Makayla's POV:

Mal and I walked out of the hotel and I suggested that we go to a cafe to get a drink then go to a nearby park.

So we did. We found a small cafe and got some drinks to go then we headed for the closest park we could find.

We walked in silence pretty much the whole time until we got to the park and found a bench to sit at.

"So what did you want to talk about"? Mal spoke softly as she looked ahead at some kids playing football. (AN: I know it's soccer to most of you but I'm from England and I call it Football)

I faced Mal and smiled softly at her. "Us".

Mal looked at me with a sad smile and she looked down.

I placed my hand on her cheek. "Mal look at me please".

Mal took a deep breath then looked at me.

"Look, You hurt me a lot Mal but after knowing the real reason why you did. I know you had no choice and I'm not mad anymore". She smiled softly at me.

"It was always you Mal, I just never knew it then. I've always loved you more".

"It wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Dansby showed up and I couldn't do anything. If you chose me then before you were taken he still would have shown up and then it would have hurt you way more".

"Yeah maybe, but Mal that was the past and I'm done with the past. I want to work on my future. The decisions I make now affect my future, not my past. The truth is Mal it was you then and it's still you now. It's always been you, Mal".

Mal's eyes met mine and I could see the tears quickly forming. She swallowed and took a shaky breath. "Really"?

I smiled at her "Yes Mal, I love you".

Mal smiled "I love you too Kayla".

We smiled and then we hugged and everything melted away. Every worry, panic and anger just disappeared.

We pulled away slightly and I couldn't help but look into her beautiful brown eyes. I saw her doing the same but she glanced down to my lips then back to my eyes.

We leaned in and our lips met for a sweet and passionate kiss and once again I melted to her touch. Mal placed her hand on my cheek and pulled me in closer.

Running out of air made us pull away leaving us sat there smiling.

"You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that".

"Trust me, Mal, I do". I leaned in again for a soft and quick kiss.

We pulled away and I leaned my head on Mal's shoulder and she wrapped her arm's around me pulling me close. 

"Kayla"?

"Hmmm".

Mal turned her head slightly. "I know it's early but what are we exactly? What do you want us to be"?

I climbed onto Mal's lap and wrapped my legs around her and Mal placed her hands on my waist. I looked directly into her eyes. "I love you, Mal, No one else, only you. I want to be with you. We can be whatever you want us to be".

Mal smiled. "How about we go on a date then go from there"?

"I like the sound of that". Once again we shared a quick kiss.

We stayed at the park just sat there in each other's arms talking about anything for about twenty minutes.

My phone started ringing and when I looked I saw it was Mama who was ringing me. I answered it and put the phone on speaker.

"Hey, Mama What's up"?

"Hey Mk, Is everything okay"?

"Yeah, everything's perfect".

"Okay good. Also, you need to come back or you'll both be late for team dinner.

"Wow. How long have we been out for"?

"About forty minutes".

"Okay, we'll head back now".

"Good, Also we need to talk later. Nothing bad I promise".

"Okay, Mama we'll see you soon".

I hang up the phone and stand up. Mal stands up after me and holds her hand out and smiles at me.

I hold her hand and smile back at her as we make our way back to the hotel.

Five minutes later we arrive at the hotel and we removed our hands as we didn't want the team knowing about us until we were official.

We went straight into the dining hall and saw we were the last ones there so we both found a spare seat. Mal went and sat next to Rose and Emily and I went to the other side of the room where Mama was so I sat in between Mama and Hailey.

Hailey hugged me as soon as I sat down.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, that nap helped me".

"Good, I'm glad you're feeling okay".

"Yeah. Did Mama tell you we need to talk later"?

"Yeah, she did. Do you know why"?

"No. I was going to ask if you knew"?

"No, I don't know either".

"I guess we'll find out later".

I nodded and we ate our food and talked and laughed at our table.

Once we finished eating we went back to our room.

Mama got us to sit on to bed and her and Christen were on the other bed so we were all facing each other.

"Okay, so we all need to talk"...
