Tobin's POV:

It's now about one in the morning and my phone rings so I look and see it's Mal.

"Hey, Mal".

"Hey Tobs I'm about to land soon".

"Okay, I'll set off now".

"Thank you. How is she"?

"Well, we're back in the waiting room as she's had to go back into surgery".

"Oh. Okay. I'll see you soon".

"Bye Mal". I hung up and Sinc smiled gently at me so I smiled back.

"You okay to drive"? She asked making me question if I could.

I dropped my head and slowly shook it in defeat.

Sinc rubbed my back. "I'll go get her". I smiled at her then she left. I made sure to message Mal letting her know Sinc was coming for her and not me.

Looking down at Hailey in my lap I see that she's still asleep in my arms and looking at her I slowly drift off into sleep once again.

Three hours later:

"Tobs wake up". I'm gently awoken to see Sinc.

I looked around since Hailey wasn't on my lap anymore and instead, she and Mal were sat next to each other and were leaning on each other. They were both spaced out staring at the wall.

Sinc was sat next to me and Dr Murphy was in front of me with a small smile on her face.

I wasted no time in my questioning. "How is she"?

"She's stable now. Unfortunately, when patching her up we missed a very small opening which led her to bleed which caused the episode but we've fixed it and made sure there was nothing else we missed. Apologies for that".

I smiled at her.

"Can we go and see her"? Sinc questioned.

Dr murphy nodded. "Just be careful with her and try to be quiet so you don't wake her as she needs as much rest as possible".

We nodded and she left. Sinc and I broke the two girls from their trances and we led them to Makayla's room.

When we walked in I wasn't overwhelmed like last time as the number of wires had decreased but still the sight of the blanket dip where her legs should be still hit me hard.

Mal took a sharp breath so I pulled her into me as she cried.

Four hours later: Makayla's POV:

I slowly felt pain everywhere in my body and I try and open my eyes but can't.

The pain increases a lot all over and I slowly manage to open my eyes the slightest bit.

"Mk"? I try to turn to where I heard the voice but couldn't so I put all my strength in and moved my finger off the bed ever so slightly before it dropped back down.

Another voice spoke.  "I'll get Dr Murphy". Then there was footsteps and the sound of a door opening and closing.

Once again I tried opening my eyes but this time I managed to open them more. They were open but they were really heavy.

I looked to my left without moving my head and I could see Mama sat next to me. Then I looked to the bottom of the bed to see a girl sat on the chair with her head on the bed. Hailey was the same but on the other side of the bed.

I looked back to Mama and she was crying but also had a small smile on her face.

The door opened and Sinc and I'm guessing the doctor walked in. Hailey and Mal were woken up.

"Ahhh Makayla you're awake. I'm Dr Casey Murphy  I will be your doctor throughout your recovery here and I also performed your surgery. Are you able to move at all"? Once again I tried but only managed to move my finger for a few seconds.

"Okay, I'm going to ask you some questions. I want you to move your finger for yes and stay still for no. Okay?" I lifted my finger.

"Okay good. First are you in a lot of pain"?  raised my finger.

"Okay is the pain everywhere"? Once again I raised my finger.

"Okay, I'll give you some pain relief in a minute. Do you remember what happened?" I tried to remember but couldn't so I stayed still.

"Okay that's normal. You were in a car crash".

Suddenly It all came back to me. The Driving and recording and then the darkness.

"Have you remembered"? I raised my finger.

Do you know who these four people in this room are"? I didn't move.

"Do you know any of them"? I raised my finger.

"If I point to them can you raise your finger to the ones you know"? I raised my finger.

Dr Murphy pointed at Sinc first. "Do you know her"? I raised my finger. Then she pointed at Hailey and I raised my finger. Then she pointed at the girl and I stayed still. I don't know who she is but she immediately started crying and walked out of the room. Then Dr Murphy pointed to Mama and I raised my finger.

"I'll go talk to her". Sinc said and left after the girl.

