Episode 6 - The music room

Standing near the window that overlooked the school yard, Areum was lost in thought as she was wondering about her grandparents' situation after witnessing one of her friends' parents turn into zombies. She knew her mother would be safe as Dr. Son had her medical conference in Incheon near Seoul.

Feeling someone approached her from behind, Areum felt the weight of a hand on top of her shoulder. Turning her gaze upon the person, Areum meet Suhyeok's black eyes as soft smiled exchanged between another.

"What's on your mind?" Suhyeok asked as he stood beside her after seeing the beauty lost in her thoughts before approaching her.

"Just worried about my grandparents. I hope they'll be fine." Areum sighed in worry as she glanced at the tall boy.

"I'm sure they'll be fine." Suhyeok reassured her. "I'm sure your grandfather will keep your grandmother safe, thanks to his survival knowledge after being the military's director." He continues as he remembered Areum's grandfather taught them some survival skills when they were 11 years old.

"I know that but I just can't stop worrying about them." Areum confessed.

"Remember when your grandfather tried to teach us some basic survival skills? I remembered you were excited when he taught us how to tend wounds." The tall boy recalled as he watched a soft smile appear on her face when remembering their small lesson they had received when they were 11 years old.

"Hmm. I did. I also remembered that you prefer the fighting skill lesson from Haraboji compared to that." Areum chuckled. "You always let me win when he trained us, even though I always told you to not let me win." The beauty rolled her eyes when she remembered her frustration when Suhyeok always let her win during their fight training.

"I can't fight against a girl, you know. That's not who I am." Suhyeok grinned when he saw Areum once again rolled her eyes at his statement. From the corner of her eyes, Areum spotted a figure walking toward the window. The black haired girl quickly glanced over Suhyeok shoulder as her eyes become widened when she saw Jimin began to climb on the window sill.

"Jimin-ah!" Areum yelled as she rushed to grab the girl's arm from jumping off the window. The rest of her friends were also run toward them as they helped Areum preventing Jimin from suicide.

"What are you doing?" Joonyeong shouted as he pulled the devastated girl from the window.

"I said let me go!" Jimin shouted as she tried to free herself from her friends' grip.

"Please calm down." Onjo voiced.

"I want to die! Leave me alone!" Jimin hysterically cried.

"Don't be like this." Suhyeok shouted as he helped the others pried Jimin from the window.

"I don't want to live!" Jimin cried as she hung onto the window frame.

"Please leave me alone! Please." The crying girl begged as the group of friends had managed to pry her away from the window.

"Let me go! Please let me go!" Jimin sobbed as both Areum and Onjo held the girl's arms, restraining her movement when she tried to move to the window again. The two girls let go of her arm when Jimin was wailing her eyes on the floor.

"My mom and dad died. What am I supposed to do alone?" Jimin whimpered as tears came out of her eyes.

***********

After the almost suicide incident earlier, Onjo had managed to calm down Jimin as the two female students were currently talked inside the recording room. Areum was sitting on the wheelchair near the desk as she was waiting for the two friends to come out of the recording room. The curtains in the broadcasting room were closed due to the intense sunlight.

"But how do we get out?" Jimin asked through the speaker. Then, the speaker squeaked throughout the broadcasting room, making some of the students cover their ears in pain. Joonyeong quickly went to the entrance door of the broadcasting room to look at the situation at the school hallway.

"We have nowhere to go, anyway." Jimin's voice could be heard through the speaker. Both Areum and Namra went inside of the recording room to switch off the speaker. Opening the door, Areum talked as Namra and herself walked to where the two females were sitting.

"Jimin-ah. Sorry but the mic was switched on in there." Areum mentioned as Namra switched off the microphone on top of the table.

Areum curiously watched her close friend once again push the button of the microphone as the sound of squeaking could be heard through the room. Suhyeok, Daesu and Wujin groaned in pain, covering their ears when they heard the loud squeaking after following the two girls inside the recording room.

"Gross. Can't you people smell this? It stinks." Daesu commented as he pinched his nose from smelling the horrible scent. His best friend, Wujin was coughing after smelling the scent in the recording room.

"Yah. Breathe through your mouth." Wujin instructed.

"What is it?" Areum asked her close friend when she could see Namra's expression after forming an idea after clicking the button of the microphone. The cold exterior girl once more switched off the microphone as she stared at the beauty.

"I think we can get out of here." Namra proposed.

