Charmaine huffed pulling her hoodie over her head. She didn't like the additude Kain seemed to have.

"Bye"she waved walking out. She knew she could catch a ride with Kain but she didn't want to be bothered.

Kain followed her out. Not to catch up with her but he had work to be done else where.

Tiani was outside waiting with Malani.
Charmaine walked over to the passenger seat getting in.
"Hey yall"she looked at them tiredly.

"Hey"they said in unison.
"Look like you had a long day"Tiani frowned.

"Yeah​... Kain was giving me the cold shoulder but it's whatever"
Tiani turned her nose up rolling her eyes.

"Still two more weeks?"Malani asked.
"Yeah two more weeks"Charmaine smiled.
As promised Charmaine booked them tickets to Florida so they could go to Disneyland.

"Girl i'm ready"Tiani smiled with her tongue out.
"Mhhmm "Charmaine agreed.
"Girl...let Kain find out you tryin' to get your mack on"Tiani warned her.

"Okay so first and for most. Kain ain't my daddy, he is not my man.  and I ain't trying to have too much fun. I just want to meet new people. Plus you over here in my face like Bear won't be blowing smoke all up your ass.

"He won't now-"

Charmaine cut her off with the girl code look.
"Stop trying to tell your self yall not all that serious. You know darn well that man loves you"
Tiani smiled she knew Charmaine was right.

"This nigga goofy as shit"Omarion read the letter that
Kain got in his P.O box.

"I can get a couple corner boys to fuck him up"Bear added.
"That's what I'm gon' have them do. Get him and bring him to me. That nigga must be out of his god damn mind to think he over here scaring anybody with them weak ass threats." Kain sat back interlocking his fingers.

"That nigga got beef with you for what?"bear asked.
"He mad. He use to fuck with Charmaine. That's the only reason I see besides the fact that I Ain't want to do business with his scheming ass"Kain kept it short not putting any of her business out there.

"All over some pussy"he shook his head.
Kain furrowed his eyebrows looking at him.
"I ain't mean it like that ... You know what I mean"

"What's going on with yall anyway? You feeling her or what?"

"I'm focused on this paper right now" Kain said with a slight smile.

"Lieing like a muthafucka'  "Omarion shook his head. Kain let the comment roll.

"When you get a chance go over my pops house he got more information"

"Why don't you do it?"
"That nigga get on my damn nerves."he shook his head.

"Can I have my iPad?"Malani asked.
"Go get my purse. "Malani ran off while Tiani returned with a bowl of chips.

"I'm telling you these are the best chips ever"she stuffed her face with more.

Malani came back and Charmaine went through her purse to grab the Ipad.

"Thirty minutes"she warned her.
"Why you so strict on her?"Tiani kissed her teeth.
"Cause kids are easily influenced with technology now and days. I don't want her to get too In tuned with it.

"True" T agreed with her.
"So your birthday coming up soon"she changed the subject.

"We still got time"

Meanwhile Malani was in her room on FaceTime with Kain. He had taught her how to use the app. Being as though Kain and Charmaine haven't been seeing eye to eye Malani hasn't seen much of her "best friend" Kain until today when Face Timed.
Her.

Two days later

"You still coming out tonight?" Kain asked Charmaine. She nodded her head not bothering to give him her undivided attention.

Kain only nodded his head. She handed the Checks over to him.

His phone rang and he picked it up.

On the other end was one of the cops Kain father had on his payroll.

"Yo?"
"switch the vans"Timothy said.
"Good looking "Kain sighed before grabbing keys.

The van that drugs were transporting the  was being watched by the feds, whenever Timothy gave them a call he knew that they were plotting on Kain

"My partner plan on moving within the next twenty four hours."
"Aight thank you man"Kain scratched his beard. 

He disconnected the call and stood up grabbing his jacket.
"Come on"he said to Charmaine. She put the form she was in the middle of filling out down and stood up.

She grabbed her wallet and jacket following him out.

Kain held the door open for her they extanged no words but the tension was defiantly there.

Kain wasn't mad at her but he wanted to keep their relationship strictly business as much as he could. He didn't need no interference with his money plus he did vowel to himself not to mess with the woman he worked with. However he still wanted to keep her around for the sake of Malani. Everyday she asked for him,and whenever she called him from FaceTime he would answer.

If you were to ask anyone else it sounded like an excuse to keep Charmaine around

Charmaine wasn't too fond with the additude she thought he still had. All day he had been demanding things.

"I can get that myself"she muttered. Kain ignored her as he popped the locks to the van.

"Grab that licence plate out the back"Kain instructed.

Charmaine reached in the backseat grabbing the licence plate sitting it on the dashboard.

Charmaine wanted to ask Kain what was wrong but she couldn't find her self to do it just yet.

Kain was on the high way pushing sixty miles an hour. He had Charmaine send a text to one of his drivers to meet him at a parking garage so they could switch vehicles.

After and uncomfortable thirty minutes of silence Charmaine finally spoke up.

"Did I do something?"Charmaine asked turning in her seat.
Kain licked his lips then looked at her.

"Nah you cool"he let one hand off the steering wheel.
"Why are you being so... Mean... Like why are you giving me the cold shoulder. I must have done something wrong"

She was right. She did do something. She made Kain feel. Way he had never felt before. Everything from the way she smiled to the way she told her corny jokes. He liked Charmaine company. Everything about her felt real and genuine.

He hated that he had to push her away but that was for the both of their good.
