Chapter Forty Two

Sivaangi laid herself on the floor as tears rolled down her eyes. Ashwin's face flashed on her mind kindling her subsided sobs. A sob escaped her lips followed by more as she cried.

'Ashwin!' He was the only thought ruling Sivaangi's mind as she closed her eyes and more tears escaped her eyes. Her sob turned into hiccups as she continued to cry.

After they were disturbed and Ashwin walked out, Sivaangi fixed herself and folded the clothes. She didn't know who came and so, she didn't want to step out of the room unless Ashwin asks her to.

Sivaangi was arranging their bed when Ashwin came inside with a blank face. She asked him about who came but frowned when he ignored her question and asked her to pack their clothes.

When Sivaangi enquired why, Ashwin said that they need this apartment for business related purpose and in the meantime, they will stay somewhere. She looked at him suspiciously when he himself took the travelling bag from her hand and packed her dresses. When asked about his dresses, he pointed at his backpack and asked her to pack for him.

"Yethuku thani thaniya?" Sivaangi asked but Ashwin didn't answer and continued packing.

When Sivaangi came outside their room, there wasn't anyone. Wondering who disturbed them, she came down with Ashwin. A car was already waiting for them. Rakshan and Pugazh were inside the car and Ashwin placed their bags in the trunk of the car.

Sivaangi chatted with Rakshan and Pugazh who were at driving and passenger seat respectively. Ashwin sat next to her, completely silent yet held her hand in his. Rakshan gave a 250ml cool drink bottle to Sivaangi which she first offered to Ashwin who declined. Then she drank it as she vibe to the song playing in the car. Soon, she felt sleepy and when she leaned against Ashwin, he instinctively wrapped his arm around her. Within minutes she slept.

When Sivaangi woke up, she was in a bedroom. Thinking that Ashwin must be outside, she stretched and get refreshed. When she came out of the room, she saw Pugazh, Benzy and an unfamiliar couple who smiled at her. She asked about Ashwin but Pugazh kept silent.

Benzy made Sivaangi sit down and explained that they are at a town nearby Coimbatore now and Ashwin's at Chennai. Sivaangi stood up and demanded to know what's going on and asked Pugazh to take her to Ashwin right away.

"Koncha naal kalichu Ashwin vandhu kuptu povan papa. Athuvara inga irupom" Pugazh said trying to convince Sivaangi but nothing went in her ears.

"Yenaku avara pakanum. Yenna prachana apdi? Avaru enta yethuvum solama yepdi ipdi vitutu polam? Avaruku call panunga, na pesanum" Sivaangi demanded.

Pugazh remained silent as he was told not to mention about Santosh and his father's issue to Sivaangi. When she cried asking to talk to Ashwin, Pugazh said,

"Oru hacking assignment la problem. Athan Ashwin anga solve panitu irukan. Ipo avan ta pesa mudiyathu" Pugazh said averting his gaze and Sivaangi can see through his lie.

She can bear anything but to stay away from Ashwin, Sivaangi can't. All she could think is how Ashwin didn't say anything and left her here. How can he leave her when she opened her heart and told him not to leave her ever? Did her uncle's men find about her? Is it why Ashwin sent her here? What if he gets himself in danger? What if something happens to him? NO!

Sivaangi demanded to speak with Ashwin repeatedly making Pugazh lost his cool. He hates seeing her in tears.

Sivaangi shrieked when Pugazh dragged her to the room she came out from. She felt the same stabbing pain in her lower abdomen as Pugazh gently shoved her to the bed. Before she looked up, he went out and locked her in the room. She banged the door, asking her brother to let her out.

Her anxiety kicks in making Sivaangi's thoughts wander. She wanted to talk to Ashwin, ask him to take her with him. She longed for his warm embrace that has always made her feel safe. She melted to the floor and cried.

Pugazh walked back and forth; his face laced with worry. His bunch of curly locks danced fiercely as he walked. Benzy watched her betrothed's tensed face and sighed. She stood up when her brother Husein walked in and get the vegetable basket from him.

"Na market poetu thirumbiyeh vanten. Innuma Mapila ipdi nadanthutu irukan?" Husein asked and Benzy shrugged.

"Sivaangi aluguratha paathu romba tension ah irukaru. Koncha nerathula seri agiruvaru anna"

"Seri, unnoda anni enga?" Husein asked looking around for his wife.

"Chotii, idho vandhutenn" Manimegalai, Husein's wife walked towards him with a glass of water.

"Chotii, yenna panitu irundha ivlo nerama? Na sonna velai ah senjiya?" Husein asked extending his hand to get the glass from his wife.

