Makayla's POV:

Sitting on a bed with Ash and Ali on either side of me and Kelley on the bed across from me

Fun!

NOT!

I was just waiting for one of them to speak first.

Finally, Ash does. "Why haven't you asked Mal out yet? It's clear you both like each other".

I took a deep breath. "Because I'm scared".

Ali placed her hand on my knee. "What are you scared of"?

"I'm scared because she's badly hurt me before and how do I know she won't do it again. I don't want to get hurt like that again".

Kelley knelt on the floor in front of me "That's normal to be scared but if you let the fear win then you won't get the chance to actually be with her. You just have to go for it and risk it as you never know what could happen".

I smiled at Kelley "Yeah you're right thank you guys".

They all brought me in for a group hug. Ash held onto me for the longest. "If you ever need someone to talk to you can always come to us and don't forget Tobin is your Mama and she loves you and cares about you so much".

"I know it's just Hailey needs her right now".

"I know it feels like that but Tobin loves both of you and she's there for both of you. I think you should go back to them and talk to them about everything". Ali says with her hand on my shoulder.

"What about skateboarding"?

"Go and we'll go another time". Ash says smiling at me.

I stand up and hug them all again and leave and head back to my room.

Using my key card I unlock the door and walk-in. I look in my room to see Christen and Hailey laid on one bed asleep and Mama laid on my bed awake watching tv.

Mama looks at me and smiles and pats beside her.

I shut the door quietly and take my shoes off and lay on the bed next to Mama. She wraps her arms around me and I cuddle into her.

"Why are you not out with Ash and Kelley"? She whispers.

I tell her everything that happened with Kelley and then with Mal and the talk with Ash, Ali and Kelley

"Okay so first I am always here to talk. Even if Hailey is going through something I can help both of you okay? We can lay in bed eat some junk and watch shows and movies. I am here for the both of you okay. Not one more than the other".

"Okay and I'm sorry Mama".  I cuddle more into her.

"Hey, you don't have to be sorry about anything MK. Also, do you want to talk about Mal?"

"I don't know what to say".

"Tell me anything and everything you want to say".

"Okay so I really like her but I'm scared of getting hurt by her again".

"Yeah I understand that but just think about why she had no choice but to hurt you".

"Yeah, I know Mama. Do you think I should talk to her"?

"If you want to then yeah I think you should".

"Okay, I'll call her". I grabbed my phone from my pocket and rang Mal.

"Kayla"?

"Hey, Mal".

"What's up"?

"Ummm, I was wondering if we could maybe go for a walk or something and talk"?

"Yeah sure. Do you want me to come to your room right now"?

"Ummm, yes please Mal".

"Okay, I'll be right there".

"K bye Mal".

"See you soon Kayla".

We hang up and I start panicking in my mind.

"MK I know you. Take a deep breath". I follow Mama's advice and take a deep breath. "Okay good".

There's a knock at the door and knowing it's Mal makes it harder for me to control it.

"Mal is that you"? Mama quickly speaks loud enough. "Mal answers back "Yeah".

Mama whispers to me "Want me to ask her to come back later"? I shake my head unable to speak. "Want me to get her in here"? I immediately nod my head.

"Mal it's unlocked come right in". Not even a second later the door is heard and Mal walks in and the look of worry immediately appears on her face.

"Oh my god, Kayla"! She rushes over to me. "What happened"?

I try to speak but still can't.

Mal looks at Mama. "She started panicking after you ended the call". Mama wraps her arms around my back.

Mal kneels down on the floor in front of me and holds my hands "Kayla look at me okay". I look at her beautiful eyes. "That's it now copy my breathing". I follow Mal's breathing and my panic attack finally stops.

A very quiet "Thank you" Is heard from me.

"Are you okay"? Mal looked at me with tears in her eyes. I nodded and held my arms out which she immediately leaned into and I held her close to me.

"Are we going on that walk then"? Mal pulled away and looked at me in shock. "You still want to go on the walk after that"? I nodded.

"Okay, then let's go".

I put my shoes on and grabbed my key card and gave Mama a hug.

"Be safe okay". I nodded.

We made sure we had everything then we left the room.