After hearing Namra's proposal of how to get out of the room, the group of friends leave the recording room as the class president gets the small whiteboard from the cabinet. Once she put the whiteboard on top of the table, all of them surrounded the table outside of the recording room as Namra drew the school layout on the whiteboard.

"This is where we are." Namra said as she circled the labelled room on the white board. "This is where Cheongsan is." She continued as she crossed the labelled room where Cheongsan was hiding.

"If we play our music only on this speaker, the zombie will go left." The class president muttered as Areum watched her close friend circle the left side of the school stairwell on the board.

"Then we'll take the stairs to the right, get Cheongsan and get to the roof using the center stairs." Namra explained as she showed the way using the marker on the board.

"But why the roof?" Wujin asked as he glanced at her.

"The choppers keep flying around. If we light a fire on the roof, they might come save us." The class president replied.

"Will the zombie really go toward the speakers?" Daesu questioned.

"I think she's right. They're drawn to sound." Joonyeong answered as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"That's right. When Gyeongsu turned into a zombie, Cheongsan tried to attract him by whistling their song. Gyeongsu immediately attacked him after hearing the whistle." Areum agreed as she glanced over her friends.

"They even come running whenever they hear us." Suhyeok added as he stood in between Daesu and Aruem.

"Can we just turn on only certain speakers we need?" Onjo inquired as she stared at the class president.

"Yes. We'll turn on the ones in the cafeteria, yard and library. And we can draw them there." Namra replied.

"Oh, that's right. You were in the broadcasting club in the tenth grade." Hyeryeong recalled as she glanced at the class president.

"Yes, because my mom made me." The cold exterior girl informed her classmates

"That's all good and all. But where do we get music? There's no internet, so we can't stream it." Daesu uttered as he remembered that there was no internet without the computer desktop. Hearing Daesu's statement, Areum turned her whole body as she scanned for the CD that she saw earlier.

"Right there. We can use that as music." Areum pointed her index finger toward the CD that was pasted on the recording window.

"That thing? How do you know?" The plump boy curiously asked when Areum knew what the CD was.

"Umm...I come here whenever I don't feel like studying. Namra usually lends me the key to this room." Areum nervously chuckled as she told her friends.

"Ah, I see. With who? Suhyeok?" Daesu questioned the class vice president.

"Nope." Areum shook her head, making all of her friends, except for Suhyeok and Namra, glanced at the beauty in skeptical as they all assumed she went with Suhyeok, not expecting that she would go with another male student. A small smirk appeared on Suhyeok's face when he saw their expression.

"I usually go alone when I'm here." Areum explained further, frowning her eyebrows when she saw all of their shock faces. Once they listened to her explanation, the group of friends calmed their expressions after they made wrong assumptions toward the beauty.

Daesu cleared his throat as he walked near the mixer control counter and grabbed the pasted CD from the window. "This is ancient. Will it even work?" He asked.

***********

Placing the CD on the DVD player, Areum lightly pushed the lid to close and then walked to stand beside her close friend. Areum saw through the recording window as the group of friends huddled around Joonyeong, who was fixing the microphone stand. She also spotted her cousin staring at the class president.

When she made eye contact with her cousin, the black haired girl grinned and gave her cousin a teasing look after she caught him staring at Namra. Areum knew that her male cousin had a small crush on her close friends when he interrogated her with many questions about the class president during their family gathering. Wujin silently glared at Areum after getting teased by his cousin, which only made the girl silently laugh at his behavior.

Moving her gaze away from her cousin, the black haired girl watched Namra push some of the few buttons on the mixer audio console, in which one of the buttons of the mixer console had produced a loud frequency squeaking sound from the speaker. Namra quickly turned down the mixer console once she heard the loud squeaking. The class president nodded her head toward Areum, indicating the speakers were ready to use.

"Everything's good." Areum mouthed the words toward her friends as she gave an okay signal toward her friends inside the recording room. Both Suhyeok and Daesu nodded in understanding at her signal.

"Who wants to do it?" Both female students outside of the recording room could hear Joonyeong asking his friends.

"I've never done it before." Daesu uttered as every one of them looked at him in question.

"Somebody has to do it. Anyone?" Hyeryeong offered.

"I'll do it then." Daesu volunteered, leaning his body near the microphone. Joonyeong pointed to the plump boy as he mouthed the words that he would be the one who would talk to the two girls outside of the recording room. Both female students nodded their heads as they understood what the boy with glasses was trying to say.

"Uh, mic test. One, two. One, two. Cheongsan, are you there? We-" Daesu tested the microphone in front of him until Suhyeok interrupted him.

