hello everyone! here is another Cedric oneshot! in this one you are American ;) Enjoy! 

You were walking into Hogwarts for the first time wondering how much bigger it could get, you had just been sorted in Dumbledores office since you had been transfered mid year. As you walked to the Huffelpuff common room-or tried to find it rather-a boy came up to you, he looked about 15 or 16. 

"Hello! i'm Cedric Diggory. i'm not sure i've met you yet. What's your name?" he said in his kind British accent.

"I'm Y/n, nice to meet you too I just transfered here from a school in America!" you said "what house are you in?" you asked.

"I'm in Huffelpuff." he says with a smile.

"Oooh! I'm in Huffelpuff too!" you said "Could you point me in the direction of the common room? I'm a little lost" you admitted 

"That's great to hear! I'm always happy to meet fellow Hufflepuffs. We have a strong sense of community in our house. And yes, I can point you in the direction." he says. 

-----Time skip brought to you by the Marauders (a month later)--------------------------------------

One day you find him sitting on a bench in the courtyard and you go over to talk to him. You two chat for a while, and Cedric notices how easy it is to talk to you. He compliments your style and asks about your interests, while also sharing some of his own. 

"So what brings you here today?" he asks curiously.

"Well since you're the quidditch captain, I was wondering if I could be on your team, i'm a fifth year just like you!" you said looking hopeful

"Of course, I would love to have you on the team! We always welcome new talent. However, before we can officially add you to the roster, we need to have a tryout. Are you up for it?" he asks with a smile.

"Oh yes! I can do it! I have been practicing for ages!" you said exidedly "I can play really well!" Cedric looked at you with amusement.

"Alright," he said "you can try out tomorrow"

"Great!" you said 

"I'm excited to see what you can do. We'll meet at the quidditch pitch tomorrow at 11am sharp. Make sure to bring your broomstick and wear comfortable clothes that you can move in." he says with a smile.

As your conversation comes to an end, Cedric couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement about having a new teammate on the Hufflepuff quidditch team. He makes a mental note to prepare for your tryout by practicing his own skills and strategizing with his team.

"Well Y/n, it was lovely chatting with you. I hope we can talk again soon." he says as he gives you one last warm smile before heading off. 

"Oh yes, goodbye!" you stared at him for a long time when one of your friends came up to you 

"Y/n what are you staring at?" she asked 

 "Oh nothing!" you said quickly blushing 

 "Was it a boy?" she asked 

 "No! well...yes alright it was Cedric diggory!" you said blushing more

"Oh really? He seems like a nice guy." she says with a smile.

"Yeah, he is, I have quidditch practice tomorrow see you!" you said and skipped off to your room 

  The next day Cedric meets up with you at the quidditch pitch for your tryout. He is wearing his Hufflepuff robes and carrying his Nimbus 2001. 

"Good morning Y/n! Are you ready to show us what you can do?" he asks with a smile.

"Oh, yes!" you say

"Alright, let's get started then. We'll begin with some basic drills to test your skills. First up, we'll practice catching the quaffle." He says as he tosses a quaffle ball towards you.

You and Cedric spend the next few hours practicing various quidditch skills like chasing, dodging, and throwing bludgers. As the tryout comes to an end, Cedric looks at you with a smile.

"Wow Y/n! You're really talented! I'm impressed by your skills and speed on the broomstick. We would be lucky to have you on our team." he says sincerely.

"Really?" you say

"Yes, really. You have a lot of potential and I can tell you're passionate about quidditch. We'll have to discuss this with the rest of the team, but I have a good feeling that we'll be able to welcome you onto the Hufflepuff quidditch team soon." he says with a smile.

Cedric's words make your day, and you feel grateful for his encouragement. You thank him for the opportunity and promise to continue practicing hard. At the end of the tryouts Cedric stands up to say,

"Alright everyone, that's it for today. Great job Y/n! We'll be in touch soon about the next practice session." Cedric says as he dismisses the team. As everyone is leaving you stay to try to talk to him your nervous because you want to tell him how much you like him after all you have been at the school for a month. Cedric notices that you're still there and approaches you. 

"Is everything alright, Y/n? Do you need any help with anything?" he asks kindly.

"Umm, I-no i'll just go" you stutter and start to the door but Cedric notices and stops you

"Wait, Y/n. Is there something you want to talk to me about?" Cedric asks with a concerned look on his face. You look at him, blushing that he cared about you.

"It's okay, Y/n. You can tell me anything." Cedric says with a gentle smile.

"Well, please don't hate me for saying this but...i-i-i like you Cedric as more then just friends" you say suddenly

Cedric looks surprised at first, but then his expression softens.

"Y/n, I appreciate your honesty. But as much as I like you too, can I think about this first? We can talk more about this later." he says with a kind smile.

You feel a bit disappointed by Cedric's response, but you understand where he's coming from. You thank him for being understanding and head back to your common room. 

The next day you get an owl from someone that says

*Yes*

you have a big smile on your face as you know its Cedric saying he likes you too! Your eyes light up in excitement and you can't wait to meet him after class. 

so how was this? I love quidditch I just have to say, its so fun I wish we could actually play it! well, love ya'll! byeee!
