As Kain drove there was a comfortable silence,everybody in their own thoughts. Kain ended up roughing up Charmaine landlord. Charmaine begged him not to do anything to harm him.

The last thing she needed was someone getting in trouble with the law enforcement 

Now they were on their way over Kain house. Cause what happened left everyone feeling uneasy and uncomfirtable.

Kain looked at Charmaine then back at the road. One hand rested under. his chin while he drove.

Charmaine put her hand on the back of Kain head Caressing it.
"You okay?"they both asked at the same time.

"I'm fine. I was just asking cause you seemed like you had a lot on your mind. "

"Nah i'm good"he reassured her.
"Okay" she sighed.

"Keep doing that"Kain said
Charmaine laughed knowing he was going to say that as soon as she stopped.
She caressed the back of his head rubbing small circles being careful not to mess up his waves.

Charmaine peeked in the back seeing Malani passed out.

"I knew she was going to fall to sleep"

Kain passed the gates of his hime then he drove up the driveway.

Charmaine moved her hand and placed it in her lap.
Kain got out the car and he went around the opposite side to get Malani out for Charmaine.

"Thank you"she half smiled and followed him.

Kain got up to the front door and pushed it open.

Kain laid Malani on one of the sectionals and Charmaine took a seat on the other couch.

She took her shoes off and stretched out so Kain wouldn't sit next to her.

"You real funny "He pushed her legs away.

"So i've been told"she raised her eyebrows.
Kain shook his head  as he laid down next to her on the couch.

She sat up enclosing any empty space that was between then and she hugged him tightly.

Kain started to push her off but it didn't work,she clung on to him.
He wrapped his arms around her tightly.

"Okay" she tried to push him away but he didn't budge.
"I can't breath"she squealed.

Kain let her go and he looked at her.
"You look nice today"
"Thank you."

" I don't get no complement?"
"I wasn't finished talking"she side eyed him.

L a t e r

Charmaine and Kain ended up in his room smoking.
"Pass that shit"Kain reached for the blunt but Charmaine pulled back hitting it one more time before she passed it

"Remind me not smoke with you again. "Kain snatched it from her.

"Whatever she waved him off. She crawled back on the bed and sat with her head against the head board.

"How did you get all this?"
"All of what?"
"The house, the cars the designer... Everything"

"You know what I do"Kain laughed
"Yeah but where did you start?"
"Well my father did this before I started so I Ain't gon lie I had some what of an advantage. But I still had to bust my ass to prove to my father this job suits me. I took what he left and flipped it. The money he would make in five years, I can make in two"

Charmaine laid her head on his shoulder whole he talked.
"I wish I-"
"All you got to do is grind that's it. Stay focused"

"I am "
"I know you are. Out here working for me... Your money gotta be long by now"
Charmaine laughed kissing her teeth.

"I mean..."she trailed off and they both laughed.
"Listen all you got to do is work hard."

"One day"

Charmaine put the blunt out in a ashtray and sighed heavily.
Kain caught himself in a daze again. There was no denying he had lusted over Charmaine and vice versa but he wouldn't do anything with her cause she wasn't ready for what Kain had to offer.  Besides Charmaine wasn't the type to give it up easily.

"Can you not look at me like that"Charmaine looked away.
"Why?"Kain asked as if he had no idea what he was doing.

"You know what your doing"Kain laughed outloud sitting up in his seat.

"Alright"he gave her a once over one more time.
"Why are you always starring at me"
"You always starring at me"

"Well I guess that make us two fine people"
Kain faked coughed and Charmaine shoved him.

"I'm just kidding"he laughed pulling her close.
"Light as a feather"

"For your information I gained a few pounds. I actually weight one fourteen"

"I know I mess with you and say you light weight and all that other shit but don't gain weight cause I pick on you about it. Do it cause it's something you want to do. "

"I do want to gain weight. I'm a fat girl trapped in this body"

Kain raised his eyebrows and Charmaine sucked her teeth pulling her phone out.

"I'll show you" she pulled up an old picture of her in the beginning of high school.

"See"she pointed.
"I guess you were"he smirked.

"Exactly. I can't wait until I gain it all back

She put her phone away and silence fell between them.

"I got a question"Kain said clearing his throat.
"What?"Charmaine asked.

"You know females be screaming niggas ain't shit blah blah cause a nigga done did them dirty in the past"

"Yeah"Charmaine said.
"I mean that bitch made nigga really fucked you over and did some crazy shit to you but you still ... You ,you feel me?"

"What do you mean I'm still me?"
"You ain't out here talking about niggas ain't shit and all that other bogus. You still pushing forward. That shit don't seem to bother you."

She let out a small chuckle before sitting back.

"Trust me. It still bothers me. That man ruined my entire life the only good thing I got out of that situation was I learned not to trust everybody and my daughter. Not one day go by that I don't think about something he has done to me. However I know there are still good guys out there. I won't be mad and scared of every guy cause what he has done. He was a screwed up individual and sometimes I wonder why ai was the one who had to put up with his shit"

"I fuck with that"Kain said.
"Can you stop cussing so much"she groaned

"Why you be getting so tight over that? I was letting you know I like your way of thinking "
"Cause you cuss way too much"
"It's apart of my everyday vocabulary "

Kain phone rang and he asked Charmaine to pass it to him.

It was Anastasia calling him. He declined the call.

"That was the girl from a few days ago?"
"Don't worry about her"

Charmaine trusted his word and she laid back on the bed.
"You know what you should do?"

"What?"Kain asked.
