"Here are your keys!" The landlord dropped them into Charmaine hands. He starred her down before leaving with a smirk on his face

As for her a big weight was lifted off her shoulders.

The only place that could move her in quick was apartments in the projects. Not the same one by Griff's house. These ones were a little bit better. There were not so many liquor stores and junkies walking around. It's  defentaly not the environment she wants Lani in but it would have to do for now.  The outside of the apartments didn't match the inside. They weren't as bad as you thought it would look.

The last three days Charmaine been staying in a shelter. So this apartment was a blessing. Being as though she didn't trust anyone to watch Lani she has not been to work either.

She was hoping they would spare her.  She finally decided to ask Tiani for a little help watching Lani. Today she needed to try and make some money. Or else she would be evicted before she even lived there a full two months.

Charmaine was getting ready while waiting on Tiani. She wanted Tiani to stay at her house. She didn't was Lani around the people Tiani knows just in case. The only a fruniture in Charmaine home was Lani's matress and a fold out chair. She didn't want anything that came from griff. However she had all their clothes and necessities. 

"Mommy toast " lani held out a loaf of bread. Being as though there was no toaster Charmaine but the bred in the oven to toast it. She made sure Lani knew better than to touch the hot oven before going back to doing her hair.

Lani was not dumb at all. Most people believe she has a mental disability or mental retardation cause she seems a little behind than other kids,but she is far from it. Being as though she has never been around other kids cause Griff didn't allow her to interact with kids by going to daycare or preschool. Charmaine had to teach her herself.
By the young age of two Lani could recite the alphabet, Count to fifteen and tell her left from right. By three she knew simple math problems like one plus one or two plus two. Lani just does not like to use her communication skills. Half the reason being she is scared and shy from all that she has seen and encountered at just a young age.

Tiani would most likely be the only person to know where Charmaine live. Charmaine finally felt like she had the chance to start life all over again.
No more Griff!

There was a knock at the door causing Charmaine​ to run down the hall. Trying to get Lani toast and the door.

Kain sat back in his chair not pleased with the "wolf tickets" this man was selling.
"So why should I hire you If you worked for a nigga ....You know I don't fuck with. I feel like your insulting my intelligence playing these mind games. "He said stroking his beard.

"No not at all... Look man I just need a job. Working for Q was just a coincidence. "

"You want a job so badly check this place out "Kain said sliding him a sticky note with a pizza store number on it.

"You got more luck there cause I ain't damn sure hiring you" he said sitting back clasping his hands together.

Without further word the guy got up escorted out by a guard. He took another box down from the cabnit shredding more papers. If the wrong person got their hands ln any of these papers that would be horrible.

Charmaine walked in the club seeing a couple girls eyeing her. Most of them envy of Charmaine.  Little did they know Charmaine life was nothing to be jealous of . Too bad they didn't know that.

"Do you know where I can find the manager or boss?"
"I'm manager what can I do for you?" a very short light skin girl said.
"The boss "
"Well didn't you just say Or manager ?"

"Yea well I really need to talk to the boss about job "
"You must be ol girl who walked out on your first day. " she chuckled flipping her indian straight weave.   "Can I see the boss "Charmaine said now growing impacient.

"I'll see"she rolled her eyes walking away. Charmaine took a seat at the bar. All the ladies were getting ready for when the club opened in a hour.

Kain sat back getting frustrated trying to find papers he needed and separating them from the ones that he no longer needed. Inhaling the smoke he held it for a little then blew it out. Three soft knocks came at his door. Knowing it wasn't Omarion he got up answering the door.
  
"What?"he sighed
"A girl wants to see you " he looked at the time seeing it was about time of his daily head appointment.
"Go ahead and send her down " he said returning back to his seat.

"Girl lets go"the girl waved her.
Charmaine stood up following the girl down the hallway and to a basement she never knee existed. It didn't even look like a basement for that matter.

"K got a girl so don't try no slick shit " The lightskin girl said. Charmaine sent her a glare before stopping infront of the door she directed her to.

She knocked at the door. Growing impacient. She was really hoping Kain would spare her.  She needed this job desperately. The way these girls are walking around with nice weave,butt implants, nose jobs she knew they were being paid well....they had to be.

She went to knock again but the door opened. Who she was hoping not to see was standing right before her.
He looked down at Charmaine.
He starred at her. She was very beautiful. She did stick out like a black sheep. All the girls in here had blond or jet black 30 inch Brazilian deep wave or indian straight hair, butt implants, huge boobs ,eyebrows and lip fillers.

Charmaine on the other hand had small breast. Her ass was no competition with other females. Make up was something she only used to cover her bruises and her natural hair was at least eighteen inches long hanging right in the middle of her back,and she had natural full lips.

"Come in " Kain said walking to his seat behind his desk.
Charmaine sat on the opposite side of him. Kain came to realization this may not be the girl coming in to satisfy his needs.

"What you here for?"
"I just wanted to know if i'm still employed here. I know I left first day and haven't been here since ,but I have a great explanation"

"You think....you got a reasonable explanation "
"Y-yea... My daughter woken from her a coma that night. I  been taking care of her and haven't found the time to leave her to work." Charmaine told.

"Baby girl woke up huh?"
"Yeah" kain believed her cause he was there when it all went down.
He still wasn't​ gonna let her off that easy.

" Answer​ me this cause i been wanting to know this... Why ya'll have kids when you ain't stable. Don't got a job but you got a baby "

"Not everyone chose to get pregnant not everyone had a choice either. " Charmaine managed to say. Kain wasn't hoping she was saying what he thought she was saying but he left the situation alone. It was just a question he been dieing to know.

"In all honesty You wasn't doing your job right for the little but of time you were doing it,but I have another​ job for you" he said looking around at his file boxes.