"What are you doing?" Suhyeok muttered. Areum then watched from the other side of the room as Suhyeok switched places with Daesu, so he could talk into the microphone. "Cheongsan, do you hear us? It's me Suhyeok. We'll come to you, so stay put. Got it?"

"I know what you'll say, but we can't hear you here." Suhyeok joked through the microphone. Areum chuckled at his joke after hearing it through the speaker. The class president, who was standing beside her, shook her head in delight when she saw Areum was laughing at the tall boy's joke.

While her friends were sending messages to Cheongsan through the speaker, Areum grabbed any necessary things that they could use when they went to the rooftop such as blankets and first aid kits from the cabinet. Spotting the yellow bag at the bottom of the cabinet, the black haired girl quickly grabbed it and placed all of the items inside the bag for them to bring to the rooftop.

"So, don't go anywhere. Wait for us. You really can't go anywhere, okay? We'll come now." Suhyeok continued. Once he finished talking, he looked at Namra through the window.

"All good." Namra mouthed as she gave an okay hand signal. Once she finished packing the bag, Areum joined Namra's side after placing the bag on top of the table.

"Anyway, let's get out of here. The smell of shit makes me want to hurl." Daesu complained as he furrowed his eyebrows in disgust.

"Dude, it's your shit." Wujin exclaimed as he stared at his best friend in disbelief.

"It's not just mine." The plump boy argued.

"Yes, it is." Wujin remarked as Hyeryeong nodded her head in agreement.

"Really?" Daesu questioned.

"Yes." Suhyeok replied. Hearing their small argument over the speaker, Areum rolled her eyes at their childish quarrel. She then decided to knock her knuckles against the recording window to stop their argument.

"They won't hear you knocking on the window. This is a soundproof glass window." Namra informed as she smiled when she saw Areum came to realisation. Luckily, the quarrel was over when Onjo switched places with Suhyeok and was ready to speak to Cheongsan through the microphone.

"Cheongsan-ah." Onjo called. " Please stay still. I know you never listen to me but please listen this time."

Once they send their messages to Cheongsan through the microphone, the group of friends exit the recording room and wait for Areum and Namra to prepare the music. Areum pushed the play button on the DVD player as Namra adjusted the buttons on the mixer audio console. Then, all of them waited for the speaker to produce some music.

"Why won't it work?" Suhyeok asked after not hearing any sound from the speaker.

"Isn't it useless, then?" Areum heard Wujin ask the sighing Daesu.

"That's right." Daesu sighed in defeat.

"Just give a second, guys. It'll work." Areum reassured as she stared at the DVD player. Just then, there was a sound coming out of the speaker.

"Prez, turn off the right and middle speakers." Onjo instructed. Namra then followed the girl's instruction as she pulled down the console button of the middle and right speakers.

"The sound's becoming distant." Wujin informed his friends after checking through the window for the zombies' growling at the school yard. Joonyeong on the other side of the room, tried to hear any noise outside of the school hallways.

"Uh-huh. I only hear their growling from the left." Joonyeong mentioned after inspecting the sound of the zombies on the hallways.

"They're going to the speakers." Wujin muttered after watching the zombies frantically go to the school yard speakers.

"Really?" Suhyeok asked as he glanced at Wujin.

"It worked." Wujin repeated as he went back to the group.

***********

When they were sure the zombies went to the left side of the building, Deasu carefully opened one of the papers from the small window of the sliding door. When he checked the hallways, Daesu saw the zombies were running toward the speakers on the left side of the building.

"Bare-su." Daesu called while putting the paper back on the small window. He turned his head at Suhyeok, who was on top of the cabinet, watching the zombies from windows on the top of the wall. "We're good to go." The plump boy whispered.

"Hold on." Suhyeok said in a low voice as he lowered his posture from the window.

"What? Why?" Daesu quietly asked, afraid to grab the attention of the zombies.

Suhyeok went to look through the top window to see a zombie with an orange cone was slowly passing their room. "Hey. There's one more." The tall boy mentioned in a hushed tone.

"Huh?" Daesu said in disbelief. The boy once again slowly tore down the paper from the small window and looked at the hallway for one zombie that was still there. The zombie with the orange cone was growling as it began to move forward to the speaker, slowly passing the broadcasting room.

Once the zombie was completely gone, Daesu closed the window with the paper and announced to his friends, "I'm going now."

Suhyeok nodded his head toward Daesu and then glanced toward Wujin who led the group of friends forward to the door. "Come on." Wujin whispered as he then went to help Daesu open the sliding door quietly.

