Chapter Six

Lydia walked to the kitchen the following morning, Echo on her heels. However, upon entering the designated room of her desires, she was not expecting to see her uncle Blake in there. She huffed a bit before stepping around him and got some dog food to feed her puppy friend. As she poured the dog food into the bowl, Blake leaned against the counter next to her.

"Can I help you with something, uncle?" she asked, trying to keep her tone even.

"Yeah, I was told you were planning to head to the store later on today. I was gonna ask if you wanted me to come with you?" Blake offered. Lydia stood up straight after she set the dog bowl down and shook her head.

"No, I got it. I was already planning on asking Jack if he wanted to come. And besides, I promised him that he can come with me a lot on the supply and food runs."

Blake was about to protest, but decided against it, seeing as his niece was trusting that demon guy. He shook his head. "Yeah, whatever," he muttered, and left the kitchen. Lydia rolled her eyes and got herself some breakfast.

Blake sat down in the library at the table, pulling out his phone. He went into the phone's gallery, and looked at all the pictures of his niece that they took together before the big falling out they had.

He was so focused, he didn't notice anybody enter the room.

"You know, you ought to be lucky I'm not some bad guy, because you're too focused on your phone to realize your surroundings..."

Startled, Blake looked up, scowling when he saw it was only Jack. "What the hell do you want, Demon!?" he hissed quietly, not wanting to be too loud for Lydia to hear.

Jack huffed. "First, name's Jack. Don't know how many times I have to tell you that. Second, I just wanted to ask you a damn question. Third, you do realize name-calling isn't going to get you anywhere, right?"

"Don't care what you want to call yourself. You know as well as I do that you're a demon. Now, ask your question and get the f*** out of this library."

Jack came over to stand on the opposite side of the table right across from him. He leaned against it, his hands face-down on the table in front of him. "Well, my question to you is, do you really believe Lydia truly forgave you?" he asked, a slight hiss in his voice.

"What do you mean?" Blake answered in a question of his own.

"I mean, do you realize the only reason why she called you that night was because she had no where else to go? No one else to turn to? If she did, she wouldn't have called you."

"She would and you know it!" Blake protested.

"Know what? About your betrayal, which lead to your - hmm, what did she call it? - big falling out? Does the Winchester boys know about it? Oooh, I sure as hell wouldn't wanna be here when they found out the truth behind that huge argument that made your dear niece run away," Jack taunted, stepping away when Blake moved to grab him from across the table. Jack merely rolled his eyes and turned to leave the room. He stopped at the door and looked over his shoulder. "Ask her yourself. She's in her room. And really listen to her, she might not be exactly truthful. You know her - er, well you should - she would want to protect your feelings, considering you're supposedly her family," he spat before disappearing into the power lines.

Blake hadn't seen his niece for the rest of the day. He knew he should've talked to her before she left with Jack to the store, but he didn't think much of what Jack had said. After all, to him, all demons are liars. So who's to say that Jack was truthful. But after a while, the thought that he might be telling the truth kept eating at his mind. Making him unable to concentrate on anything. But when he asked Dean or Sam why it was taking Lydia to take so long to get back, they shrugged it off, saying that she usually does take all day to go on a supply run. Sam stated out a fact that she likes to make sure they have a lot to sustain them for a while, even with the quick food runs the boys make once in a while. Blake had no choice but to wait for his niece to return home...

Slam!!

The door slamming open echoed throughout the war-room, and the three occupants that were currently in said room started at the noise. Sam glanced up to see a beaten and worn Jack struggling to climb down the stairs. Quickly, he and his brother went over to help Jack to a chair.

"What the hell happened, Jack?" Dean asked. "And where's Lydia?!"

"S-She's taken..." he got out through gritted teeth. "We...we were ambushed at the store. We didn't- dude, watch those fingers! - we didn't have time to fight back. I was beaten and knocked out. When I woke up, she was gone!"

"Why didn't you call us?" Blake growled.

"Oh gee, we were knocked down. We don't have invulnerable phones, dumbass! Her's was damaged more than mine was, but mine still wouldn't make any calls, and I tried like 20 times. They even trashed her truck.."

Sam glanced at the time and nearly choked on his air. He realized that they were 5 hours late. It was around 9 in the evening. He left to quickly get the first aid.

"Did you see any attackers before you got knocked unconscious?" Dean asked.

"No, was too focused on tryin' to get to Lyd," Jack answered, his eyes closing in pain.

Blake huffed angrily. He would say something, but he wasn't sure how Dean would react. He and Sam have been there for Lydia when he wasn't. It's 100% guaranteed that she's family to them. So, instead, he just left the room, fully aware of the demon's eyes glaring after him.

A/N - Yayyy I finally got this part out!! :D I am really sorry it's this late! I actually rewrote this part too, because I realized what I had written wasn't really all that good so I was like 'no, with it being this late, it deserves to be a bit better written'. So hopefully I've accomplished that :)

And ooooh boy, someone's upset. The only problem is, the Winchester boys don't know the full story as to the big blow out between Lydia and her uncle. At least Jack hasn't said anything about it.

Also, side note, I realize that in Season 13 (SPOILER ALERT IF YOU NOT IN 13) that there is a nephilim named Jack and I'm sitting here in this story like 'well damn..well hopefully people won't get confused...'

~~

For any new people reading this story, no I do not have Jack the Nephilim in this story. The Jack in this story is totally unrelated to that character. He is a demon/entity/human. I believe the explanation is in around chapters 3-4.
