Chloe's POV
Ever since I was little, Christmas was my favorite time of the year. So I decided to make myself some hot chocolate, and watch the new Christmas movie on Netflix, The Princess Switch. Just as I'm bout to began, my phone lights up Mom. I pick up the phone and place it far enough so my mom can see my whole upper body. Hi sweetie, how's California? I smile, It's fine, but boy do I miss your face. She smiles back, I called to tell you what's happening right now in New York without you. She flips the phone and shows the window, it's snowing back home. First snow fall of the year is it? She nods. Boy I miss the snow, hopefully I can come visit you soon. How's papa doing? Any better? Her smile quickly fades from her lips. I'm afraid not, the chemo he calms isn't doing anything but killing him more. Her eyes start to water, It's alright mama, he'll get better soon. We just need to be patient. Before she could sign anything else my little sister Amaya hops in the camera. Hi Chloe, I miss you. I smile, I miss you too brat, I'll be home for the holidays this year. Count the days for me? Her smile is so bright. Mama and I says our goodbyes, I lay my phone back down on the table and sign. The light above my door starts flashing. Someone's here? I head over to my door and look out the peep hole. David's standing there, in his, pajamas? I unlock the door and open it, his eyes a little red and so is his nose. I put my hand on his cheek, I take his hand and pull him inside. After closing the door, I turn around, What happened? He sits on the couch, and looks up. Liza and are got into a fight. I sit next to him, About? He shakes his head. David, i'm here for you, you can tell me. He shakes his head again. I silently put my head down, and lay my hand on his shoulder. He taps me, You watching Christmas movies? In only November. I smile a little, Well, right now where I use to live it's snowing. So I drink hot chocolate and watch Christmas movies when I'm missing home. He looks at my cup, can I have some H O T C H O- I cut him off before he finishes finger spelling it. I show him the sign, Hot chocolate, and yes you may. I'll be right back. I get up, press play of the movie, and head off to make another hot chocolate. 5 minutes later, I come back with David's hot chocolate and hand it to him. Thank you. He takes the drink and begins to blow on it. You're welcome. I plop back down on the couch, and grab my blanket. Laying it over both David and I. Is this movie new? David asks, Yeah it um, came out 2 days ago I think. He nod and goes back to the movie. By the end I'm teary eyed, and I look over to see David asleep. I smile, and slowly rise up, David grabs my wrists, and looks up at me with sleepy doe eyes. Stay with me, just for tonight. I smiled and sit back down, laying my head and hands on David's chest. He wraps both his arms around me. He traces shapes on my back, and his chest vibrates. I look up at him, Did you say something? I looked at him probably with sleepy eyes, No, nothing you need to hear yet. I smile and laugh a little, What? He asks, David, I'm deaf, I won't hear it at all. He shakes his head, smiling. You know what I meant. I lay my head back on his chest. I feel his chest moving slowly up and down as he breaths. Closing me eyes, I soon fall asleep there.