Both of the boys quickly scanned at the left building of the school. When they heard the nearby thumping sound, they looked over at the source of sound. Seeing the male zombie banging its head against the wall, Daesu whimpered in fear as he quickly went back inside of the room.

"Fuck. Close the door." The plump boy cursed as sat in fear after seeing the zombie. Wujin quickly moved his leg from the doorway so he could close the sliding door and lock it.

"Fuck, I could've been killed. Idiot, you said it was clear." Daesu exaggerated whispered to Suhyeok.

"What? Why?" Suhyeok questioned as he was still kneeling on top of the small cabinet.

"There's one right outside." Daesu replied. The rest of the group friends heard what he said and they started to feel anxious as their escape plan did not go according to what they had planned. "Look for yourself." He instructed.

Suhyeok went to look for the zombie that his friend had seen through the window. After seeing the zombie banging its head against the school pillar, the tall boy silently went down from the cabinet and approached the two boys on the floor.

"What do we do?" Suhyeok asked for any suggestion from the two boys as he sat beside them.

"You think there's something wrong with him?" Daesu questioned as he talked about the male zombie outside the room.

"Not anymore than you." Wujin commented, sitting on the floor between his two friends.

"Rude as hell." The plump boy remarked as he glared at his best friend.

"Sorry." Wujin apologised as he averted his eyes away from the plump boy.

"Everyone else followed the sound but he's still out there by himself." Daesu said based on his observation.

"Maybe he's deaf?" Suhyeok proposed.

"Fuck. How could he hear when he's dead?" Wujin swore. From where she was standing, Areum watched the three boys discussing on the floor on how to get out without attracting the attention of the zombie outside in the hallway.

"What about the others? They all respond to sound." The plump boy mentioned.

"Shit. Damn it." Wujin swore as he kept the door slide closed.

"How do we get out?" Daesu rhetorically asked.

"Hold on. Let's wait a little bit." Suhyeok mentioned as he glanced over at his other friends on the other side of the room. "I'll look." He added as he stood up from the floor.

"Let's wait." Wujin announced to his waiting friends in front of him. Suhyeok quietly sneaked a peek at the male zombie as he opened the slide door a bit. Once he saw what the state of the zombie looked like, he closed the door shut.

"We can't wait any longer." The tall boy mentioned it to the two male students beside him. "Take the others and walk past him as carefully as possible. I'll do whatever I can from behind."

When he muttered out the sentences, Areum frowned her eyebrows and shook her head in disagreement. The black haired girl tried to argue with Suhyeok when Namra held her wrist preventing her from doing so.

Turning her gaze toward the class president, the beauty saw Namra silently plead through her eyes to not argue with the tall boy as the meditation speech that they were playing through the speakers was about to run out of its time.

"All right." Daesu sighed as Suhyeok turned to glance at Areum, who was staring at him in worry. The black haired girl shook her head in disagreement toward him as Suhyeok understood her small action and returned her with a soft smile as to reassure her that it would be fine,

"Let's go." Suhyeok informed as he continued to stare at Areum.

Once they were ready to leave the broadcasting room, Daesu was the first one who went out of the room quietly, leading his friends to the music room. One by one the group of friends silently followed the plump boy to the stairwell on the right side of the building.

Before following Namra outside, Areum glanced at the boy she likes as she whispered, "Please be careful. Don't do anything stupid."

Suhyeok nodded his head in understanding as he gestured his head for Areum to follow behind the class president. Obeying his instruction for once, Areum went to follow behind her close friend as she quietly passed behind the thumping zombie.

When all of his friends went out of the room, Suhyeok was the last person to follow his group of friends. Taking a cautious step, the tall boy eyes the zombie as it keeps thumping its head against the school wall.

Hearing the loud clang of a metal bottle from behind, all of them instantly froze in their movement as Wujin picked up the pink bottle from the floor that Joonyeong accidentally dropped. In a flash, all of them turned their heads to look at the male zombie to see if he could hear the loud clang of the metal bottle. The male zombie began to screech as it slowly turned its head toward the source of the sound.

"Run!" Suhyeok yelled as they began to run from the screeching zombie. The tall boy pushed the zombie when it came near his group of friends. While Suhyeok was fighting the zombie alone, Wujin clasped his cousin's wrist when he noticed Areum was slowing down when they had reached the stairwell.

"Let's go!" Wujin shouted as he dragged his cousin to the floor where Cheongsan was hiding in the music room. Areum was trying her best to keep up with her cousin's fast stride as they ran to the next floor of the building.

