Denial

Kind of a TW as this is kinda gonna be a bit dark. Life sucks so I write angst to deal with it <3

(Short asf aka 300-400ish words)

___________

Katsuki refused to believe this. To be quite frank, it was impossible for this to happen. How? How could it even happen?

...

It's not true; they must be lying. They have to be. There's no other possibility.

Unless..unless they were telling the truth. It's unlikely but it's.. it's a possibility too.

No, no. It can't be. It simply cannot be.

Kariage couldn't be dead.

It can't be.

He refused to believe it. It just couldn't be true, he concluded yet again. There was no other possible answer. It just wasn't true. Right?

I mean, how could a 16 year old kid just die?

There are many ways though, the small voice at the back of his head whispered.

"Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up!!" He snarled, fists clenching his hair. If it weren't for his self control, he would've ripped some hair out. But hair doesn't matter if Kariage isn't here. Kariage...where was he anyway?

A soft knock on his door alerted him. Intruders? Villains? Kids?

..his parents, maybe?

That soft little knock was so terribly similar to Masaru's own knock. It could be him. But it also could just be some random person like him.

Was Masaru still alive even?

Surely he was. There was no way the old doormat was gone - he may be old but he's a tough one. Deep down. Very deep.

Maybe he was being paranoid. It's been three months since he answered that cursed phone all. The cursed phone call with that solemn sounding women telling him Kariage had died. Of course, he'd hung up immediately.

There was so way that was true, right?

So many questions pumped through his overwhelmed mind, making him forget about the knock. If couldn't of been that important anyway.

Maybe it was, the little voice whispered again.

He clenched his teeth and furiously spoke, his voice shaking the room. Or maybe that was his imagination. "I am not listening to you, you little shady shit."

The little voice shut up. For now, at least. It was a small victory but he was proud nonetheless.

He just wanted something to take his mind of Kariage.

Anything really.

Oh Kariage, he sighed, why'd you leave?

Perhaps he really was dead. Perhaps that was the truth. Perhaps they didn't lie.

Maybe..maybe Katsuki should go join his love on the other side, then?
