"Girl a title ain't shit if he ain't faithful"one of the ladies said who was sitting next to Charmaine.

It was funny she said that cause it related to Charmaine situation.
"But he-"

"Keke if you don't tell this girl that nigga is running game on her. "

"Shay...It do sound like he running game. I mean he all up in your face but he go mess around with every other hoe on the block."

The girl who name was Shay sighed. She knew it was true but she loved him too much to believe a word they said.

"She will learn the hard way"
"Listen all I'm going to say is Karma is a son of a- you know what. Wait until these young boys around here have baby girls and they hearts get broke. As the years go on the generation only gets ruthless and more cold hearted. I hate to put it that way,but it's the truth"

Charmaine hair dryer stopped and she moved it then stood up. Malani was still getting her hair braided into two french braids.

It was something cheap and quick so while Charmaine got her hair done she let Malani get her hair done.

She chuckled seeing Malani wince in pain.
"You okay?"
"Mhhm"

"Her hair is beautiful and long. What is she? Hispanic?"

"No. I'm black and her um... Father is sicilian"

"What is that. If you don't mind me asking."
"Italian"  Charmaine said doubling her lips. The stylist nodded her head adding barrettes to the end of her hair.

"You ready to see it?"
"Yes please"She kicked her feet.
She spun her around in the chair.

As predicted Malani was over exaggerating, but it was fine. "
Charmaine went to pay but she pushed the money back.

"It's on me. The hairstyle wasn't even a full ten minutes"
"You sure?"Charmaine looked at her skeptical.

"Positive"she smiled.
Charmaine nodded her head then went back to her hairstylist to pay for her hair do.

She held the door open helping Malani settle into her seat. She squatted picking up the small things Malani got into her carpet.

"You gotta be careful"
"Sorry"she murmered.

A car pulled up behind Charmaine and she rolled her eyes.

"They couldn't park over there"

She quickly finished cleaning the stuff out then she stood up coming face to face with a familiar face.

She looked up at his taller frame while he looked down at her smaller one.

"Charmaine right"
"Mhhm"
"I'm kind of in a rush and I don't mean to sound forward but can I get your number. Maybe we can talk some time soon."

"Stop being shy"

"Try to be more outgoing"

"Not everyone has bad intentions."she reminded herself.

She grew the confidence to speak up.

"Maybe another time"
He smirked running his tongue over his bottom lip.

"Alright...I like you "he waved his finger walking backwards. He wore the same smirk on his face.

Tiani knocked on the door one last time hoping he would open the door.

She took a step back ready to leave when the door came open but he shut it behind him. Bear ignored Tiani presence.

"Bear please just give me two minutes"
He continued to ignore her and he went to his garage and grabbed the set of keys to his truck.

"Please just hear me out"
"What damn. I got shit that needs to be done"

"Can you just meet me later on somewhere then?"
"If I feel like it"he said. From the sounds of it he sounded not even to be interested.

"Just let me know if your up for it and I guess we can make plans then"

"Alright"he got in his truck pulling off.

She sighed knowing getting Bear to forgive her was going to be far from easy.

Charmaine checked her security camera one last time before she actually got comfortable on the couch. Ever since her run in with Griff she been paranoid.

Even though Kain said he had it all under control, but she still stayed cautious.

Malani was in her room doing typical four year old things. She was actually waiting on Kain. She didn't want him to feel like they couldn't be friends cause she finally put her foot down.

Charmaine actually felt bad about it. She felt as if she hurt Kain feelings.

If she would have said that to Kain he'd probably ask what feelings. Let that man tell it he doesn't have any.

She didn't want Kain to distance himself. She just wanted him to make up his mind.

Before she knew it Kain was knocking at the door. She peeked through the peep hole just to be sure.

She opened the door and smiled. She couldn't deny Kain didn't look good. Even in his basic white tee shirt he looked good.

"Hey...Kain"
"If it's going to be awkward like that, then I'm just going to leave"
"No"she said quickly grabbing his arm.

He looked down at her hand over his and she quickly moved it.

"Come on"
"When do you have to go back to Cuba?"

"Two days"she nodded her her head biting the inside of her cheek.

"How have you been. I know we haven't talked since what happened at the club."

"I-I'm fine"she smiled faintly. Kain could tell it was a lie.

"Seriously. I do care about how you feel"
Charmaine looked up from her lap gazing at him.
"I'm scared"

"Of what?"
"Griff. What if he was shooting to kill me. I don't like this feeling. Everywhere I go I'm constantly looking over my shoulder. "

"He ain't going to do nothing to y'all. "Kain reassured her.

"Seeing him again just...I can't help but to think about what he put me through. The last few days it been weighing heavy on me."

"It's okay to be upset or to be hurt, but you been doing this for almost eight months. Don't let it hold you back or bring you down now your hear?"

"Yes"she looked up.
"You a OG doing this shit all on your own. Don't let a damn soul stop you now"

"Thank you she smiled small.
She didn't know she was crying until she felt Kain wipe the tears away.

Being so close Kain felt the sudden urge to kiss Charmaine but she didn't let him she turned her face, and he backed off.

"My bad"
Charmaine didn't say nothing she finished getting her self together. The last thing she wanted to do was to burst out into tears.

Malani came strolling into the living room and Kain left Charmaine to be by herself while he picked Malani up. After all it had been too long since he seen her.

"Hey Lani"he planted a soft kiss on her cheek. She smiled hugging his neck tightly. Malani and Kain had a tight bond. The impact they had on each other life was crazy.

Malani finally had a positive male role model in her life. Someone who was there for her,and help her.

The next few years of her life were the most important ones. This was the time where she learned a lot ,and it was important for her to have someone like Kain in her life.

On Kain worse days the only thing to keep him sane was Malani. She could bring a smile to just about anybody face.

Slowly but surely Kain was growing love for her.