"Ah!" Areum heard someone yelped in pain. The black haired girl was quickly scanned for the person, only to see Namra had fallen after taking a misstep on the stairwell while she was running. Areum instantly went to help her close friend stand properly and asked her cousin to help the class president go to the music room.

"Wujin-ah. Take Namra to the music room now!" Areum claimed as she pushed her cousin to help Namra to where Cheongsan was hiding.

"Wh..What about you?" Namra asked her close friend as she felt Wujin wrapped his arms around her shoulder.

"I'm fine. You guys should go now. I'll follow you behind." Areum reassured as she pushed the two toward the stairs. "I just need to make sure Suhyeok's fine." She continued.

"Yah, Son Areum. Be careful, okay?" Wujin uttered as he helped Namra to the stairs.

"Okay, I will. Now go." The black haired girl insisted as she waited at the platform of the staircase for Suhyeok to appear.

***********

At the same time as his group of friends ran to the stairwell, Suhyeok had managed to kick the zombie on its chest, halting its movement from attacking them. Taking the opportunity, the tall boy makes his escape by running toward the steps of the stairs.

However, the zombie was able to catch him after the fall when the tall boy tried to reach another set of stairwells. The zombie was able to grab onto the tall boy's shoulder, making the two of them stumble on the floor.

Once he stood up from the floor, Suhyeok managed to dodge the zombie that was attacking him, which led the zombie to fall onto his face. Breathing heavily, Suhyeok moved away from the zombie, who quickly crawled backward to the tall boy in an inhumanly twisted body.

The boy in the school blazer tried to pass the crawling zombie as the flesh eating monster was able to grab onto his ankle, causing Suhyeok to stumble on top of the floor. Suhyeok quickly moved his body away from the hideous monster.

However, the zombie was able to get on top of his body and tried to attack the living boy. Seeing the male zombie begin to attack him, Suhyeok outreached his arms against the zombie in order to prevent from getting bitten. The zombie kept grunting as it held Suhyeok's face and blood started to smear onto the tall boy's face.

Suddenly a knife pierced through the zombie's neck making it growled before it had completely stopped its movement. The tall boy rapidly panted when he felt a splash of blood covering his face. When the zombie was no longer attacking, Suhyeok watched through his eyes that the blood from the dead zombie kept squirting from where the knife had pierced through its neck. Immediately, Suhyeok pushed the dead zombie away from him as he exhaled heavily after the nearly dead situation.

"You moron." Gwinam sighed as he looked down at the tall boy on the floor. "You let this loser get you?" The Yoon boy continued. When he saw the person who saved his life, Suhyeok quickly stood up from the floor as he continued to exhale heavily.

"Thank you." Suhyeok muttered as he stared at his former group of friends, Gwinam.

"Of course, I saved your ass. By the way, I'm looking for Cheongsan." Gwinam cockly stated.

"Cheongsan? Why do you ask him?" Suhyeok was puzzled with his question.

"I want to kill him." The mullet boy claimed in a serious tone.

"What are you talking about?" The tall boy asked in disbelief.

"I'm going to kill him." Gwinam repeated his answer. Suhyeok stared at the mullet boy as his black eyes shifted to the knife on his right hand and returned his eyes back to his face.

"You're badly hurt. Are you okay?" Suhyeok was trying to distract him by asking questions.

"I'm good. I'm so fucking great. So, where's Cheongsan?" Gwinam uttered in frustration, staring at the male student in front of him

"Stop it." Suhyeok sternly claimed, making the mullet boy instantly glared at him.

"You were always like that." Gwinam snickered. "That's right. 'Do this. Don't do that.' Always ordering me around." The mullet boy tried to mimic Suhyeok's tone of voice. Suhyeok kept glancing at the bloody knife on Gwinam's hand cautiously.

"It's okay though. You fought better than I did." The mullet boy muttered as he kept glaring at the tall boy in front of him. "But you can't do that anymore." He yelled as he tried to stab Suhyeok with the sharp knife. Luckily, Suhyeok dodged his body from the incoming knife.

When the mullet boy tried to attack him again, the tall boy avoided him as he pushed Gwinam to the wall, making Suhyeok fall backward against the stair railing. Seeing his former friend once again striking him, Suhyeok moved away from the knife, causing the mullet boy's hand to go through in between the railings. Taking this one opportunity, Suhyeok pushed his feet against the bully's wrist, making his hand lose its grip on the dangerous knife.