Manimegalai came towards Husien and frowned at his extended hand, "Chotii, nee sonna velai lam senjuten" She paused looking at his extended hand, "Yenna venum?"

"Enaku dhana thanni kondu vandha, kudu Chotii" Husein said.

"Idhu unaku ila, Sivaangi ku. Thallu" Manimegalai said pushing Husein's hand and moved towards Sivaangi's room, "Unaku venum na kitchen la iruku. Poe kudi"

"Unn anni ku thimira pathiya" Husein sighed.

"Kattuna ivala dhan kattuven nu sandai potu kattuna la, anubavi" Benzy chuckled and took the vegetable basket to kitchen.

Husein walked to Pugazh and asked him not to worry. Benzy came back from the kitchen with a glass of water for her brother but she shrieked and the glass slipped from her hand when they heard screams from Sivaangi's room.

Pugazh, Husein and Benzy rushed to Sivaangi's room and they frowned on seeing Sivaangi and Manimegalai hugging each other as they stood on the bed, their face painted with panic.

"Yenna achu ongaluku? Yean kathuninga?" Pugazh asked worried.

"Ada mala korange! Anga paaru da!" Mani said pointing to the floor and they all saw a cockroach on the floor crawling near the glass dropped on the floor. Benzy looked at the cockroach and silently left from there.

"Veetuku vara pora mapilai ku nalla mariyadhai ma" Pugazh said dramatically.

"Shobba! Cockroach ku dhan indha kaththu kathuningala!" Husein sighed.

"Anney, modha adha inga irundhu veratu neyy" Sivaangi said holding Manimegalai's hand tightly.

"Aaahhh! Yean di ipdi enn kai ah nerikura!" Manimegalai said but shrieked and hugged Sivaangi tightly when the cockroach started to fly resulting in Manimegalai and Sivaangi falling on the bed together.

"Ada paithiyangala!" Husein laughed as he took a cloth and shoved the cockroach out while Pugazh helped Sivaangi sit.

"Anney, adhu poerucha neyy?" Sivaangi asked holding Pugazh's hand.

"Poeruchu papa" Pugazh calmed Sivaangi patting her head.

Sivaangi heaved a sigh on seeing the cockroach gone. Manimegalai sat up, placing her hand on Sivaangi's shoulder.

"Habba! Oru velai ah unna cockroach ta irundhu kapathiten di Sivaangi" Manimegalai said as she leaned against the wall.

Sivaangi blinked at Manimegalai looking at her as if she's real while Pugazh glared at Manimegalai.

"Cockroach ku bayandhu bed mela ninnutu kapathiten nu urutturiya" Husein said walking towards them.

Husein and Manimegalai started their banter while Pugazh observed Sivaangi's face who's looking at Husein and Manimegalai.

"Ada chi niruthunga rendu perum. Angutu poe sandai podunga" Pugazh said making them stop.

Manimegalai twisted her lips at Pugazh as she got down from the bed. Husein wrapped his arm around Manimegalai's neck as they continued their banter and walked out of the room.

"Neyy, avaru ta pesa mudiyatha neyy?" Sivaangi asked blinking at Pugazh.

"Papa, anna solradha porumaiya alugama kepiya?" Pugazh asked as he sat next to Sivaangi.

"Hmmm" Sivaangi hummed and her eyes filled with tears.

"Alakudathu nu sonen la" Pugazh said wiping Sivaangi's tears. She blinked back her tears and nodded her head at him.

"Oru chinna problem dhan Papa. Namma koncha naal Benzy kuda inga irupom. Aprm Ashwin vandhu nammala kuptu poeruvan"

"Yenna prachana neyy? Ena inga kuptu vandhrukinga na, enoda chithapa kandupidichutara? Avaru naala p-"

"Nee modhala amaidhiya iru. Yethuku patharura" Pugazh said silencing Sivaangi, "Yendha prachanaya irundhalum Ashwin seri paniruvan nu avana nambura la?"

Sivaangi studied Pugazh's face for a moment before nodding her head.

"Unn mobile enta dhan iruku Sivu. Koncha naal matum dhan namma inga iruka porom. Maximum one week. Ashwin ku yendha prachanayum varadhu. Avan nammala kupda varuvan, seriya? Namma avanuku call panna mudiyathu. Avan call panra apo annan unta pesa kudukuren seriya"

Pugazh spoke to Sivaangi for some good ten minutes and managed to calm her down. He took her out and introduced her to Husein and Manimegalai. They asked her to consider their house as her own and be free. Sivaangi wasn't convinced but she waited for a chance to talk to Ashwin. But Manimegalai distracted Sivaangi with her antics.

