Chloe falls asleep and so I let go of her hand and go to get something to eat since I've been here since 3 AM and it's now 8 AM. While I'm out I go and check on Liza and Kristen who were in the same room. Their faces light up when the see me with relief and with worry. "Hey, hows Chloe?" Liza asks, "She okay, nothing major, oh, other than she can hear again." Both their eyes got bigger in shock. "What? Like hear hear?" I nod. "How is that even-" Liza tries to say before Kristen cuts her off. "Of course! Liza remember that movie we watched, about the girl who fell out of the 50 ft tree and she was fine. It's a miracle." "But in this case you know, instead of being just being fine, she got a whole sense back. That doesn't seem weird to you?" "Well yeah, but I'm just glad she's okay. How'd she seem after hearing?" I prop myself up against the wall, "I mean at first she didn't even really realize she was hearing anything. I asked if she was okay and she had eye contact the whole time and nodded her head. At first I though she was reading my lips, but after I asked her, the doctor said something and she turned her head to look at him. Like instantly. Which made me wonder. So I said her name, and she looked back at me again. That's when we both realized. She also spoke, a lot no thanks to that doctor." I finish. "Well is speaking gonna be hard for her, like she told us she wasn't always deaf," Kristen pointed out. "Yeah that's the thing, she spoke so effortlessly, but of course it's been what 14-15 years since she has spoken. Her voice was soft and a little quiet. We just need to give her time." They nodded in agreement. "So until she's comfortable enough, I think we should try to talk low, her sense I would imagine is SENSE-itive." Liza chuckles and the pun automatically causes Kristen to giggle as well as I. "If you guys want you cane see her, I'm gonna go check on her, talk to you guys later." They wave as I exit the room. Suddenly something attacks my legs, and I look down to see Amaya hugging them. I pick her up and swing her around, "Mayyyaaa!" I say cheerfully, "Avidddd!" She giggles. Since I took the A off of Amaya, she took the D off of David and honestly it's the cutest thing. Chloe's mom follows behind Amaya and hugs me. "How are you doing Sara? When did you get in?" She shrugs, "Maybe 15-20 minutes ago. How is she, can I see her?" "Yeah but, there's something you need to know before seeing Chloe." I explain the whole situation to her and she's speechless, but she nods every so often to let me know she's still listening. I walk over to Chloe's door with Amaya still in my arms and Chloe's mom behind me. As I open the door her head, looks in our direction and a smile appears on her face. "Hey," Chloe says still a little weakly, but stronger than before. I put Amaya down and she runs over to the side of Chloe's bed as well as Chloe's mom. "You can hear me now?" Amaya asks, and Chloe smiles and nods. All 3 girls hug one another and it was a really amazing sight to see, so I took out my phone and snapped a photo. As they continue to talk to one another, I stared at the picture and then looked up at Chloe. Her eyes met mine and she smiled, and I knew then. This is a new beginning.