Suhyeok quickly stood as he clutched the back of the mullet boy's white jacket but Gwinam managed to push him down the stairs. The Lee boy groaned in pain when his body collided against the hard wall, not noticing how Gwinam could easily push him down toward the platform of the stairwell.

"You're nothing special." Gwinam retorted, walking down the stairwell while Suhyeok slowly rose and got up in pain. The bully boy kicked his leg in strong force as Suhyeok was able to move his body sideways. Then, Gwinam had managed to receive several punches from the tall boy when he failed to punch him, making the mullet boy stumble backward.

Quite skillful in his fighting skills, Suhyeok tried to kick the one-eye boy against his stomach as he wrapped his hands around the bully's neck but his fighting stanced failed to make the Yoon boy to fall from the impact. Instead, Gwinam punched his fist against Suhyeok's stomach in a hard force, making the Lee boy groan in pain as he stumbled a few feets away while holding his stomach.

Trying to prevent the bully from killing his close friend, Suhyeok kicked the mullet boy on the back of his knee, making the two boys fall on the platform of the stairwell. In a fast pace, Gwinam grabbed the Lee boy but Suhyeok managed to hold him in a head choked stance, making the mullet boy grunted in pain.

When the bully boy heard the crunching sound, he clutched the back of Suhyeok's school blazer and quickly threw the Lee boy over his body to the hard floor. Once he was free from the hard choke stance, Gwinam quickly kicked the tall boy's stomach, making Suhyeok groan in agony.

"You're scared? That's okay." Gwinam rhetorically asked as he kneeled beside the groaning boy. The bully boy then grasped Suhyeok's hair in order to make the boy look at him. "Yah. Aren't you scared?" The mullet boy continued as he laughed wickedly.

"You crazy asshole!" Suhyeok yelled as he tried to choke his throat. With the upper hand on his side, Gwinam pushed the tall boy against the hard floor and choked his throat to death as Suhyeok slowly ran out of his breath due to the strong grip.

***********

Areum was worriedly standing on the platform of the stairwell as the same floor of the music room, waiting for Suhyeok to appear. After a few minutes had passed, the black haired girl still could not see the tall boy's appearance. Being the thoughtful girl she is, Areum took a final glance toward where the rest of her friends ran off to. Following her instinct, Areum ran downstairs to look for Suhyeok.

"Wujin, Namra. I'm sorry but I need to find him." Areum mumbled to herself as she quickly ran down the stairwell. Running down the stairs while looking for Suhyeok, Areum heard some grunting and groaning one floor below her. The blacked haired girl immediately went to the source of sound, only to see the scene in front of her with gasp.

Both of her eyes widened in shock when she witnessed the boy she likes being choked to death by Yoon Gwinam, the school bully. Quickly searching around her surroundings for something to defend herself, Areum spotted a piece of a long wooden window frame on the floor. Picking up the wooden frame, the blacked haired girl quietly rushed down the stairs toward the two students and swung the wooden frame against Gwinam's back.

"Hey!" The beauty shouted as she swung the frame against the bully's back in full force, making it break the wooden frame into two pieces. From her view, Areum saw Gwinam released his hold against Suhyeok's throat, making the tall boy inhaled some oxygen after being choked for a while as the mullet boy slowly looked at her direction.

"Oh, it's you. Son Areum, I'm glad to see you alive." Gwinam wickedly smiled as he slowly stalked his way toward the girl. Tilting his head, the mullet boy saw Areum move away from him.

"Coming to save this loser? Why don't you leave him and come with me? I can protect you with all of these zombies." Gwinam offered as he finally managed to trap the beauty in between himself and the wall.

"I'd rather die than come with you. So, get lost." Areum glared at the mullet boy. Not liking the position she was in, the black haired girl punched his face, making the boy stumble a few feets from her. Suhyeok tried to ease his breathing as he tried to sit up when he saw Areum appear beside him and tried to help him.

"Suhyeok-ah. Are you okay?" Areum asked as she patted his back with her hand. With both of their backs facing Gwinam, the two students did not notice the Yoon boy had regained his balance after receiving a punch from the girl.

Tasting the blood on his mouth, Gwinam wiped the blood from his lip and chuckled in a dark manner when he saw the blood on his finger. He glared at the girl figure with cold piercing eyes. Few moments later, Gwinam strutted his way to the black haired girl and surprised her by pulling her black hair at the right side of her head.