There Ashwin yelled at someone in the call as he walked back and forth. He's at a Baba Baskar's place, in a room along with his friends.

"Nee yenna seiva nu enaku theriyadhu Durai, moththa details um enaku seekiram venum!" Ashwin snarled and hang up the call.

"Yenna machan, nee keta information inum kedaikalaya?" Rakshan asked placing his hand on Ashwin's shoulder.

"Ila da aana seekiram kedachurum" Ashwin sighed trying to keep his anger at check and turned to Bala who's seated next to Sarath, "Master inum varalaya?"

"Chithapa fifteen minutes la vandhruvaru" Bala said.

"AK, nee modha okaru machan" Sanjay said pushing Ashwin to sit on the bed.

"Pugazh call panan ah? Sivaangi yendhrichutala?" Ashwin asked Rakshan.

"Kuptan. Ava yendhrichu unta ponum, unta pesanum nu orey alugai ahm. Room la adachu potu vachuruken nu romba feel panan"

Ashwin sighed and buried his face in his palm. Right after he came out of the room, he met Master who told him that Santosh came to knew that Master's safeguarding Sivaangi.

When some of Master's men were at the bar, Anthony's right hand came there with his friends. Drunk, they passed comments on Master's men and provoked them. When Master's men tried to move out, Anthony's right-hand Prabha raised hand at one of Master's men and it stretched to a fight.

As Prabha and his friends were already very drunk, Master's men took them down and left with warning. When Prabha woke up, he got so pissed and to get back at Master's men, he leaked the information to Santosh that Master and his men are safeguarding Sivaangi.

Anthony was enraged when Santosh called him and threatened him for hiding about Sivaangi. He asked his men to bring Prabha to him and informed Master about the issue. After learning this, Master tried to reach Ashwin but Ashwin didn't pick up. So, he informed Ashwin's friends and he himself rushed to Ashwin's apartment.

Santosh has been trying to reach out to Master but Master dodged his effort and before Santosh could lose his patience and do something, he wanted Sivaangi to get to safety. He explained this to Ashwin.

"Darshan namma side nu Santosh ku theriya venam" That was the first thing Ashwin said as he eyed at Darshan.

"Seri, Sivaangi ah enoda safe house ku engayachum mathalam ah AK?" Master asked.

"Ila, Master. Vendam" Ashwin said and turned to Pugazh, "Dei, nee avala Benzy veetuku kuptu po. Ava Chennai la yeh iruka vendam. Santosh yepdi react panuvan, yaru kuda sendhu prachana kudupan nu lam theriyadhu. Adhu vara ava anga safe ah irukatum. Athan nalladhu"

They discussed for a while.

"Thangam unna vitu thaniya poga sonna poga mata machan" Rakshan said.

"Ama, kandipa adam pidipa poga maten nu. Avala yepdi anupuradhu?" Mano asked. Everyone there knows how Sivaangi would react.

"Master, elarum inga irundhu kelambunga. Ava onga elarayum paatha na aprm bayapaduva" Ashwin said and added, "Na avala Pugazh kuda anupi vaikuren"

Soon they all left save for Ashwin and his friends. Ashwin sent Sarath and Sanjay to get a work done for him while Pugazh packed his things and Rakshan went down to get the car.

Sighing, Ashwin moved towards their room. He managed to take Sivaangi with him to the car. After she drank the cool drink, she soon slept. He caressed her cheek and placed a kiss on her forehead before asking Rakshan to drop him off at the nearby bus stop.

Ashwin knew Sivaangi would be hurt. She would demand to meet him, talk to him but he can't risk her safety. He remembers how she reacted when he asked her to go out of the apartment and live her life. She didn't want to step out because she didn't want a situation where she had to stay away from him. Now she must be going crazy there. Top of it, he just left her and didn't explain anything. He felt guilty thinking of her crying.

"Sivu sonna purinchupa machan. Nee tension aagadha" Sanjay said placing his hand on Ashwin's shoulder.

"Ama, partner, nee aprm ah Papa ta pesu. Pathukalam"

They head a door knock and Sandy walked inside.

"Enn kuda va" Sandy said looking at Ashwin.

Without asking anything, Ashwin stood up and followed Sandy as they walked out.

"Anthony Das vandhrukaru. Master unna kuptu vara sonaru pesuradhuku" Sandy said as they walked side by side.

Ashwin heaved a tired sigh before nodding at Sandy as they walked out. Its going to be a long day!
