This is a drawing I started about an hour ago. My inspiration came when my little brother turned the radio onto a classical station, and a song that reminded me of jellyfish started playing.

Then I started having flashes of a potential story that had a sea serpent in it, and that made me think of the Japanese ningyo, which I had heard about in passing while reading a children's book on mermaids years and years ago. Mixing that with the tale of English mermaids who were small enough to sleep in a clamshell, with jellyfish and gradient shading experimentation, and this is the end result. Not nearly as horrible as I'd feared it would turn out to be, but definitely in need of more experience, and possibly a change of medium is in order.......

Anyway, I'd appreciate if someone, anyone could give me constructive criticism, because I really have no idea on what to work on other than trying new things to get me out of my comfort zone.