Areum yelped in pain when she felt the hard tug on her hair. Following the force of the hand, Areum quickly stood up as she faced the angry one-eyed boy. When he heard Areum's yelped in pain, in a fast movement, Suhyeok grabbed Gwinam's arm, released his hand from the beauty's hair and twisted it behind his back while at the same time, Suhyeok pushed Areum away from the bully boy.

"Ack." Gwinam grunted as he then laughed maniacally at the tall boy behind him, who was holding his arm behind his back. "You're really good at this...but you're not strong enough." He announced, making Suhyeok listen in confusion.

Without any warning, Gwinam pushed his whole body backward against the wall as Suhyeok collided in between both of the mullet boy's body and the hard wall, making the Lee boy release his hold on Gwinam's arm. Once his arm was released, Gwinam quickly choked his throat and held him tightly as the tall boy's body slowly became unconscious due to loss of oxygen.

"Yah, let him go, you moron!" Areum shouted, running to the two boys as she repeatedly hit her fists at Gwinam's back. The one-eye boy removed his hand and punched Suhyeok's stomach before facing her. Hearing Suhyeok groaned in pain, Areum quickly passed Gwinam to help the boy she likes but the black haired girl was stopped when the Yoon boy once again clutched her hair on the right side of her head, pulling her in front of him.

"Ah, ah, ah. Where are you going? You're coming with me." Gwinam stated as he stared at her brown eyes, which were full of hatred.

"You still think I'm going with you, huh? After what you've done here?" Areum bravely chuckled at him with her cold expression. "Never. I'm not going with you at all. I'd rather die."

"What's so special about him, huh? What does he have that I don't have?" Gwinam shouted in anger as Areum watched over his shoulder that Suhyeok was groaning in pain on the ground.

"He's compassionate and selfless. That's what makes him special." Suhyeok heard Areum's replied as he tried to ease his pain on the floor.

"You'll wish you never said that to me. We'll see what happens when you become like me." Gwinam mumbled as he leaned closer to the beauty.

The Yoon boy instantly bit into her left shoulder, making the black haired girl scream in pain. Areum tried to push him away but the difference in physical appearance as well as the intense amount of pain had made it difficult for her to push the boy away. Hearing her scream, Suhyeok tried to stand up from the floor when suddenly he saw a blurred of black figure passing him.

Wujin emerged from running down the stairwell when he heard his cousin scream in pain. In a rush, Wujin past Suhyeok on the floor and pull Gwinam off his cousin by wrapping his arms around his neck. Not far behind him, Namra appeared and went to help Suhyeok from the floor.

Unknown to all of them, Gwinam had roughly pulled a flesh from Areum's shoulder after he roughly pushed the black haired girl to the wall under the window stairwell. The black haired girl loses consciousness after bumping her head against the hard wall.

Wujin managed to pull Gwinam away from his female cousin when suddenly the Yoon boy bent his upper body down and lifted Wujin over his body like Suhyeok earlier, making the boy in the green vest fall over the floor. The mullet boy then kicked him in the stomach, making the defenseless boy groan in pain. Few seconds later, Wujin could feel a hand tighten its grip around his neck, causing the young boy to face Gwinam.

"Who are you? Who are you to interfere with my problem here?" Gwinam asked as he glared at the uninvited boy.

Unable to breath due to the tight grip on his throat, Wujin tried to pry his finger away from his throat before losing his consciousness. From the corner of her eyes, Namra spotted Wujin was struggling to lose the bully's grip from his throat. The class president hurriedly leave Suhyeok's side and help the boy in the green vest.

Once she wrapped her left arm around the bully's neck, Namra pulled him away from Wujin, making the mullet boy release his grip on the boy who laid on the floor. Unknown to the class president, Yoon Gwinam did not hesitate to bite into her arm after being pulled away from the uninvited boy on the floor.

The sound of Namra's screams could be heard in the room as Areum had gained her consciousness after being roughly pushed to the hard wall. Areum quickly sat up against the wall behind her and gasped in pain when she felt the sting on her shoulder. The beauty was also able to avoid colliding with Namra's body. The black haired girl quickly went to aid her close friend after Namra was being pushed by the bully boy.

"You little shit head!" Gwinam cursed as he strode his way toward the two female students. Standing in front of them, the Yoon boy stared down at them with cold eyes.

"One is a busybody while the other is too arrogant for her own good." Gwinam commented as he glanced at Areum once he said his last comment. Feeling rejected by the beauty, Gwinam pulled her hair as she whimpered in pain.

