal tone, "Hi, Jinyoungie. I'm so sorry. I am very sorry. I don't deserve you at all."

Jinyoung heard a sniffle, "Baby, what are you talking about? are you crying? Where are you? I'm picking you up."

"N-no. I-I'm not crying. You can't pick me up. I-I'm back home. In Beijing."

"What?!? What do you mean Beijing? You flew home? Why? Was it your parents?"

"Y-yes. I'm back home. And my parents....T-they're ok...everyone's fine. I-I..." Jackson paused. Silence once again filled the phone line. Five minutes. Ten minutes had passed.

Jinyoung finally broke the silence, "Baby, what is going on? Please tell me. You're making me really worried."

"Jinyoung -" Jackson paused, a sniffle was heard, "I-I want to break up." Jackson calmly uttered.

Jinyoung blinked repeatedly, trying to understand what Jackson had just said. "B-break up? What are you talking about, baby? Stop joking. If you think I was upset coz you left without notice...I am not but I need an explanation at least. And what do you mean? break up? It's not funny, baby."

"I am serious, Jinyoung. Please let me go. I don't deserve you. You deserve better." Jackson quietly replied.

"Suddenly? Why? Give me one good reason why you want to break up?" Jinyoung calmly asked, controlled himself not burst out of anger.

"Please do not make this difficult. I don't think I can bear more distance away from you. I can't. I'm tired. I am so tired. Please...Jinyoung. I-I don't want you to understand me. I don't want you to wait for me. What I want you to do is forget about me. Hate me for breaking my promise. Curse me for breaking your heart." Jackson firmly said, trying his best not to break down while on the phone, "Don't think about me. Don't look for me. Just let me go. Please move on from me. Hate me....but I ask you one thing, please do not take your anger out on my brother...he didn't know anything about my decision." Jinyoung heard a stifled crying sound, "Thank you for the most wonderful 13 months of my life. I truly loved you but unfortunately, I couldn't continue this anymore....this long distance is killing me. Goodbye, Jinyoung Park." With those last words, Jinyoung heard the line died before he could even say anything at all.

He couldn't accept it...he dialed Jackson's number over and over again for hours but nothing. That same voicemail again!

He sat down quietly, stared blankly at the wall, he couldn't believe it. What the fuck just happened? What went wrong? What did I do wrong? What did I say to make him leave me? Jinyoung was too shocked to feel anything.

Bambam finally came out from the bedroom and stared at Jinyoung. His heart ached for him. And his brother. He opened his mouth to say, "Jinyoung, I -"

Jinyoung raised his hand to stop Bambam from continuing. He got up, grabbed his car keys, "I-I'll take my stuff tomorrow." That was the last time Bambam saw or heard from Jinyoung.

โฉโฉโฉ

Jinyoung tried his best to understand why Jackson broke up with him. He racked up his brain to think what was the real reason because he didn't want to hate nor move on from Jackson. He didn't want to give up easily. He wanted to understand what was going on. He wanted answers but it never came.

A week turned to two. A month turned to three. Three turned into six months. He still want to understand what happened from Jackson's perspective. He questioned himself as a partner everyday since that night. Maybe he was lacking as a partner. Maybe his love was suffocating Jackson. Maybe he was too clingy. Maybe...full of maybes...he was so lost. He didn't know what he did.

He began losing it...his heart which Jackson occupied once was beginning to feel like it was cracking...breaking. He felt numb. So numb that he pushed everyone away.

Mark knocked on his door and slowly opened it. He walked inside and kneeled beside Jinyoung's bed. "Jinyoung-ah...how long are you planning to sulk here?!? You're beginning to neglect your work. The publishing company called again asking when will you return." Mark sighed, "I can't fathom how you feel...I can't say I know how it felt but you can't continue being like this...you have start living again, Jinyoung-ah. Stop ignoring all of us who love you. I-I want you to know that you have your family waiting patiently to hold and comfort you. Why don't you go home for a while...it might do you good."

Jinyoung didn't even move to acknowledge his cousin. He started to feel hatred. He started to feel bitterness. He started to feel anger. And he didn't like that at all. Not if those new feelings were towards Jackson.

As time passes by, his confusion turned to sadness. Sadness to hurt. Hurt turned to anger. Now, at this moment, he was so angry...at himself....at everyone....especially at Jackson and the people around him. Jinyoung's heart was filled with anger. He eventually, decided to pick himself up and showed Jackson that it was his loss for letting him go. He was not the same Jinyoung Park that once loved Jackson Wang.

