🐹 Surprise! Sea of Sunflowers🐹 Kohane Azusawa x Reader

"Thanks for coming on such a short notice, Kohane! I really appreciate it." You sheepishly smile as you take your seat.
"It's no problem, r-really! I.. um... actually... I actually was planning on asking y-you to check this cafe out with me so...," Kohane shyly reassures, smiling back.
"Really?? Haha, I guess I just beat you to it!" Taking up the menu in your hands, you browse the options. "Anything catch your eye yet, hammie?"
It's cute, watching Kohane's face turn red almost immediately like some kind of chemical reaction. "U-Uhm..! I... I-I uh.... W-Well... no, not really...!"
"Mm, yea, these names are kinda vague... it's nice for aesthetics I guess but.. you can't really figure out what's in the drinks themselves...." You ball one of your hands into a fist and hit it on your other hand spread into an open palm, "Oh, I know! Let's both get something that sounds good and we'll share them, so we can choose which one we like better out of the two. Who knows, we might like something we didn't think we would like!"
"Oh, that sounds good! Then.. I'll go with the 'Sunflower Seed'. "
"Okay, I'll get the 'Love U A-Latte'!"

You place your orders with the waiter, and they soon arrive with your two drinks. Before you two can take a sip, you signal to Kohane to wait by holding up a hand.
"Actually, Kohane, I asked you out here because I had a lil secret something prepared for you. Close your eyes!"
"H-Huh? A surprise..? Y-You really shouldn't have, hehe..!" She giggles and closes her eyes as she was told, smiling ever so humble.
"Well I have! Now c'mon, let's get going!" Holding out a hand to her, you prompt Kohane to take it.
"W-Wait, we're going s-somewhere?"
"Yup, it's a little outside of town but it's close enough so our drinks won't get cold by the time we arrive."
"Al... Alright then, lead the way!" And with that, Kohane takes your hand and the both of you are off.

Stepping out of the cafe and onto the sidewalk, you immediately begin walking to your destination. Your grip is firm but gentle on Kohane's trembling hand, undoubtedly anxious about where you two are going. Lightly, you squeeze her hand to comfort, and you watch as her shoulders untense and her steps become confident.

Looking around you, the street is a little unfamiliar. It was a completely different vibe than, say, Kamiyama Street or Vivid Street, leaning more to a comfy suburban look. The cafe itself had its grand opening a few days ago, so it was all new to you. It also had a different atmosphere from WEEKEND GARAGE, with the new cafe leaning towards cottage-like. That comfy vibe it encapsulated reminded you a lot of Kohane, and you figured she'd like it a lot. It's a shame that you couldn't spend more time in it, but you're confident she'll like the place you're taking her to even more!

"Aaaandd we're here! You can open your eyes now." Finally, you've made it. You two look down from a green grassy hill to an ever-expanding field of sunflowers.
Kohane opens her eyes and immediately gasps, covering her mouth with her palm as she looks out upon the several waves of sunflowers, all pointing towards the setting sun.

"Oh wow..! It.... It's so beautiful! Ho-Hold on, I-I gotta get my camera out for this....!" The girl's eyes sparkle as she immediately scrambles for her bag, hurriedly taking out her camera.
As she's busy snapping pictures from a variety of angles, you busy yourself with picking a few nearby sunflowers. Once you gathered enough, you sit down behind Kohane and insert some into her pigtails. This snaps Kohane out of her photography trance, as she turns her head to look at you.

"Ah.. I-I'm so sorry, I.... I must look so rude... It's just... the view is so beautiful from here... A-Again, I'm so sorry...!" Her cheeks flush crimson red, turning away from you out of shame.
"Hehe, it's fine! I liked seeing you get so excited, you looked so cute. Here, your drink. Drink it while it's still hot!" You hand Kohane her 'Sunflower Seed' drink, the cup still warm to your fingers. Picking up your own drink, you scoot from behind Kohane to sit beside her instead.

"My drink has a really caramelly taste! I think I taste a little chocolate too," you exclaim as you take a sip.
"Wow, that sounds good..! M-Mine tastes like vanilla and sea salt." Kohane's face scrunches a little, likely not expecting the salty flavor.
"Hehe, not a fan of the salt? We can swap if you'd like, I think you'd like mine!" She pauses a bit to think about your offer, before nodding and exchanging drinks. Once Kohane gets her drink, she glances over to you, watching you put your lips directly on the straw she had hers on only a couple seconds ago. She can feel her cheeks heat up again, the hand holding your drink trembling as she slowly brings it up to her also shaking lips. Even though you two were already dating... stuff like indirect kisses never ceased to fluster her.

"Mm, your drink's pretty good! How's mine? Do you like it better?" Your voice calls her back to Earth, bringing her back to the ground before she flies away into her thoughts.
"Oh-.. I-I like it...! It's definitely more sweeter... I think I like y-yours more!"
"That's good! I like yours more too, so that makes us even." You smile at her, then face to look at the sun. "Hey, are you gonna show those pictures off to your band? I think they'd like them."
"Yep! I..I was planning on putting them in my album and showing them. I also ki-kind of want to make a whole separate section dedicated to o-our memories, if that's.. if that's alright with you..." Kohane looks down and starts to mumble on the last part of her sentence, but you still caught on. Being around Kohane really trains your ears to listen carefully!
"Aww! That's so cute!! Of course, I'd love that. Hope you have fun bragging to your team tomorrow, hahaha!" Your laugh sounds like it's coming from your heart, and there's a gentle breeze blowing on your face and hair.
Kohane smiles softly. "Hehe.... I'll be sure to tell them all about it."

Sunflowers always face towards the sun, hence their name. But if that really was the case, Kohane wonders, why weren't they facing towards you? 'It's alright', she supposes. Because all the other sunflowers face towards the same sun, but this sunflower planted on top of the hill gets to face her own special sun.

Shining just for her and her alone.