The doctor grabbed a water bottle. "Take a drink of this and see if you can talk okay"? I raised my finger.

Dr Murphy tilted the bottle for me and I managed to drink some of the water. I didn't know how thirsty I was and I ended up nearly drinking the whole bottle.

I tried talking but all that came out was a croaky and muffled noise

"It's okay keep trying".

I tried again. "H-H-H-H-H-H-I".

"There you go. Try again. Take it slow".

"Hi". I finally managed to speak normally.

"That's it. Right, I'm just going to get you some pain relief. Try to make slow movements and try not to talk too much okay"? 

"Yeah". With that Dr Murphy left.

"Mama"? Mama looked at me.

"Yeah"?

"Who's the girl that left"?

Mama looked like she was contemplating what to say. "That's Mal". I tried remembering her but couldn't. "Who is she to me"? Mama looked down. "You two have had a crush on each other since you met and you had some bad moments but you recently overcame them and you finally got together". A tear ran down my face. "She's my girlfriend"? Mama nodded.

"Why can't I remember her"? Mama held my hand. "I don't know princess but you did get in a car accident don't forget. You will remember her. You just need to recover okay. Just focus on getting better first". I nodded and Mama wiped the tears that ran down my face. Even though I don't remember Mal I still feel bad for not remembering her.

Dr Murphy came back not long later and she told me she was going to give me some very strong pain relief.

"What are you giving her"? Mama asked curiously.

"Morphine". Dr Murphy said as she injected it into my IV.

"It's very strong and she will be very tired and will fall asleep. Which is what she needs considering she woke up quicker than we would have liked her to". Mama nodded.

Curious I asked, "How long will It take"?

"You tell me"? Dr Murphy asked while smiling.

Suddenly I was hit with tiredness subduing my body. "Oh" Was all I could say before falling asleep.

Tobin's POV:

I watched as MK fell asleep. "Thank you". I said to Dr Murphy, she smiled at me and walked out.

Sinc walked in with a still crying Mal so I stood up and opened my arms which she immediately walked into.

I wrapped my arms around her as she continued to cry so I sat back down on my chair and sat her on my knee where she cuddled into my chest and continued to cry.

"Is she okay"? Sinc asked looking at Mk.

"Yeah, the doctor just gave her some morphine so she's sleeping now".

"Okay good, While we were out there I got in touch with your national teammates and they are all on their way".

"All of them"?

"Yeah. I rang the group chat from Mal'a phone. They all answered and when I told them what happened they all said they were on the way here. Sinc said with a soft smile.

"Wow".

"Yeah, everyone cares about her so much".

"It's because she's amazing and she's fought through everything that's come her way". Mal mumbles and lifts her head and looks at Makayla.

"Tobs"? Mal looks at me. "Yeah".

"Do you think I could lay next to her"? I looked at Sinc who shrugged. I looked back at Mal who looked at me pleadingly. "Okay but be careful okay".

Mal hugged me and smiled before she got up and laid next to Makayla. Mal put her head on Makayla's chest. Surprisingly, Mk wrapped her arms around Mal and pulled her closer to her.

Sinc and I looked at each other in shock. Mal then relaxed and she fell asleep in Mk's arms.

Hailey who had been quiet the whole time stood up and came and sat on my lap. She got her phone out and was typing a lot.

"You okay princess"? Hailey nodded.

"You messaging Dylan"? Hailey blushed giving me her answer.

"Is it okay if Dylan comes"? Hiley whispered.

"Of course she can". Hailey smiled at me then continued messaging Dylan.

Dr Murphy knocked on the door and peeked her head in. "Hey just checking everything's okay"?

Sinc and I nodded. Dr Murphy looked at Mal and Makayla, "Are they okay to be like that"? Sinc asked.

"She should be fine. Plus It looks like she wants her there anyway". We smiled at her.

"Oh also the police are here. We've kept them away as long as possible to give you some time with her but they need to talk to you".

I nodded. I'll go talk to them now". Hailey got up and sat on Sinc's lap while I left to talk to the police
