"I'll be right back"Charmaine told them taking her seat belt off.

"Hurry up"Malani rushed her.
"Who you talking to little girl?"Charmaine asked.
"Nobody"

"Oh okay I thought so"she shut the car door walking into the club. Everyone was prepping for tonight. She walked to the back hallway and down the stairs to Kain office.

The door was shut so she knocked on it. She could smell the smoke from the hallway.

"Who is it?" Kain semi raspy voice said. C-Char" she said. After a few seconds the door opened and Kain was reviled.

"Wassup"he said stepping back.
"Hey"she muttered looking everywhere but at him.

Kain sucked his teeth rubbing his hands over his waves.
"Why you acting weird and shit now?" He asked.

Charmaine ignored him walking over to the desk where she seen her wallet.

She grabbed it and when she turned around she jumped.
"You don't hear me talking to you?"Kain asked looking at her.

"What do you want me to say or do?"
"I Ain't asking you to say or do anything you over here being weird. "

"But i'm not"
"Look at me then"he said.
She shook here head looking down.

"Exactly. If that kiss made you uncomfortable forget that shit even happened. It was an accident. I ain't mean nothing by it no way"Kain shrugged walking away.

"Why are you getting frustrated now"Charmaine asked taken back by his words.

"Bye"
"I ju-"
"Get out"he nodded his head to the door.
"Gladly"she slammed the door behind her.

Kain was more so upset that Charmaine made it seem like that wasn't what she wanted. He didn't understand why she was being weird now.

Charmaine thought Kain was dodging her. After the kiss he went missing for a week. What she didn't know was Kain went out of the country.

Maybe if they would have communicated everything would have been peaches and cream.

Charmaine got in the car aggressively which made Tiani laugh.
"What happened? Your boo ain't give you no suga' ?"
"What?"Charmaine asked.

"Kain ain't give you no kiss"she laughed harder.
"H-how-"

"I peep everything. "
"Well what gave it away"Charmaine asked as Tiani pulled off.

"I mean Kain did leave a passion mark on your neck"

"How you know it was him?"Charmaine asked
"It couldn't be no body other then Kain.

Charmaine bit the inside of her cheek
I need to be more careful next time... If there is a next time

"So what's going on with yall?"Tiani asked her.

"T I don't know. Were friends the kiss happened by accident "
"No feelings involved"

"I don't know Kain said he had no f-"Tiani laughed waving her off.

"Girl the way Kain look at you it's evident he got feelings for you. He just afraid to admit it. You know that nigga got too much damn pride.

"I doubt it we were smoking and he been drinking so one thing led to another."Charmaine shrugged.

"Did he express any feelings to you that night? You know drunk people tell the truth when they drunk."

"No. We were having casual conversations...I don't want to talk about it no more."

Kain burned the video on to the CD. He locked up his office then left out the club. The way Charmaine was acting made him frustrated.

"Don't get involved with the ones you work with" he reminder himself.

Kain had a strong liking for Charmaine. He wasn't sure what it was that made his attracted to her so much.

As much as he tried to get Charmaine off his mind it didn't work. He got in his truck pulling off. He noticed Omarion was right behind him.

"You a lover boy"Omarion teased.
"Kain kissed his teeth waving him off as he made a right after the light.

I'll be damned if I fall for another hoe.

Kain phone buzzed and he seen it was his sister.

Khalila-Can you come get me?-4:47

Kain-For what? Ain't you suppose to be at work?-4:47

Khalila-Can you get me or not?-4:50

Kain made a U-turn going to the local bakery his little sister worked at. He wasn't not going to pick her up. He just didn't like her tone from the way she was texting.

He pulled up on the curb and shot her a text. Once she was in sight Kain could tell she had a rough day by the way she was walking and the mug on her face.

He popped the locks letting her in

"What's up with you?"He asked pulling off.
She shook her leg not saying nothing.

"Khalila" he said sternly.
"What!? Damn"
"You must forgot who the fuck I am talking to me like that"

"Sorry "she huffed pushing her hair out her face.
"What's going on?"

"I almost got fired cause Da'von came up there acting out. Then his sneaky ass had the audacity to bring some ugly ass broad up there with him. Like that got me hot. I'm done with him"

"You should have been done with that nigga"Kain said scrunching his face up.

"Don't ever...ever settle for another bum ass nigga you hear me?"he asked looking at her then back at the road.

"Yes"she mumbled.

Charmaine walked around holding Malani hand. "You want to get ice cream?"she asked Malani as they approached the kiosk.

"No"Charmaine nodded her head as they turned around. She looked around trying to find Tiani but in a distance she found someone else. She seen Griff and a few other guys she knew for a fact he worked with.

"Lani come on"she rushed her
"Mommy look at the-"
"Now!"She grabbed her arm pulling her along in the opposite direction.

She picked up her phone calling Tiani but it went straight to voicemail.

"Come on"Charmaine rushed Malani through the emergency exit.

"Why do we have to leave?"Malani asked

"Don't worry about it. Let's go.