โฉโฉโฉ

"Jack! What are you doing here?" Bambam was surprised to see his brother in his office.

"Hey, Bammie...nice to see you again." Jackson hugged his little brother tightly. Jackson needed that. He needed all the comfort that he could get even if he felt he didn't deserve it. He needed strength. He needed his brother beside him more than ever now. "I just came back from my last appointment with Tracy before I start seeing...." He paused and flashed his brother a small smile, "Anyway, I-I thought to pass by to see you. I heard from Youngjae that you were doing pretty well with your new position. I knew you would and I am glad." Jackson informed Bambam as he looked around his office.

Bambam stood there, blankly stared at him. Jackson smiled but his eyes looked sad. Bambam opened his mouth, "Why did you do it, Jack? Do you really have to? I mean...what you did was cruel. It broke my heart to him that night. You know he'll understand it if you just told him upfront. You didn't need to do it that way."

Jackson sat down on the chair, he inhaled and then exhaled slowly. He glanced outside the window. Contemplated if he should ask Bambam about Jinyoung. "How is he? Did he move on? I hope he is happy." Sadness filled his glassy eyes.

"What do you think, Jack? I couldn't forget how he looked on that day. He was so lost. He was heart broken. He shut everyone out including his family. Yugyeom said he didn't want to see anyone. He moved out from the apartment that he shared with Mark. Last time, I heard...he finally picked up the pieces and moved on....but he is not the same Jinyoung you fell in love with anymore. I am glad that he started meeting with his friends again a week ago....but he stayed away from me and Youngjae...anyone associated with you."

"Good. I am glad." Jackson melancholy mumbled. He too one more deep breath and got up, "Aight, I just passed by to see you and Youngjae quickly. It's nice to see you, bro...you take care of yourself."

"I heard you also moved out on your own a week since you got back home. And change your number? Dad told me when I called looking for you. Do you know that Mom cries every night for you? Don't you think you're being unfair? selfish?" Bambam accused his brother.

Jackson sighed. "This is my burden I have to carry. I will deal with this any way I can. Anyway I know how. If that's being unfair or selfish...so be it, Bam." Jackson reached for the knob when Bambam grabbed his elbow to stop him from leaving.

"No. This burden is not for you to deal with...alone. That's what we're here for, Jack. That is what the people who love you are here for. To help you carry your burden with you. We are your family...your burden is our burden too. Please stop pushing us away. Please, Jack....don't push mom, dad and I away. Remember you once told me Ohana? Remember? When we watched Lilo & Stitch...you told me Bammie, Ohana means family...family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. So, why are you leaving us behind? Why are you giving up? You should fight and as a family, we will fight this together until the end."

"Ohana." Jackson scoffed. "Family. Nobody gets left behind or forgotten. Bam, that was a line from a Disney cartoon. So, please don't use that on me. We were young then. Besides, I don't want to hold any of you back. I want you, mom and dad to continue what you do. It will be easy for everyone."

"How can we continue as if nothing's changed? As if you're ok. Jack, did you ever think of how we feel? The people you're leaving behind? You think this is easy for us to swallow. Mom and I cried for hours when we found out. Dad...he might not show it but he broke down. Jack, what I am trying to say is...please don't push us away. We're here to ease all of this. Please?"

"I don't want all of you to be sad...to suffer coz of me, Bam. I don't want you to remember me this way...not this way." Jackson finally broke down.

Bambam hugged his brother tightly, "No, Jack. What you're doing right now makes us sadder. And you're not definitely making it easier for us. Let's just cherish what we have, ok? Stay with me until your flight home?"

Jackson surrendered. He knew he lost to his brother. He couldn't believe how much his brother had grown and matured.

๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘

Jackson broke Jinyoung's heart.

I think we all kind of know why, right?

It will all be revealed next chapter.

Let's do the usual. Click โญ or vote if you liked the chapter.

๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“ A/N:

I think this and the next chapter are the hardest I had ever written.

This made me sad, honestly. I mean I wrote something similar like this on my previous stories
but this one was just too hard for me...I don't know.

Let's talk.

How do you feel about the break up? rushed? I have to...because I want a very angry Jinyoung.

He should be angry. I cheer for him to be angry...sooo angry at Jackson.

It's the worst to get dumped when you thought all along everything was fine, right?

Tell me what's the worst break up for you?

Is everyone ready for the last chapter?
