Charmaine grabbed the mail then pushed the door open with her foot. Kain was sitting on the coffee table shirtless while he played 2k on the play station.

"Where is Malani?"Charmaine asked sitting her bag down.
"Upstairs"Kain paused his game and turned around to look at Charmaine.

"Why you just now getting in?"he asked. He knew it didn't take no three hours to eat lunch.

"We was hanging out"she shrugged her shoulders as she took a seat on the couch.
Kain nodded his head He sat his remote down,and got up going into the kitchen.

"Did you find your friend somewhere to stay?"Charmaine asked following him in the kitchen.

"Yeah he cool"Kain looked back at her while he pulled a water bottle from the fridge.

Charmaine walked around the island then wrapped her arms around Kain torso.Kain wrapped his arms around her. He let his hands roam freely making Charmaine squirm and laugh.

"Stop"she laughed. Kain sucked his teeth picking her up then sitting her on the marble island.

Being able to get a better look. Kain noticed the few scratches on her face.
"What happened to your face?"Kain asked.

Charmaine heart almost skipped a beat. She didn't know if she wanted to lie or tell the truth.

"You not going to answer my question?"Kain asked as he gently touched her face. She winced in pain once he applied pressure.

"Ouch"
"Tell me what happened"he stood back.he was just hoping it wasn't no bullshit.

"I found out Anastasia and all them were the ones that took my stuff ,so Karma and Tiani went with me to Anastasia house and..."

"So you was fighting?"Kain asked with his face turned up.

"Yeah?"
Kain only shook his head walking away. His girlfriend was out looking like some hoodlum. At the same time it was a relief cause he couldn't always fight her battles.

Charmaine stared ahead at the wall. She was perplexed. She could careless if he was really angry. She did what she had to do plus she took the W.

Kain came back with rubbing alcohol and other things.

"So tell me exactly what happened"Kain spoke. He wanted to know the details.

"So when we met up at the cafe-"

Charmaine had just finished putting Malani to sleep. She walked down the long narrow hall to the room which her and Kain shared.

Kain was putting on a pair of his basketball shorts. Water beads still dripped down his back and chest.

"You alright?"Kain asked her.
"I'm fine"she sighed getting in her side of the bed. She just had a lot to focus on.

"What's your plans tomorrow?"Kain asked her. He got in bed besides her. He wrapped his arms around her

"Nothing why?"Charmaine questioned while caressing his face.
"My family is having something for my brother"

"Who Kyle?"
"Nah,The one who passed" Kain was holding up well. He was trying to play it cool. Anyone could tell he was still hurting,but let Kain tell it he was fine.

"That's fine.why don't you ever talk about him?"Charmaine asked.
"I rather not talk about it at all."

Charmaine frowned. Kain was still hurt and she felt for him.

"Take this off"Kain pulled at her loose strap shirt. Charmaine knew Kain was using sex as a distraction for the time being.

The next day

Charmaine sat at her vanity fixing her hair. She had braids in so it wasn't much she could do.

"Come on,fuck"Kain kissed his teeth being sarcastic.
"Don't rush me"Charmaine mugged him through the mirror.
"Hurry up then"

"Can you help Malani put her coat on?by the time you finish I should be ready."

Kain grabbed Malani coat off the back of Charmaine seat.
"Come her Lani"Kain's deep voice said.

Malani hopped off the bed walking over to him.
"I don't like this ugly coat"she fussed.
Charmain cocked her head back when she head Malani say that. She knew she was only being a show off.

"You better put that coat on"Charmaine told her.
"Mane she don't got to wear this ugly ads coat;come on"he grabbed Malani hand taking her to her room to grab another.

Charmaine rolled her eyes as she put all her cosmetics back into the correct place.

Kain did nothing but spoil Malani. Charmaine wiped off her skirt then grabbed her coat. She recently went out to get herself a new one too.

"You ready?"Kain came back in the room with Malani who was satisfied in her pea coat.

"Yeah lets go"
