~ 5 : Eddie ~

a/n: recommended song- girls just wanna have fun by cindy lauper

The radio hums with the sound of classic eighties songs that the losers all listen to when they hang out.

"Hey, Eds," Richie calls out. "Pass me the snacks, would you."

"First of all," Eddie starts. "Don't call me that. Second of all, ask nicely."

"Oh, please, Sir Eddie." Richie dramatically pleads in a British accent. "May you pass the chips?"

"You're so fucking annoying!" Eddie threw the chips at Richie.

"Thanks, Eddie Spaghetti." Richie said with a big stupid grin on his face.

Eddie just rolled his eyes and turned away to hide his blush. Those stupid nicknames will be the death of me, he thought. He looked down at his watch that read 4:35. "Oh, shit! I have to get home. Bye, guys."

"Wait, Eddie," Richie said, running to catch up with him. "I'll take you home?"

"Yeah, okay." Eddie said, a little flustered. Keep it together, Eddie. He said to himself. He's your best friend, he's just being nice.

Richie smiled and pushed his glasses farther up on his nose. "Onward!" They biked to Eddie's house making sure that they would make it on time. Eddie glanced over and saw Richie with his hair whipping around in the wind. He was staring for so long he didn't even notice when they reached his house.

Eddie put his bike in the garage with Richie following not too far behind. Then they went back up the steps to the front door when Eddie opened it.

"Hey, I was thinking-" Richie started to say before Eddie cut him off.

"Well, that's a first." He said with a mischievous smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"Fuck you," Richie glared but continue on with what he was saying before. "I was wondering if you wanted to sleepover tomorrow night at my house. My dad is on another one of his 'business trips' and my mom will most likely be passed out on the couch."

"Yeah, that would be good." Eddie said, trying not to sound too excited. After all this was there one hundredth sleepover it felt like. "I'll have to ask my mom first, though."

"Okay. If you can come, be there at six o' clock-"

"Sharp. Yeah, yeah, I know. I'll be there. You should probably go, Rich. My mom will be home in five minutes." Eddie actually didn't want Richie to leave, but he didn't want to get in trouble by his mom either.

"You're right." Richie turned around and walked down the steps and grabbed his bike. "Adios, Eduardo!"

Eddie rolled his eyes and shut his front door. He quickly ran to his room and took a shower so he wouldn't smell of Quarry water. When he got out, he heard a knock on the door and ran to see who it was. Hoping it was Richie, Eddie became disappointed when it was his mom. Disappointed? He thought.