"I said stop it!" Suhyeok yelled as he got up from the floor and charged toward the Yoon boy, pushing him out of the window. Both Areum and Namra covered their heads from the broken pieces of glass as Suhyeok pushed Gwinam out of the building in anger.

Watching the bully boy fall on the ground, Suhyeok sensed an appearance approaching beside him. He glanced his eyes beside him, seeing Wujin was breathing heavily after getting beaten by the mullet boy.

"Are you okay?" Suhyeok asked in concern when witnessing his friend get beaten by the Yoon boy when he was unable to help Wujin after also getting badly beaten by the one-eyed boy.

"I...I'm fine. Let's take the girls to the music room before the music on the speakers stops playing." Wujin mentioned, holding his stomach as he gazed at the two female students on the floor.

"Let's go." Suhyeok agreed. While Wujin went to help Namra, the tall boy quickly went to crouch in front of Areum, examining any injuries around her body. Spotting the biting mark on her left shoulder, Suhyeok faced Areum who was staring at the bite mark on her shoulder in fear. Staring at each other's eyes, they silently communicate through their eyes about the situation.

"Let's go." Suhyeok whispered as he faced the girl he liked. Helping her stand, Suhyeok wrapped his arms around her, making their way toward the music room. When the two male students guided the two female students, Suhyeok and Wujin made eye contact with each other and nodded their heads in understanding.

Arriving at the floor of the music room, the four students ran through the hallway in order to make their way to their destination. Glancing back at Areum, Suhyeok tightened their intertwined hands as he immediately spotted their group of friends running toward their direction. Seeing the group of zombies coming from the opposite direction, Suhyeok ushered them to go inside of the room.

"Go in! Go inside!" The tall boy shouted, waving his free hand toward the group of friends.

"They're coming!" Daesu yelled as he spotted the group of zombies growling and running toward their direction. Each of the students once again entered the music room.

"Hurry!" Suhyeok wrapped his arms around Areum, letting the black haired girl enter the room before himself. Able to avoid the incoming zombies, the tall boy quickly closed the sliding door.

"The curtains. Close it." One of the group friends instructed. Onjo, Jimin, Wujin and Joonyeong closed the red curtains before the zombies were able to see them through the windows while both Areum and Namra went to close the white curtains on the windows that overlooks the school yards. When Areum tried to close the curtains near the fallen piano, Cheongsan stopped her when he mentioned about the zombie below the piano.

"There's a zombie there. It's caught under a piano, so it can't go anywhere." Cheongsan informed the black haired girl as the thumping sound could be heard from the piano. Areum stared at the zombie under the piano before she joined Namra, who was sitting on the nearby chair.

Catching onto her breath, Areum could see through her vision that all of her friends were exhausted. The black haired girl also spotted Suhyeok was kneeling against the table as he was breathing heavily while her cousin was sitting on the edge of the table beside Suhyeok. Turning her focus on Namra, Areum went to check if she was okay after hearing her scream earlier.

"Namra-yah. Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Areum asked her close friend. Nodding her head, Namra turned her gaze to her close friend, seeing worry on her facial expression.

"I..I'm fine. Just hurts a little but I'm worried about you. Your shoulder is still bleeding." Namra uttered as she glanced toward Aruem's bleeding shoulder. Following where Namra's eyes were staring, Areum looked over at her bleeding shoulder.

"I'll be fine. Don't worry about it." Areum smiled when she glanced at the class president. The beauty was not entirely sure what would happen to her after receiving the bite mark from the bully boy.

"We can't make it..." Hyeryeong paused as she inhaled some air into her lungs. "To the rooftop, can we? We're trapped again, aren't we?"

"There are zombies outside, so..." Suhyeok breathed heavily as he stared at all of group friends. "Let's just think a little."

"This is so annoying." The short haired girl muttered, looking at Areum and Namra's direction. Spotting the bite marks on Areum's shoulder and Namra's forearm, Hyeryeong instantly stood from her seat as her eyes widened in fear looking at the two female students' bite marks.

"Hey." Hyeryeong voiced, making Suhyeok and Wujin glanced at the short haired girl.

"Hey, Areum, Namra." Both Areum and Namra looked at the girl when they heard Hyeryeong called their name.

"Were you guys bit? That's a bite mark, right?" Hyeryeong asked as she stepped away from them. The rest of the students caught the short haired girl's questions as they all looked at Areum and Namra's direction in fear and shock.

Both Suhyeok and Wujin watched the two girls from where they were as they looked over their bite wounds while the rest of their friends stepped away from the class president and vice president.
