Chapter fifteen- The Maze!

Thalia's POV

Like Nico said we have no other choice than to go forward. We walked for like hours but it's like we were going around and around but while we were walking, I saw something gleaming.

"Hey guys what's that?" I called out.

I walked followed where the light was coming from and they followed. At the end the light ended.

"Where did the light go?" I asked looking around.

"And where did it come from?" I continued.

"I think it came from does two doors in front of you." Aly said.

"Oh." I said. My face felt hot from embarrassment.

Then we saw a bright light. We averted our eyes until the light faded like before.

"Hey guys, there's a letter." Max said getting a paper from the floor.

"What does it say?" Percy asked.

"It says chose one or chose two but only six can enter the first door." Max read.

"It means we need to split into half." Annabeth said but it sounded more like a question. "Okay, so who is going with me?" Percy asked

"How about Max, Aly, Clio, Theseus and me." Annabeth said

"Okay, so Thalia, Nico, Melody and Grover will go inside the second door." Theseus said. "Good luck guys." Clio said while spreading her arms. I went to her and hugged her.

"But how will we find you?" Melody asked.

"I don't know, somehow maybe or will just really find each other." Nico said.

"Go first." Annabeth said.

"Okay, be safe you guys." Grover said giving his last goodbye to Percy.

Once we entered the door; the place was full of tree bearing fruits and it was so peaceful.

"This is not what I was expecting." Nico said looking around.

"Oh fruits!" Grover exclaimed in excitement. Grover ran towards an apple tree and tried grabbing a fruit.

"Grover don't!" Melody said stopping Grover.

"Why?" He asked.

"They might be poisonous." She answered.

"What a smart little girl." A female voice said.

"Who are you?" Nico asked bringing out his Stygian sword.

"Don't fight me; I am not your enemy." The voice said.

Then a woman walked up to us. She was wearing a long silk colorful dress; it had design of fruits all over it.  

"I am Carpo, goddess of fruits." Carpo said. Then a male figure walked beside her.

"I'm Soter, spirit of safety." He said.

"I warn you to not eat anything here or else you can never leave." He warned us.

"I told you." Melody said looking at Grover. Then the goddess and spirit were gone.

"I guess we're on are own now and remember don't eat anything." Nico reminded us.

"Oh, I wonder what have happened to the others.

Clio's POV

So the last thing we saw was Thalia, Nico, Melody and Grover walk inside the second door.

"I hope they are safe." I murmured.

"Come on let's go in." Theseus said grabbing my hand.

When we entered the only thing I could say about the place was whoa.

"Whoa." I said.

The place was like a world of candy; it was like the one in the video California girls by Katy Perry. There were trees that had a lot of candy.

"Candy bearing trees!" Max exclaimed pointing to one of the trees.

"Is this a joke?" Aly asked.

"I don't think so." Annabeth said.

The floor was made of frosting but there was a path where we could walk, there were candy all over the floor. We explored the place and then it became colder.

"Ice cream." Theseus said.

"Don't eat anything." Someone said in my mind.

"Guys whatever you do don't eat anything; they might be a trap or something." I said warning my friends.

"Okay." Max said putting down the ice cream she just picked.

We saw walking gummy bears.

"That's weird." Annabeth said.

Then I saw my favorite candy of all. Licorice. I ran towards it and touched it once I touched it; it became a huge snake.

"Oh my gods! Aly screamed.

They all brought out their swords but I stood their frozen. Theseus pulled me out of the way and slashed at snake. The snake breathed fire. I felt terrified. Snakes were my worst fear of all. They all fought the huge snake. I still stood there frozen, helpless. Finally I moved; I took my sword Storm bringer and charged at the monster. We fought the monster but it won't get killed.

"We need to escape." Percy finally said.

"Over there!" Theseus said pointing at a long rope going straight towards the cotton clouds.

Annabeth, Max and Percy were the first to escape. Aly already had a lightning whip but the monster won't just get killed.

"GO ALY!" I said telling her to escape. She ran towards the rope.

"Go Clio, I'll finish the monster." Theseus said. I was exhausted but I didn't want to lose him again.

"No, I won't leave you." I said dodging the fire. Then and there my eyes and skin started to burn.

Theseus's POV

Clio's eyes were turning dark violet and she was glowing. Then she screamed and the serpent was knocked out.

"We need to escape fast!" She said

"It will regain it strength sooner or later. We ran towards the rope but suddenly someone or something pulled me. My feet were in pain. I was in pain but I didn't show it to Clio. 

Clio's POV

"Theseus!" I screamed after him.

He was being pulled by the huge serpent. I can feel tears falling down my face. Then he screamed

"Go!" my heart pounded and it was like being ripped out of my chest.

I can't lose him I said in my brain. Then he screamed again

"Go now!" and mouthed

"I love you." After that I didn't see him anymore; he was pulled into a hole by the serpent. My knees buckled; I fell on my knees still crying. I was sad, mad, and empty.

"I love you too, Theseus." I murmured to my self. I climbed the rope and saw my friends resting.

"What happened?" Max asked.

"Theseus……. His gone." I managed to choke out.

"What!" Aly said. I started crying. Percy came up to me and said

"We'll get him back." trying to comfort me.

"I hope so." I said while hugging him. He hugged me back. We camped here on the cotton clouds for the nights. The last thing I said

"I hope my other friends are safe." and cried myself to sleep.
